Checking Twin Lens Reflex Focusing
With any twin lens reflex camera it is important to check that the image focusing at the film plane corresponds to that seen on the ground glass focusing screen. This can be done with the camera back open, the shutter open on B and a piece of ground glass over the film plane. In this case the lens had mismatched front and rear elements so the lens did not come into focus on the film at any distance although the viewing lens showed correct focus. An easy fault to miss and I was offered a refund but as the fault was picked up after 14 days I was asked to pay the return postage. I do think 14 days is a rather brief time to test a camera fully. A month would be more appropriate. In this case I was able to resolve the problem with a correct front element from a spares camera but this was fortunate.

Trustworthy and uncomplicated
I bought an analog camera (mir) from them, very uncomplicated process, delivery was fast. Before writing a review I wanted to try it out and develop the film, the results just came out today: The camera is in fantastic shape, just as it was described in their website.

The item was listed onebay but was actually cheaper on their own website which was clearly pointed out, very honest. I have seen similar lenses for more than twice the price so very good value too, plus free shipping as well.

Ordered AIS lens
Ordered AIS lens, AI lens turned up
Asked for return address via phone to be emailed Friday, did not arrive. Called again Monday, got address and paid for return label, dealt with efficiently. Got refunded, long winded process as online refund took many days (longer than most sellers to process if being refunded) though no cost to me. Seems like a nice enough guy, just had 'misdescribed' what he was selling, and it felt like hard work to get an address which was not on website, nor was a Landline phone number.

I’m sorry that the mount was listed incorrectly, but as a very small team, running a busy website, occasionally things get missed. (We’re human, it happens) however when this happens, we are more than happy to put it right.
However I did just want to clarify a couple of things about your review.
The reason that the address isn’t listed on the website is because myself and my small team are currently working from home since the closure of my shop and going back to online only, however there is a simple returns process listed on the website, which can be found here: https://www.gibsoncameras.com/returns-policy
This states that you can email: returns@gibsoncameras.com or alternatively you can fill out a returns form, which can also be found on the website here:

Returns are always accepted for any reason, without quibble, within 14 days of successful delivery & if you’re returning something because of an issue that’s not your fault, instead of a change of mind, you would never be expected to pay for the return shipping.
All of these details are also listed in the FAQ’s on the website.

Are shown at the bottom of every page, as well as on the contact us page.
I do however think it’s a little unfair to say that it was a long winded process to get a returns label sent to you, as this was provided to you on the same day that a return was requested, as per our returns procedure, and of course at no cost to yourself and once your order was received back with us, a refund was also issued on the same day.
I do however wish you the very best & thank you for taking the time to leave a review and share your experience.

Pro staff, fast delivery, no lies about the cameras
An awesome camera service provider with extremely pro and polite staff. I appreciate the necessary explanations that one of the staff gave me the other day to get a suitable camera according to ma needs. I was also reading the reviews and got the point of smell of the packages when it was delieverd. IMO, if they solve that the company's functionality would be flawless.

Great price
Great price, quick delivery and the camera is as good as described. Everything seems to be functioning well. The only negative I'd have was the strong smell of cigarettes with both the packaging and the camera itself but nothing an antibacterial wipe down of the camera and a wash of hands didn't sort.

Lovely used light meter in really pristine condition, despite its age. Very fair price indeed and was very well packaged. Happy customer here! I will shop again and will certainly recommend to others.
