DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE A SCAM!!!

I sent my wife's phone in last December. Zero response. Two months later I began chasing their "customer service" which is a text message chain they stop responding to. At least 40 attempts to get paid what was due for the phone. Then they went silent. Still - no response and no payment.

Do not fall for this scam like I did!! They suggest they pay the highest amount for your phone - and then pay you nothing and don't even respond to communications.

I have contacted the McCallen FBI agency and reported that they are operating an illegal business. The owners should be put in prison for cybercrime!!!

Received payment on 03/26/26 - gentlemen sounded sincere and they had a bunch of issues that happened, He said he understands that they need to do better even when these things happen. I told him I would update my review for him so hopefully he keeps his word and makes everything right.

**Completely Do Not Recommend**

I sent my phone to Golden Standard Buybacks for an agreed $933 payout. They confirmed receipt of my device but never paid the full amount.

I did not authorized partial payments but they did anyways. I received a small amount and then only received $400 via Zelle, sent from a secondary account listed as **Imperial Homes LLC (Golden Standard Buybacks Secondary Account)** — not directly from their main business account. The remaining $288 has not been paid, and my phone was never returned.

During the delay, I was given multiple excuses:

* “Death within the office”
* “Pending bank issue”
* “Payment already sent”
* “Waiting on bank confirmation”

No proof of any pending payment was ever provided. Communication eventually stopped.

Based on my experience, I completely DO NOT recommend sending your device to this company. Please be cautious!!!!!

Con artists! Wont pay you when they get your phones. Offered me about $525 for two phones. After two months PayPal me $270 and promised the balance later. Two weeks later they wont respond to any communication. TOTAL SCAM OPERATION.
UPDATE**** I filed a police report with their local police department in McAllen Tx. They said send GSBB an email giving them 2 weeks to pay or Im filing charges for theft by deception. Guess what? PayPal me the balance due within a week! Still took a LOT of hassle and time to get paid! Took about 3 months! I still will never deal with this company again!

This is a big run around and strange. They took forever to get back to me. Once they did, they gave me a legitimate reason to reduce the price, which was fine. Now that it's time for payment, I am getting a huge run around and haven't been paid. Their tracking shows they have had my phones almost 2 months now. Other Company's that I have used were very responsive and quick.

First of all it took over a month for them to even look at my phone. Then it took another 2-1/2 weeks to get payment. They also gave me $130 less than they offered me. Saying the screen had scratches. I stated the screen had scratches when I sent the statistics. That being said, even if the screen needed to be replaced they don’t cost $130. They also promised a $10 new customer bonus which I never received. So all I have to say is “seller beware “. I went with them because they offered the highest amount. I would suggest checking out more buyers if you decide to take this route. You know that old saying…..if it sounds too good to be true it usually is!

I was looking up a place to sell my cellphone and came across this company. I didn't want to send my phone through the mail but a lot of reviews were positive enough and then I received multiple emails from them asking me to send it in. They even offered me $20 extra for sending it when they asked and I obliged. The total offer after the $20 extra incentive came out to $797.

Instead what I got was ignored a lot. I emailed, I called, I even texted and still got the run around. Then last week, finally, I got A LOWER OFFER but I was in high hopes that if I took it ($710) then I would have it within 24-48 hours as promised. It has been over a week.

I tried multiple times to get a hold of someone, anyone so I can receive my funds that were agreed upon. I was even ok to take only $710 and they won't even pay me that and now I'm homeless because I couldn't pay my hotel bill on the day this company promised I would have it.

I have went so far as to send a formal text message asking that my funds be released. They have had my property since January 16th and rushed me to send it. On the evening of January 31st, 2016, on Friday, I had received a text message from the manager stating he was taking over my account and would see to it that I get paid today or tomorrow like they keep claiming to shut me up.

Imagine my frustration this morning, February 2nd, 2026 as I text the manager yet again to try to get my payment, only to find out they have now blocked my phone number. I emailed multiple times and called and texted from a new phone but they continue to ignore all communication with me.

They refuse to acknowledge my existence as I simply asked why I am being given the run around and misinformation from multiple employees at the company who keep telling me I'm getting my money. Now they have my property and refuse payment.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB today and will be filing a fraud alert with the FTC.

I had a device I wanted to sell and a friend recommended this company. I checked them out and everything looked great, so I sent in my phone. A few days later I received my payment. Smooth process, great communication, and I’ll definitely recommend them!
