Rubbish

Buy something, don't get it, don't get any updates, call costumer service cos there is no other option to let them know they messed up and be told most of things are out of stock plus for the things available you will still have to wait couple of days even though you paid extra for next day at the first time. At the end maybe you would receive part of your order after two weeks. Or not . Refound was send as no other option that would make sens was available.

Awful awful company

Awful awful company. First the George website is an absolute nightmare to order through, keeps saying error with payment, have to try as a guest with a separate email and keep clicking and eventually it'll randomly work this has been ongoing for over a month now, sort it out! Anyway then a big £70 order put down as cancelled/returned without me being notified when ringing to question why the excuse was "if items aren't available" well the items are available as I had to order everything again. 2 items were apparently not cancelled and on the way, 1 of those items got cancelled an hour after the call, then the last item we never received an email or text just tried our luck in store. The re-ordered items again no text or email to say they were ready for collection, tracking told me they were in store 2 hours before I went in but staff firstly told me no orders were there yet, but as I was leaving the tracking said it could be collected so went back, order was in 2 parcels, parcel 2 of 2 i could collect but not 1 of 2 even though it was the same order. Hung around for a further 20 minutes and the 1st parcel I could then collect. Simple issue of just looking for my surname and scanning it rather than me hanging around for nearly 45 minutes with 3 kids would have been helpful. This company is really going downhill. Shame because I like their products but the staff and service is appalling which put you off shopping with them.

Click but nothing to collect

I made an online order for George & arranged a click & collect for 1 weeks time. Nothing arrived. I received an email saying that there's a 24hr delay but 48hrs on still waiting. I called customer service who agreed the delivery should have arrived, they don't know why it hasn't arrived then offered me a refund - except I will have to wait 5-7 days for the refund to appear in my bank.
What a total waste of time & energy!

BOYCOTT ASDA

BOYCOTT ASDA! They are a disgraceful company; offered me a £5 voucher as they sent a faulty item and blocked my account so I cannot use this in the future now with no explanation!!! Clearly other customers are feeling the same as they have several negative reviews so poor from a big company will be avoiding at All costs!!!!!!

Minus ten stars more like

Minus ten stars more like. Three items missing, they cancelled one without letting me know. The other two items were still tracking as in transit with evri five days ago, scheduled for delivery two days ago.
They came up as in transit then delayed then back in transit all on same day.
Phoned George at Asda, got through to a call centre in India. A woman we barely understood answered and said items were lost and she would get a refund. WE WANTED THE ITEMS.
She then told us one was out of stock. We specifically wanted it so she sent it out again, but we really wanted the one the she said was out of stock.
My wife said it was still marked as in transit and wanted to wait for it but the woman said she had already processed the refund.
We wanted to make a complaint with Evri, the courier and she said they don’t have the phone number. We queried why they don’t have the phone number of the courier they use?
The conversation was getting pointless, she was reciting the same thing and even sniggered at us.
We did contact Evri using their chat bot because you can’t speak to a human and it said THEY DID STILL HAVE THE PARCEL and it took details of our conversation to forward to the courier.
This whole process has been a nightmare and as a disabled person I will never use Asda again. Even their website give their telephone number for their head office in Leeds but the number puts you through to their complaints department in India, in fact every number they give is the same number in India.

Thank you Singson!

I can’t believe how bad the star ratings are for George and it looks like it is highly based on their customer service, however the customer service I received from Singson was exceptional so I must have been lucky!

I purchased a hanging egg chair and selected next day delivery. I got a message from yodel saying that it was delayed, I contacted George customer service via Facebook messenger and got a response within minutes from Singson advising the order has been damaged in transit and a refund can be issued. I replied asking for the full refund and a shipping code to reorder, they could not provide a shipping code but provided me with a £10 voucher to cover the shipping. The refund and voucher was issued immediately and I have now reordered. Hoping I will receive the order tomorrow.

Thank you Singson for turning a potentially stressful issue into a good resolution!

Will never order again!

Ordered several large storage boxes, everyone was damage when delivered. Contacted the call centre who was very unhelpful and rude! Eventually arranged replacements but they wanted some of the boxes returned. First arranged collection didn’t turn up so wasted a day off work, replacement deliver didn’t arrive so another day off wasted! Yodel driver arrived next day, to collect , and refused to take as he said it had wrong label, which was one Asda gave me. Contacted call centre who tried to speak to him and he became very abusive! A week later delivery came, with same driver who literally threw the boxes into my hall then became very abusive again when I tried to take pictures of his registration. He then came at me aggressively, and when I ran back into my house he began to bang on my door, shouting loudly to the point I had to phone the police! Contacted Asda call centre who offered me an insulting £5 voucher, I’ve wrote several email but had no replies. This is a terrible company and will never use again.

This is the first and last time I order from George

This is the first and last time I order something on George website. It is a nighmare. I ordered Ms Rachel flash card toy to be collected In Park Royal Asda supermarket. I placed fhe order Sunday at 3:30pm paid by paypal, the money went through but i necer received the order email. I am supposed to collect tomorrow Tuesday and still no email with the order number sent. I rand customer service twice and no help provided, nothing can be done. All he said is I have to wait til tuesday to see if i get a collection notification or i will get a refund.

