this website is a scam ! fake profiles, nobody respond to our messages and when they do they ask for personnal informations, and refuse to call us ! so do not use this website. this company is really a scam ! they should be signaled to the authorities !!

I have NEVER been able to sign in well on this garbage website. I will never use it again. I quit.

subscription is required so beware! I only messaged an 'active' potential client then a prompt message asking for subscription to continue chatting to the client, occurred.

Unfortunately, so far the only people that have reached out to me to "housesit" are a bunch of people looking to scam. They want me to purchase items upfront for them and not one of them has had anything to do with housesitting, dog sitting or otherwise so I would not waste your money paying for the app which, I regretfully did. I am pretty sure they think people are very stupid. I guess lucky for me I can see right through that!

Victoria Anne was excellent, she went above and beyond our expectations. We went ahead and hired her on a scheduled basis. That was 3 months ago. You won't find a friendlier, more conscientious, clean, organized, reliable person in south Johnson County, KS or Jackson County, MO. If she's not booked.

This site is a scam.... I got an account because I am a student who needs money for classes. The first girl asking me to housesit for her gave me the most basic, general instructions

"Duties and responsibilities
1. Collecting mail and packages and informing the owner of any important items; Patrolling the home for any securities hazards or maintenance needs;
2. Basic housecleaning, such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and dusting · Caring for pets by providing them with water, food
3. Cleaning the property and maintaining the garden
4. Ensure the home is safe and well looked after while the homeowner is gone."

She would not tell me the job location or when it started. Which could be excused until she started to be extremely pushy about the money.

" For convenience and transparency, I prefer to make payments via paycheck . It’s important for me to establish a reliable and trustworthy relationship with the House sitter, I hope you understand? "

She sent me a check for me to split for me and to pay the painters. It was important to her that I had the money before the address. She asked for my full name, email, and bank I said no. It is only an electronic check for depositing on your phone, etc... she was so pushy.

So then I was like ok she might be a scammer I'll take the check to the bank this morning to see if the check is legit or not, I'll try with someone else. So I got a message from this dude who seemed legit and I gave him an business email to contact me on and what do ya know.... He sent me the EXACT same messages the lady sent me. SO takeaway, this is a scam, don't do it.

Fortunately I did not send the $25 to try it out and be a Housesitter. Always the same ads and doubt any are legitimate.

This place is a scam , don't trust it.

This entire site is a scam!!! This isn't even the site I originally was signing up for. I was on Trusted Housesitters filling out the info and then I was notified after paying i belonged to Housesitter.com. Totally confusing...Then the people started with the real scams.

2. Michael Smaok - Needed sitter right away for 5 days, $200 in Vegas. Has another house in Maryland with 2 housesitters. He is a pilot. Needs to pay upfront with echeck. Has painter at house that I need to pay when he's done. So that money will be sent to me. Oh 4 animals. I stupidly deposited check and then kept looking at it and called bank to tell them it's a fraud. The back had been messed with. The guy was insisting i send him a screenshot of my account!!! Crazy no way in hell. Kept insanely texting me wanting update on money. Bank said fraudulent and thankfully I didn't get fined.

3. Misty - Traveling Pediatric Nurse, crappy apartment/townhouse in bad Vegas area. Needed sitter same day contact for 2 months $170 a day. Huge list of to dos. King Charles 9 month old dog. Has another house in Maryland with wait for it...2 housesitters. Of course, has to pay of front by check for tracking purposes...lol Wanted my drivers license, resume, 1099 and w2 from last job. Told her no employer can ask for that legally.

I attempted to get my membership back and Housesitter.com sends you to Careguide.com. They absolutely refuse no matter what the problem is. They are so involved in this and I guarantee there is not one legit job. I saw 100% money back guarantee if you don't get jobs. Nope, guess I made that up. Told them I will report to FTC, BBB, and Attorney General. They know what they are doing and facilitating.

Ended up getting money back without their help..so they can go to hell!!

