Had a wonderful stay in Whitby at The Salt Nook. The apartment was like home from home, lovely soft furnishings, very clean, well equipped and close to Whitby but still very quiet.

Excellent location and just as described . Would come back

Just for info there are quite a few steps which you can see from the photos but we were fine with this.

This review is for Host, not guests
This company will insist you use their photographer, but if you check out the price they charge you double and force you to use them
They also charge a payment fee Which is a percentage of the gross amount you receive to make a payment to you.  I have challenged this and it is against FCA regulations.
They also charge a damage waiver but then apparently go back to the guest but the guest pays the damage waiver which means they have wavered any responsibility for damage. If no damage is caused it’s just not refundable and Host and stay keep it.

On arrival the setting of Ranworth, Ravenscar was beautiful. There was a caravan on the drive which we found later the owners had left there to prevent theft. The cottage was for a weddings jf party for the nearby venue Grand Villa Heights an location was perfect. Stairs into the property are steep and uneven. This was ok in the main, until my elderly mother came to sit with us one evening and when I sprained my ankle and couldn’t get up the step.
Cleanliness was not what I would expect at a premium stay, the house is probably ready for a freshen up, the curtains coming off the rings in the front lounge. We had no functioning TV’s and the solution to this was to hotspot to your own data.
The conservatory is beautiful for eating together or socialising, really lovely.
Water pressure wasn’t great especially if more than one person was showering.
The wine cooler was warm, and the boiler very noisy, radiator had dishes to catch leaking water, not sure why we did report but didn’t get any feedback.
2 of our party really struggled to sleep due to poor mattresses, again nothing from guest services only thanking us for resolving our own issue.
I probably wouldn’t stay here again, but nether the less we did enjoy our stay. We were there for a loved ones prenuptials it would take a lot to dampen the atmosphere but it was disappointing.

​I recently booked a stay at "Windles" in Huntingdonford through Host & Stay for a group of eight, including small children. What was advertised as a cozy, well-equipped, non-smoking retreat was a disaster from the moment we walked through the door.
​The Reality of the Property:
​The Smell: Despite being a "non-smoking" house, the entire property—including the bedrooms—stank of stale cigarette smoke. This is a health hazard for kids and an absolute dealbreaker for non-smokers.
​The "Cozy" Atmosphere: We arrived to a freezing house. The fireplace featured in the listing? Broken. We were told we couldn't use it, leaving us with no secondary heat source and a very cold living room.
​The Kitchen Fail: We were a group of 8. The host provided exactly one small frying pan and one small saucepan. Cooking a family meal was impossible. There were also zero cleaning products provided, despite being listed.
​The BBQ: Missing upon arrival. They did send a tiny replacement after we complained, but it was not what was advertised.
​The "Customer Service" Fail:
After complaining, Host & Stay’s "resolution" was to offer me a 20% discount on a FUTURE stay. Why would I pay more money to a company that failed so fundamentally to provide a clean, warm, and equipped home?
​They even tried to claim the cigarette stench was "residual smoke" from the fireplace—the same fireplace they told us was unusable!
​Summary: Do not trust the photos or the descriptions. Host & Stay does not maintain their properties to the advertised standard and their "goodwill" is just a marketing tactic to get you to book again. Avoid.

Great place in an ideal location, just a couple of minutes walk in to the town. The property is basic but has everything you need. We travelled as a family of 8 adults. All the beds were very comfortable and the place was warm and cosy.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Communication throughout was excellent, and Charlie was very helpful and easy to reach if we needed anything. The area was ideal — with a pub just a few feet away and the Albert Dock right on the doorstep, making it easy to explore Liverpool without needing to travel far. Overall, a lovely stay in a convenient spot, and we would happily stay again.

Host and Stay were very responsive to my questions during our stay in Knaresborough. I would book accommodation through them again.

Extremely comfortable house with everything you need for a short break. Well furnished and warm with super comfy beds. Perfect base for visiting our family on the next road. We will be back.

We had a great time staying at Host & Stay, Lavender cottage. The place is nice and clean. Perfect location.

Tithe cottage is a beautiful place to stay in a very charming village. The house is very comfortable and the garden is quite lovely, full of flowers and a wonderful place to spend time . There is lots to do when you can drag yourself out, from walks and a nice pub just a few metres away to open countryside. We enjoyed Harlow Carr Gardens and the Harrogate Flower show this visit , highly recommended

A really well-appointed apartment in a great location. Comfy, large beds and a spacious living room and well-stocked kitchen

We had 2 days at Tregaer Mill Barn. The location is stunning, peaceful with beautiful views and plenty of room for 3 couples. Raglan is about 5 miles away and it’s a great location for exploring the Wye valley. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and nice bedding.
The outdoor furniture was good, just needed dusting off and leaves cleared away around it.
The dishwasher is dated and a bit more cutlery and another/newer casserole would have been appreciated. However, the house is very comfortable and we had a wonderful time.
