Easy to find a great company to unload my containers

RUN! DO NOT HIRE THEM! I booked a local move through HireAHelper on October 10, 2026 for 3 hours $447.74. We had no major appliances and minimal furniture, mostly clothing bags and boxes. I believe the crew deliberately worked slowly to drag out the hours. I mentioned it to my husband more than once during the move and was glad my ring camera was on. My Ring camera shows them on site for 5 hours and 9 minutes.

The crew lead then demanded an additional $380 by Apple Pay, more than the hourly rate on my booking, and said the platform takes a high percentage. I paid under pressure. My husband had gone on an errand and I was alone. One of the men smelled of marijuana and the other of alcohol. I was nervous.

I believed support was closed over the weekend, so I contacted HireAHelper on Monday, October 12. They offered me $110, then $150, in writing. Way less than the money I was ripped off. The mover said I gave him a 380 dollar tip!!!!!! Who would do that? Nonsense. On October 14 they said a refund was “not applicable” because the job was marked complete with no issues reported.

The crew also contacted me directly multiple times via phone call, messages and voicemails after I complained, which frightened me. HireAHelper told me to contact police if I felt threatened.

Reviews on HireAHelper’s own page for this provider, dated June 2026 and earlier, describe similar on-the-spot extra charges. I expected a platform that advertises vetting and monitoring to take responsibility. Why is he still on the site today as a moving service provider they offer? They told me he broke their terms and conditions.

They called me to confirm my appointment and explain their process within 15 minutes of me booking them.
Very kind, respectful, and professional! They got done in half the time expected and helped assemble my bed and a shoe rack. Being dog friendly is always a plus. They eased my stress making this move in process very easy. As a single female I felt safe with this moving company which means a lot!

Hire a Helper made it very easy to get a true cost for assistance, schedule one of the available companies, and they show up as expected, easy peasy.

Brice was amazing. If you are using Packrat- spend money on them rather than yourself. We think they are good at Tetris because every square inch from top to bottom was utilized.

Alan, Aiden, Max, and Sultan were amazing! They arrived on time and ready to go. We walked the house and they got to work. I was blown away at the efficiency of the packing into the container. They worked very well together as a team. This was a fantastic crew! Thank you guys!

Crew of 4 very capable men arrived right on time and with a equipment as requested. They worked as as coordinated team, very polite and careful to not damage our belongings or house walls and floors. Had ordered 4 hours to unload our truck into the house but it only took them 2 hours. Very efficient!! Thank you
