It's a total scam!
It's a total scam!! Delete your profile ASAP! I was contacted by "chris".he wanted my full name, bank info, and email to send me my first week pay. I caught on quick, and started screwing with him. He looked up my number and name and began to threatened me saying he knows where I live and have all my info and social media. It's a fraud! Don't consider it!

Nope signed up last night looking for some extra work and got a text message from a A lady who said she was a registered nurse or pediatric nurse and she’s done very well for herself but in order to pay me, she wanted to send me a check so needed a copy of my ID front and back my full name and my current Address. That made me I look for reviews on here to check if this website was possible scammers because at first you wanted to know how I needed paid and then said she would preferred to send me a check after I told her that I didn’t feel comfortable With a check and either Zelle or Cash app Would be the best way for me. Also didn’t feel comfortable, giving her a copy of my ID. And also giving her my physical address Haven’t hear back from this person. Scam Big time
If I could give HOUSESITTER.COM…
If I could give HOUSESITTER.COM 0.000000000 would be a great thumb down, I registered as a housesitter, hoping to get a job, their requirements were to upgrade $$$29.95 and Telesafe another fee to use their toll free to keep all calls/ conversations on their platform for $24.95 which I paid never got my background check clearance when I signed a month ago as I keep emailing them with shady replies from the website in addition All "Potential customers are really Fake=Scamers asking me to send them my full name/number/email with my BANK ACCOUNT so they can Pay me..ladies and gentlemen we live in a world full of darkness being said that 1 day your website will crumble as Jesus is my best witness. Never ever had a Negative experience such as ScamersHousesitters that's your new name!!!and have placed a Complaint with the BBB.
If I could give it .0001 star
If I could give it .0001 star, I would. DO NOT SIGN UP AND WASTE YOUR MONEY. I have only been on for 48 hours and just cancelled because of the amount of scammers on here. Spend a little more money and join a better site. This company should be shut down.
I tried to use housesitter but....
I tried to use housesitter to find someone to watch my house while I travel but could not communicate with two potential sitters who were interested in the job without buying the premium service. After 4 attempts to purchase the service, I contacted customer service and was told that my account had been "flagged" as potential spam. They offered no response to my inquiry about whether I can still be be a customer. Unfortunately, I still cannot notify the two potential sitters who expressed interest that I would like to discuss the job with them.
Scammers occupy this site mainly
Scammers occupy this site mainly. All the messages I received were from scammers. Most all the ads were scams as well. DON'T TRUST THIS SITE. Waste of my money.
Housesitter.com scams
Out of work 8 months now. Thought I'd try house sitting and/or pet sitting.
Signed up on housesitter.com and petsitter.com. Last night received a message in spam mail. header was Offer for House Sitter...Guy states he & his family are relocating fromMN. halfway through the email I realized it was a scam. The guy was going to have his'financier' send me a HUGE check: I'd take my 'salary' out of that check and rest was for furniture/art gallery/other household items. I sent this 'scam' info to housesitter.com's info email address and the woman asked me how the sender got my email address. After reading reviews here I see they sell my information and that's how the scammer got my email address. BEWARE & AVOID THESE SITES!
‼️SCAM ALERT
‼️SCAM ALERT! PSA: Beware & Be aware! My experience is from 7/18/24 - 8/12/24. It’s a fake website intended only to scam innocent people in every way possible. They get you to willingly sign up by willingly providing your contact info so scammers can contact you about fake house sitting offers. Every single person who contacted me was a scammer with a similar story. I offered to set up a Zoom call to “meet & greet” since they’re out of town and we don’t know each other and they all had excuses (they’re deaf, having surgery etc). They all want to pay for house sitting services with a check. They all wanted my personal banking info. The scammer website owner also want people to willingly “upgrade” so they can get people’s credit card info so they can charge for fake services to communicate with scammers about fake house sitting offers on their platform. What they are doing is criminal. I also plan to file a complaint with the FCC and the Attorney General. The scam website owner and their team disgusting scammers should be shut down and convicted of fraud!
Fake website?
I actually think this is a fake website. I have excellent references and have been house/pet sitting for 20 years. I've never found a job on the website in spite of advertising and sending me an email about once a week with a few local job postings. I think the job postings are fake and they are just trying to get you upgraded so you pay more, but there actually are no jobs in my area. Prove me wrong.
HouseSitter 100% scammmm!!!
