Best purchase

We are extremely happy with our machine ! It was easy to use and they have great customer service . We had one small issue with the adjusting the seal , but Denisha C helped us through the process of adjusting it and it turned out to be such an easy fix . The food items come out are excellent and the app is incredibly helpful and easy to use with directions and guidance for many items. We use this to make snacks for our kids and also for preserving food items from our garden or when we over buy so it has easily saved us money and has quickly paid for itself .

This freeze dryer is made very well

This freeze dryer is made very well. It feels high-quality. And the company has excellent customer service. I’ve contacted them a couple of times and for tech support, they make an appointment with you and follow up to make sure everything is fine. I feel as if I have made a new friend out of the experience! They were that helpful.

As we build out our homestead, adding a Harvest Right freeze dryer has been one of the smartest moves we’ve made. It lets us preserve our garden produce and bulk meat the right way, without waste and without compromising quality. The food keeps its flavor and stores long term, which gives our family real peace of mind.

It’s reliable, easy to run, and delivers exactly what it promises. For anyone serious about self-sufficiency and protecting their food supply, this machine is worth every penny.

A Happy HarvestRight Newbie

HarvestRight was one of the sponsors of and presenters in an online program I was participating in about homesteading. It was the education that the HarvestRight (HR) rep provided during this program that first drew me to freeze drying (FD) as a food preservation method. He wasn't pushy about HR products. His focus was on making freeze drying possible AND practical in the home. How refreshing to get an honest appraisal rather than a sales pitch! Still, a FD is an investment. I did my own research and found no other brands matched the quality at a price point I was comfortable with. I was completely confident about purchasing my unit.
I easily obtained an appointment for technical support and spoke with a customer service agent who was phenomenal at talking me through various processes, checking in with me a day later, and emailing me links to videos made by HR for their products. They also have an app which I do recommend installing.
The main reason I'm rating 4 stars is because I found the owner's manual to be a bit confusing. Everything in the manual is important. I knew I read something about a burn-in period or a test run of the unit but I could not find it again. Well, the burn-in period is mentioned in just one paragraph in the section on Freeze Dryer Assembly. Oddly, It is not mentioned at all in the section on Running Your First Batch. The manual also never mentions that the HR logo on the screen is the button for accessing the diagnostics for how the system is functioning.
I was frustrated for a day or so until Customer Service helped me out. It was me doing something wrong. The unit was and is functioning just fine. My experience with the HarvestRight Home Freeze Dryer has been very positive overall. There is so much more to learn. I'm exciting to try new FD recipes.

So blessed

When I first saw this freeze dryer from harvest right, show up on my feed on my phone.I was curious , so I purchased one. Little did I know that it would change my life for the better. I have never been so in love with an item that I've purchased like I am with this freeze dryer.There is so much you can do.The possibilities are just endless and you can eat for a lifetime by learning to preserve your food for years to come. What an excellent choice I made in signing my name on the dotted line , so to speak..

Love the ease with Food Preservation

Love love love the ease with Food Preservation with our Large Freeze Dryer from Harvest Right has given me.

I am a Canner but jars are so heavy & take up so much more room than Freeze Dried. Plus Canned Food once processed has a mushy texture & taste, whereas Freeze Dried Food does not. Therefore, Harvest Right has changed my choice in Long Term Food Preservation. FD Food's Nutrition is good for 25 years instead of 1 year with traditional canning.

I definitely recommend this purchase.

Great customer service!

Great customer service!
I was very disappointed to have my oil less pump rebuilt in under fifty loads. My pump was very loud from the first use (probably my fault we were renting and eager to try the freeze dryer and ran probably 15-20 loads without having on its own 20-amp circuit.
The harvest right team is awesome, and I received my rebuilt pump and it works great!

Harvest Right X-Large Pro Freeze Dryer

I have had my freeze dryer for over a year now and am very happy with it. I had several issues achieving a vacuum seal, and one caused my freeze dryer to fill with water in the middle of the freezing process. I emailed Harvest Right, and they were very helpful. They walked me through the steps to find out what happened and see if I could fix it. When they found out it was nothing I could fix, they sent me the necessary packing materials and had their shipper pick it up for repairs. They are very informative and let me know almost daily which step in the process they are taking to fix my machine. They found out my condenser was seized because it couldn't achieve a vacuum seal. They replaced my condenser, door gasket, drain hose, and power switch at no charge because of their great warranty. I am very happy with Harvest Right and their staff.

Great machine!

I have used my machine for 6 batches so far and really like it! It’s not for every household since it’s so specialized, but it works great and the customer service is fantastic!

Great investment!

After years of debating on whether to make such an investment or not, I finally purchased one. I do not regret it! Worth every dime.
Customer service has been incredible! A connection had come loose in shipping, and they had it diagnosed and up and running in about 10 minutes of my call.

I had a vacuum leak issue and although the inital customer service expreience was not that great, but once I got connected to Leisa, she helped me troubleshoot and get to the root of the issue. She deserves 5 stars!

Great tech service!

I purchased a medium pro freeze dryer. It worked great for several months, then I got a vacuum error. Went through the troubleshooting guide then called tech service. They answered right away and were very helpful in quickly finding the problem and then sent me the part that I needed to fix the problem. Highly recommended!

Poor quality and lousy service

I had a medium hr and it worked great. I figured i would upgrade to a large pro model. It never froze right everything i ever done in it went bad. I found out it was low on freon. I sent it back under warranty now that i have it back if freezes a little better but won't go on to the vacume cycle now. I called they want $45 to talk to someone the girl charged me twice. I am done with it and getting a blue alpine. I'm just going to take the loss

Module failed in under 6 months — company refused to warranty the replacement module

I bought this machine expecting it to last for years, especially given the price. Instead, the most critical component—the main control module (the “brain” of the machine)—failed in under six months with only moderate use.

Here’s what should worry any potential buyer: after replacing the failed module, the company refused to provide a full one-year warranty on the replacement module. Their justification was, “component defects typically surface within the first few cycles.” That argument makes no sense in my case, because this defect did not show up in the first few cycles—it surfaced after five months of normal operation and caused a total system failure. This wasn’t an “out of the box” problem. It was a delayed internal failure—the exact kind that can take months to reveal itself.

An electrician who replaced the part explained that failures like this can originate during factory assembly and remain hidden until enough run-time accumulates to trigger a breakdown. That fits what happened here perfectly. And it highlights an even bigger issue: if we had used the machine less, the failure could have appeared after the warranty period—leaving us stuck paying hundreds of dollars for a repair that should never happen this early.

Customer service made it worse. They asked us to install multiple “patches,” open the unit, remove parts (which I refused), and take internal photos—just so they could figure out which version of their own product we had, something they should have been able to confirm immediately from their own records. For an expensive machine, this was completely unacceptable.

It took nearly a month of back-and-forth and multiple phone calls to resolve, while I was left with a non-working unit.

Bottom line: a key module failed in months, and the company’s response was to avoid standing behind the replacement module using an illogical explanation. I would not buy this product again, and I would caution anyone considering this purchase: the most important part can fail early—and the company may refuse to properly warranty the replacement.