This site is a fraud for sure, I did pay and received the premium account and the background check, which never materialized, I don’t think they actually ran a background check on me, but they sure charged me for one. Over 30 days, I was contacted by more than 20 would be homeowners from this site, with house sitting jobs. None of them actually was legitimate. The stories got more outrageous than the last. This is a bad site. Do not be taken, and do not send them any money, you will not get it back once you figure out you been had. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Do not get suckered into sending them any money. Good Luck Chris H

This is a scam and I am glad that I didn't give them any money!
1. They mislead you by pretending that they have many high paying jobs in your area. But these ads are either fake or in one or two cases legitimate but expired years ago! With my free membership I am able to see listings by local homeowners seeking assistance. All 60 of these say "Active over a week ago." What this means is that there are no current listings. Almost all of them are written in the same style and tone and include "snow removal" as one of the tasks required. Except it never snows in my area: LOL! Only one ad appeared genuine --a local person offering a modest fee for pet care. This person included the dates she needed someone and the date was almost three years ago for a one time house/pet sit. Since I did not pay them, I did not lose my money, nor was I subject to victimization like some of the others reporting here on Trustpilot. Homesitter.com is fake through and through. There is no response from customer service to my questions. They are registered in Canada and they own several domains that would pull in many from a google search: caregivers.com; eldercare.com; housesitter.com; petsitter.com; canadiannannies.com etc. for which they must have paid a lot of money. This invisible internet company provides no real services and I challenge them to prove otherwise. By all means, forward my complaint and lets see them produce real evidence that they provide a real service. They can start by identifying themselves.

I don't know why you all are saying this about this site.
I have been using it since 2020 and i must say that my experience has been wonderful because i have worked with great tones of client and i do not have any single complains.

Most profiles here look AI-generated. They are long, unspecific, contain irrelevant redundancies, grammar errors in answers, and lack details on services required. If anybody responds, they are scammers. This is how it goes: urgent job, pets need to be fed, need help right away but don’t tell you what it is exactly that needs to be done. They want to send you money ahead. That’s where I end the conversation.

This is definitely a scam. They don't have any dates for when they need help and no one responds when they request you and you reply. Luckily I didn't pay. But I noticed they got into my bank account , which I never gave them and have tried to charge 3 of my debit cards. BEWARE !!!!!!

Wanting to test out the results before spending money on the site, the preliminary standards and carefully crafted profile were displayed for all to see. Following a few choice examples, I was told I would be charged to utilize the site, which was totally expected.

However, it’s a phishing scheme for the users on the site who use several methods of skirting around the rules by implementing clever ways to send their phone number for a text message. Now, they have your name and phone number.

Some of them claim to be government workers who need someone, right away, to come to their home in another state—before finding out exactly where the sitter is located. Weird, right?

Anyway, this is a great way to make money as a student working from home—just not with this company. I’m STILL trying to cancel my account to prevent these irritating emails from coming into my inbox. I feel for the people who’ve paid for the service and harassment.

So many scams come through this site.
It’s unreal that they let these people contact you and request your bank info like that’s gonna happen. I feel bad for those that fall for this. They even go as far as giving fake house addresses and made up careers. Scary stuff.

I have received a number of leads however most you never hear back from or when I do they try to fanagle me into giving them my bank information as they refuse to use any legitimate form of payment!

I highly DON'T recommended this site, and would rate it lower than one star if I could, unless you want to throw away your money. You'll attempt to make contact with folks for work and receive no responses. If you want more interaction, you'll have to pay a fee for "unlimited messages". I also experienced arranging to meet someone who responded to my inquiry. After exchanging messages (once I paid the fee), it was 'oopsy, my sister will do the sitting instead'. My advice to house and pet sitters - keep it moving until you find a reputable site 'cause this ain't it.

I paid $90 for an annual membership one month ago and I clearly made a mistake. The site is a joke - it's impossible to get a refund, even a few days after enrolling, there is not authentic customer service and the couple of listings on their site are unchanged. I have sent inquiry emails to the three jobs listed and received NO response from any of the supposed 'clients' looking for sitters. I would advise anyone considering joining this site to not waste your money, time and energy as I have.

The biggest scam site I've ever seen. I'm glad I didn't sign up for a pay account with them. The 2 people I dealt with both had the same scheme to send you their checks with a so called screen shot mobile deposit and asked to have your bank info. I saw right through them and when I asked to either myself or my friend meet at the property, they said they were either busy or out of town. Yeah, out of the country. Then one of the so called listers, a disgusting big fat guy, texted me a photo of him half naked from the waste up with a cat on his chest. I immediately deleted my free account, blocked their email and phone nb and changed my password. I'm going to report them to the authorities/atty general, etc. Be wary. Don't give your bank info to them at all.
