So Bad

So Bad. The tech set up, with a remote tech connected and changed security in my MAC took 45 minutes and then we couldn’t find the test. I gave up after an hour. There’s no need for this level of user complexity. ProctorU needs to consider a seamless user experience vs the nightmare of tech set up. Does not run on an iPAD either (had to borrow my sons MAC). Only positive - online tech was good. The process is just HORRIBLE.

The absolute worst BS on the planet for proctored exams
Laptop got flagged for kiosk software required for national law enforcement exam i took 5 weeks ago. I took it off and did a factory reset last night. Started exam again today. Flagged again for getscreen remote software. Took the laptop to a computer store for them to have an extra pair of eyes for a scan. And wouldn't you know it. NO 3RD PARTY software detected.
What frickin drugs are you people on?
I cannot convey how much I loathe this company. Id like them to go bankrupt

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. Second time I try to take an exam and they take my money and cancel the exam without any further explanation. The support is a joke and no help. They laughed at my face during the call and just said nothing can be done. 3 hours on the phone and the best they can maybe do is let me take the exam 7 days from when I originally booked it, meaning time is lost and this they cant reimburse. The biggest scam in education, I have no idea how serious companies keep business with this joke.

STAY AWAY!!!! PROCTOR U IS THE DEVIL!!!!

im literally so mad i cant even type strait. this is the most trash "survaylance" garbage i have ever seen in my entire life. if your school uses this just drop out now and save yourself the brain cells because proctor u is going to take them all anyway!!!!

THE "TECH SUPPORT" IS A JOKE
THEY ARE LITERALLY CLUELESS: i spent 2 hours in a chat with a "teknishen" who kept telling me to clear my "cashe." I TOLD HIM I DONT HAVE ANY CASH BECAUSE I SPENT IT ALL ON THIS STUPID CLASS!!! he just kept sending the same copy-paste messages like a broken robot. do they even have brains or did they just hire people who found a computer in a dumpster??

THEY BROKE MY PRIVACY: some guy named "support_5" literally took over my mouse and started clicking thru my personal folders while i was watching him!! he was looking for "background apps" but he was probably just trying to steal my roblox password!!! His name was Rashin and barely even spoke english, like hello this is America, I speak english noy spanish.

ZERO HELP: every time i told him the screen was frozen he would say "patience please." PATIENCE?? MY EXAM ENDS IN 10 MINUTES YOU ABSOLUTE MUPPET!!! i swear these people dont even know how to turn on a monitor without a manual.

THE SOFTWARE IS STRAIGHT POOPOO:
THE FACE SCAN: it kept telling me it "couldnt find my face." I AM SITTING RIGHT HERE!! i have a nose and two eyes and a mouth but apparently proctor u thinks im a ghost!! i had to hold a flashlight to my chin like im telling a campfire story just to get it to work.

THE ROOM SCAN: i had to lift my 50 pound desktop monitor to show them under my desk. I DROPPED IT AND ALMOST CRUSHED MY FOOT AND THE PROCTOR JUST SAID "THANK YOU." they dont care about human safety at all!!!

THE CONNECTION: it drops every 5 minutes and then you have to wait in line for another hour to talk to a "expert" who is probably just a toddler with a headset on.

"Proctor U isn't even a real word and the U stands for USELESS PIECE OF TRASH!!"

FINAL WORD:
i failed my test because the app crashed while i was on question 3 and the teknishen told me it was "my fault" because my cat walked past the door. I HOPE THIS COMPANY GOES TO THE MOON AND THEN THE MOON EXPLODES!!! DO NOT BUY!!! DO NOT USE!!! GO AWAY FOREVER!!!!!