Purchased a goblin hoover for my sister…

Purchased a goblin hoover for my sister as she has difficulties maneuvering on stairs, As I was taken it out of the box a friend told us she had that model and that the hose just comes loose, so we decided to send it back, I took it back to my local south shields asda store who were not sure how the return should be, but accepted it and I received a returns receipt, that was on the 12th February, It is now 15 of March, I was told I would be refunded in a week, over a month later, no refund, on my account their is no mention of the item being returned, very poor customer service and experience, which reading some of these reviews seems to be the norm

Online order unable to change address

Placed an order online for some kitchen bins, my billing address was seleceted as my delivery address, which was incorrect. I tried to find a way to ammend or cancel the order online, ended up calling customer service to which they said there was no way to cancel or ammend it except for going in to a physical ASDA store to do so. Little help from the service worker whose best suggestion is to hope that they don't accept the delivery at the billing address. Won't be buying online from them ever again.

Unfulfilled collection dates, not acceptable customer experience

Second time I have ordered items for collection on a specified date and the items have not been delivered. What is he point of giving dates that you clearly cannot fulfill. The delays on both occasions have caused significant issues for us, I would not have ordered if I had been advised of the dates which have ended up outside of our requirements. Asda need to review their customer service, it's not acceptable.

Get your bank involved and it will be okay!

Just an update on my review a month later..In a nutshell, I never received my order and I tried everything I could to complain, I called, I emailed, I even wrote to the CEO. They didnt care in the slightest and werent going to pay me back. I was even blocked on an email address. My last option was to get my bank involved, which I did. And surprise, surprise, I got my money back 7 days later! So just make sure you write and complain, take screenshots of everything, A month later get your bank involved and you will get back what you are owed. Dont stress. Screenshot receipts and you´ll be fine. The bank will take care of it whether they like it or not.
I will never order anything from them again, they completely lost my trust.

George - More than disappointing

Have lots of 27L storage boxes with lids. Purchased 2 more sets of storage boxes, They arrived VERY poorly packaged. Very high proportion of broken items. Agreed to return 1 of 2 sets of boxes for replacement with undamaged boxes and lids. Replacements arrived with same ineffective packaging and very badly damaged, My reviews politely mentioned the above problems as MANY others did, but in more detail. They weren't used!

The returns process is a joke

The returns process is a joke. Despite returning in store the even manage to lose the return and make ou wait 14 working days before you can even submit a form, then will take forever to investigate and even longer to issue the refund even when the finally agree to it. A simpel return shouldn't take 2 months to process

Order not delivered

I placed an order which was meant to be delivered by DPD. I had a notification to say it had been delivered, but it hasn't been. The DPD driver who photographed it outside has a van and signed my name.
I'm having to chase for a refund!!!
George is showing it as delivered on my account, and I have no access to tracking info.

Returned an item - no refund

Returned an item, but as a 'third party item', it wasn't refunded automatically. I've had to call to initiate the refund.
Why oh why, do they use call centres not in the UK?
When I was asking the customer service agent three times to repeat himself (many times) it becomes very frustrating! He spoke so fast I couldn't understand him. Paying them for the number of calls they complete no doubt.
ASDA George really is the pits to order from.
Broken packaging, broken items as a general rule, and having to chase for refunds.

Worse service

am extremely disappointed with the service from George at Asda.

Their website does not provide correct information and is very misleading, especially regarding “Next Day Delivery”. I placed an order on 27/02 and PAID extra for next day delivery because I urgently needed the product. It was absolutely essential that it arrived the following day.

Not only did it fail to arrive the next day, but it also did not arrive the day after. It was only delivered two days after the purchase. To make matters worse, I received no communication or explanation whatsoever. I had to call them myself to find out what was going on, and the customer service representative simply said that the website does not make this clear and that “this is how it works”.

This is completely unacceptable and very misleading. Charging customers for next day delivery and then not honouring it, without any proper explanation or apology, is a total lack of respect.

I would not rely on their delivery promises again.

What a shame

Not only useless customer services but liars. Two "agents" promised to call me back and of course didn't. I would love to know if the owners/directors know what a shambles their company is in the UK? I am still trying to find a way to contact them. It is such a popular store and I have shopped there a lot, but I refuse to be treated as badly as they have and lied to.

What a shame! I have always liked GEORGE at ASDA and used them a lot both in store and on line. However, NEVER again (I mean it this time!) They are a complete SHAMBLES I placed an order with them for click and collect at the Brotherhood Store in Peterborough and went to collect it this morning to find the store closed for refurbishment and not reopening until 12 March!! This parcel contains a birthday present needed for Wednesday!
I called Customer Services to find out where my parcel was. They have taken my money but not provided the goods . The person I called did not know the store was closed! What??????
I was then told the store was accepting orders so perhaps I should go there again and check.
2 x phone calls, agents not listening, apologising but not doing anything, not believing the store is closed when I have told them it is because I have been there, and they haven't. Not allowing me to speak to a manager, not giving me the email address to contact head office.
A dreadful way to run a business and customer services. As much as the children's clothes are such good value I would rather pay more and get the service I deserve. NEVER EVER again George at Asda! You are a Sh*t show and the other reviews on here show that!

Is it too much to ask to have this…

Is it too much to ask to have this company actually put your items into packaging before they send them? I bought a duvet and yes it's in it's package but surely it needs to be protected in another outer bag of some sort? It arrived burst, of course. I'll never buy from here again. Tracking is useless and so is customer support. I see all the other reviews are 1 star, well done Asda.