I registered on HouseSitter for a short-term job. After a few weeks, I found Ben and planned to take care of his dog for two weeks at his place, 4.5 hours each day for $2,000. A few hours later, he sent me a strange check for $4,500. I doubted its authenticity, so I asked a friend and checked the website's rating. I realized it was all a scam. The funniest part was that I had planned to get a membership on the website once I received my first salary!
Waste of money and all scams
Waste of money and all scams. Really sad and a complete waste of time. They also do not refund. Possibly part of the whole thing is for the company to make money from people and not even provide a service.
Such a scam
Such a scam. Even if you have cancelled, they keep billing you. If you go in to make sure it is cancelled then it appears to sign you back up.
In their contact us section you get a pull down from where the majority does not apply.
It seems many of these people that…
It seems many of these people that claim their looking for a sitter is fraud or scammers. They get your info and you don't hear from them anymore. Don't waste your money on this site.
Cyber squatting scam
Do not sign up.
This company is cyber squatting scam.
They own several activity name sites.
I registered and applied to a home owner.
housitter.com states you get 3 free messages before needing to upgrade to the paid version.
This is a lie. you get 2 messages and have to upgrade to send the 3rd.
Customer support defended this by saying this is defined as "up to three messages" and the 3rd message exceeds the "up to three messages" limit.
Oddly enough, as soon as I upgraded, the profile i was communicating with and the entire message history was deleted. Customer care responded saying that the profile was a scammers profile.
When I pointed out that all the profiles were identical in nature and every single home owner reaching out to me did so with identical messages.
When I mentioned the level of spammers of phishing profiles, I was told to report them and that the site did no verification of profiles. That part was up to you, the customer.
I have all the correspondence with Customer Service.
Paypal obviously have similar views as they have refunded my purchase.
What a Joke
What a Joke! Good luck trying weeding out the pos. You either comb through your site or get rid of it.
All I can say is ONE BIG SCAM. If I ever find one in person you better pray to God I don't find your ass.
I would give it zero stars because…
I would give it zero stars because there's so many scammers offering advanced screenshots check payments!!! They are not real checks, be careful!
Too many scammers
Contacted by 3 potential employers, all 3 turned out to be scammers. Waste of time.
If I could give a LOWER REVIEW I WOULD
If I could give a LOWER REVIEW I WOULD. 3 contacts and every one of them is a VOIP (meaning Google number and not real and def not anyone in my city much less likely this country) AND NEVER contacts you with real jobs. They don't speak proper English and you realize quickly these are not serious jobs and how they speak lets you know they are likely scammers - they're def not from where I live. This site takes your money and knows they have bs for house sitting jobs. FTC/BBB/FCC/STATE ATTY GENERALS - SOMEONE STEP UP TO SHUT THIS SITE DOWN
HouseSitter Stop Jeopardizing Your Customers
The scammers on here are absolutely prolific. And yet HouseSitter shamefully continues to operate and make you pay to use use their service (you will find out that you must pay in order to message and receive messages from clients).. I’ve been contacted by a continuous stream of scammers now—they are all the different “people” looking for help. Nobody real is actually looking for you to watch their house—warning—and HouseSitter is like the next big scammer, then, taking your money for your access into this highly specious dangerous sight. They need to use the money to have everybody backgrounded checked to make their site safe. As it is, they charge more than other safer, trusted sites do—and you will be in danger, in the midst of malicious subtle scammers posing as needy clients. All you can do is report their profile, after they’ve tried to take you in remorselessly like the devil himself.
Scam website
Scam website. One guy said his company is going to send me an ID.me link to verify me. It was a form on company letterhead requesting social, address, and all info you need to get into a bank account. I asked for an ID.me link, to which emailed responded he needs my info to enter into ID.me. Yeah, I bet he does lol! I said that’s not how ID.me works and declined the job. Looked the company up. They claim to be the largest developer, yet, only have a website online, which is not in the state’s business search and dba databases in Nevada and California. Website has photos of great developments, and toward the bottom, list “rentals” with a few cheesy homes. I thought you were a developer? They note almost as many agents as they have clients…definite red flag. Also, first call was an immediate hang up. Second call, after a ten second pause, the guy finally answered hello very faintly. When I asked if the email address belongs to the company, he responded with just yes…no question as to why I was asking like any normal company would ask. I said thank you and got an immediate text, “Hello.” Largest developer? I think not! Be cautious with crestbayhomes.com who posts as Greg in Henderson, Nevada.