ProctorU is an awful proctoring…

ProctorU is an awful proctoring platform. I will probably not receive a refund from the session that was supposed to be my final exam today, and I will obviously have to pay extra to reschedule it. I also sent them documentation of the chats with the proctors, and trying to get started. Regardless of what course I'm taking, there's always a "problem" of some sort with this platform. Please use HonorLock or something that doesn't charge us, nor raise blood pressure and frustrate students right as we're trying to take an exam. The following is what I've submitted to them for a refund:
"My scheduled exam time was 11:00 AM. Instead of beginning the exam at that time, I spent nearly an hour going back and forth with multiple proctors, each of whom seemed to have a completely different set of issues and requirements.
First, there was a problem with an application on my computer related to a second monitor. That second monitor was completely unplugged, closed, and clearly visible during the room scan as not being in use. Despite that, I was required to uninstall the application entirely just to proceed.
Then there were repeated issues regarding my ID verification. I had to present my ID multiple times, including taking pictures with my phone and zooming in on them for further inspection. After that, I was required to complete another room scan.
The next issue involved books stored on the bookshelf portion of my desk. The books were closed, not accessible during the exam, and positioned in a way where they could not realistically be read from my seat. Nevertheless, I was instructed to remove or clear items from the area.
Then attention shifted to a small basket containing blank sticky notes. I even zoomed in with my computer camera to demonstrate that they were completely blank and unrelated to the exam. That still was not enough.
Finally, another proctor interrupted through live audio - not chat - and instructed me to bring an entirely separate chair into my office and place my computer on it in order to take the exam. My desk and chair are set up ergonomically, and by that point the process has become excessive and unreasonable.
If proctors are actively monitoring examinees, then they should easily be able to determine whether someone is looking away repeatedly, reaching for unauthorized materials, or attempting to cheat. That is supposedly the purpose of remote proctoring. Instead, this process felt less like exam security and more like an endless series of arbitrary demands.
I am required to leave my home by 1:30 PM for prior obligations. That is only 2.5 hours after my originally scheduled exam start time for a two-hour exam. Because of the delays caused entirely by the proctoring process, I am now stressed, frustrated, and no longer in a position to focus on an exam I was otherwise fully prepared to take.
I am requesting either a refund or a credit for this exam attempt. I also do not expect to pay a $16 rescheduling fee for delays and disruptions caused by inconsistent proctor requirements. Prior to the exam, I already removed personal sticky notes, cleaned and organized my workspace, and complied with every request made of me.
This is, without question, the worst proctoring platform I have ever been required to use. Every exam seems to involve a completely different set of arbitrary issues depending on which proctor happens to connect. Frankly, it creates an environment that is unnecessarily stressful and hostile for test takers.
I also had to remove software from my computer that I now must locate and reinstall later, despite the fact that it was plainly obvious neither the software nor the second monitor was being used during the exam.
Your platform has full visibility into my screen activity and computer usage. Either the proctors are actively monitoring examinees and capable of identifying suspicious behavior, or they are not. I am not attempting to cheat. I am simply attempting to take an exam. Unfortunately, your platform makes that process unnecessarily difficult and frustrating."

Left out where i offered to cover the "offensive desk" of books in the shelf/cubby and blank sticky notes with a towel or blanket, and was told no by the lady that spoke through the computer, and not the chat.

This company is unbelievable. It's been hours, and I am still completely aggitated by today's experience. I was absolutely focused and ready for this exam, and now I can't stay focused on anything.

They are so rude as well, if I look somewhere else than the camera they suppose I am looking somewhere else what the hell is that. even in real exams it's not that strict ,this exam taking website is total stupid for no reason I hate them with whole heart.

The worst ever experience with an exam

The worst ever experience with an exam. I had a mock test before exam which was even worse. They couldn’t give me access to start the test while the time was running down, luckily this was only a mock. Also no clue with any IT/tech. During the exam was just as bad constantly stopping me because I would take a drink of water. For some reason I was also not allowed to leave my phone in another room and had to retrieve before starting the exam, which under stress and pressure and I forgot to put on dnd and it went off during exam. I also read loads of reviews and seen how bad they are, luckily I purchased a refurbished laptop as I heard about loads of problems with them still having access.

Awful proctor site and services, DO NOT USE

I have never had such a bad experience. Two times in a semester not only was the site buggy and slow, not loading where it needed, but nobody was able to help. Both times cut an entire hour into my schedule (I have work and other things I schedule around a DESIGNATED
block of time.) Priyanka and another agent and supervisor were extremely unhelpful, turning a bad situation worse. I sincerely hope that ProctorU can either get its tech act together or recognize that it’s obsolete at best. Worst experience I’ve had in testing multiple times. I hoped at least my final would have been better. A shame that this is widely utilized when so many people run into the same errors without any betterment of the system itself

Awful experience

Awful experience, I wouldn’t move to drink a sip of water, yet alone to do anything and mostly all the techs are rude, you are so concentrated on the test and any movement they have you stop doing the test to see your desk and change rep all the time and each rep wants to see like hello what makes you think I wanna cheat when it’ll affect me. Aside from that they messed up my laptop end up buying another one

Tried to take an exam today - endless holds waiting for support

Tried to take an exam today. Went through all the pre-checks and installed the software as recommended. In the test everything worked fine. Logged in 15 minutes early and clicked to start. Waited 20 minutes without a proctor connecting so reached out to chat support, asked endlessly for my name, email, institution and exam. Chat support basically told me to wait. 10 minutes later reached out again, was eventually directed to their "Premium Help" where we could share a screen. Midway through this process, a proctor connected and the Technician immediately disconnected. By this time I was over an hour after the scheduled start time of my exam. Proctor could not figure out how to get me in so told me to shut everything down and restart. Did that, and the restart didn't fix anything. Connected to chat support again, they passed me to the "Premium" version again and disconnected. After five minutes of waiting for an Technician, I called in, again. Got a support person who put me on hold "to go see how long it would take for the Technician to come in. That call disconnected after 16 minutes. Then the help session timed out. Started a new one, waited about five minutes and called again. Technician finally connected about 20 minutes after the original request (I have screenshots to back this up). The Technician told me I'd missed my exam window and disconnected. Called tech support again and was finally connected with someone who took notes on what happened and apologized. They helped reschedule my exam (so I get to waste another half day to do what I should have been able to do today) after their system got caught in a loop when I tried to use the rescheduling link.
If you have ANY other option to take your test, I'd recommend using that option over ProctorU. If you do have to go through ProctorU, my advice is to connect like they tell you and just immediately call support (not chat) to make sure there isn't anything going on that would prevent you from taking your test.

Proctor-U Exam Unsatisfied

I took my exam with ProctorU and did the whole view of the room and under the desk. At the end of my exam, I let them know I was done before clicking the finish button. A lady came on and asked if I was using a white board. I was like huh, a white board. If I had a white board I would not have failed the exam. I think PoctorU is a scam. Where can I take the exam on paper for the CPRP PRA?

Room for Improvement

Room for Improvement. Rithika S, you weren't very helpful and was shutting my computer down necessary or were you taking the the piss. Rohan, you were alright.
ProctorU is a great concept but ya'll need to not take it so seriously man, its not jail it's flexibility. Ya'll tried to make me stressed but its an aptitude test, like Huh? I'm choosing to do it at home because it's more comfortable and a time saver. Do i need to show you the underneath of my desk? also its a laptop not a phone!
Great for accessibility but idk dont you guys have professionals
or ai that can track people's movements mannerisms to see if they're cheating? that would be so much easier. and i cant talk in my own room? come on. i read aloud!

Too many interruptions

I needed to pay $31 to take each exam. When I pay this amount, I expect the exam to go smoothly. EACH exam, the proctor has switched multiple times. Almost every single time the proctor switched, they would turn on their mic to make me show them around the room, or show them where I placed my phone. One made me stop my test because I was looking down.... It is a physics exam... I cannot do those calculations in my head. The amount of interruptions was extremely unprofessional. You would think that proctors would understand time management and how once you break someone's focus, it takes them a while to focus again. Moral of the story, proctoru costs $31 PER TEST, and you aren't even guaranteed the full 2 hours with the amount of interruptions.

Bad bad bad experience

8 hours from my scheduled time till I finally forced to give up. I was forced out in the middle of the exam because the Proctor lost her connection temporarily … It was such a traumatic experience with extremely slow and overall unprofessional customer support.

Seriously terrible

Seriously terrible. From my scheduled time to finishing, I sat at my desk for seven hours while they fiddled around with technical issues. Throughout that time, I spoke with at least ten proctors and two people on the phone who kept referring me to each other. I waited up to 30 minutes for even a reply. Cannot believe what happened today lol.

Proctor U is terrible

Proctor U is terrible. The process to begin your exam is harder than the preparation or the exam itself. The “proctors” are sourced from a call center in India, they do not speak English well, are extremely hard to understand, and generally are unknowledgeable. They interrupt you during your exam and pause your progress to make you show them around the room. Over all the absolute worst test taking experience of my life and I am a masters student. If a course, or any certification you desire requires you to take a test through proctor U, figure out another way to do it.

Never again… I felt like scammed by…

Never again… I felt like scammed by those fake customer services…. they’ve accessed my computer and changed lot’s of my settings… I can’t imagine why I didn’t stop it… , and they’ve been lurking my computer during the exam… God knows what did they do during it…

This company has to reported to Education department. Worse experience in my life! My exam was supposed to start at 10:30 AM, its 1:17PM and im still waiting for their assistance so i can begin my exam. BTW, i was prepared one hour before the exam, called my uni to make sure im logged in correctly and ready. Uni was very helpful but when exam started i got disconnected and still waiting to reconnect. Idiotic company
