Robert H Ingersoll and his brother Charles founded the Ingersoll Watch Company, one of the oldest American watchmakers. The Ingersoll brothers were pioneers of industry and invention in the field of watchmaking. They devised and followed an ambitious plan: to offer Ingersoll watches to the general public at an affordable price, whilst maintaining real quality and credibility.

Based in New York City, each watch was initially produced by hand, but in 1892, thanks to Henry Ford, Ingersoll succeeded in developing a production line for pocket watches and wristwatches.

With high quality production, precision components and the very reasonable price of $1.00 (a day's wages at that time) the so-called ‘Dollar Watch’ was born.

The Dollar Watch was so popular that over one million were sold.

The Ingersoll Watch Company grew with the demand and made new advances in watch manufacturing; developing the functions and features of Ingersoll watches to create:

The smallest existing pocket watch.

‘RADIOLITE’: the first glow in the dark watch.

The first ever military watch, which was designed with the involvement of the armed forces.

The first character watch, which was commissioned by Disney to feature Mickey Mouse.

Ingersoll watches have been sold continuously since their inception and today the Ingersoll brand is renowned the world over.

Ingersoll continues to maintain the ethos of the Ingersoll brothers and is proud to present a new range of quality, precision timepieces.

Bad Shipping

It is not my first buying from Ingersoll, but this time they did me so bad. I can not even trace the whereabouts of my parcel because they used Royal Mail to ship my parcel to South Africa. Royal Mail are so bad, they can not even communicate. I wish Ingersoll could change their international couriers

As mentioned in our previous communication, Royal Mail unfortunately misrouted the shipment to the USA. We have been actively liaising with Royal Mail, and they have confirmed that the shipment has now been transferred and dispatched from their USA hub to Johannesburg, but it is still in transit.

Great quality and service

The watch itself is fantastic, well presented and simple to set up. The pins were a bit tricky to remove but this also makes the strap very durable. Bhavin in customer service went above and beyond, giving excellent attention to a delayed delivery with the 3rd party courier. He was very responsive and understanding and pro-actively kept me informed every step of the way, ultimately resolving the issue thanks to his efforts.

Great looking terrible quality watch

My Chord Automatic watch looks incredible. I received for my 40th birthday. This makes it even more disappointing that the quality is SO dreadful. In the space of just 3 years I've had to send it back to get condensation out of the screen, and to repair the chord mechanism twice. The cost of repairs (only the condensation was covered under the woefully inadequate 'warranty') now exceeds the initial outlay on the watch itself. Sadly I think with the latest quoted repair cost being in excess of 100 pounds I think I'm going to consign it to the spare parts market because I've zero faith it'll not breakdown again. Such a shame as id assumed the watch would last me into old age. In reality it's not made it 3 years. Avoid.

Many thanks for your feedback.
As outlined in our email communication, we have already waived the cost of the replacement crown/stem as well as the full servicing of the movement. However, our engineers’ findings show that the crown tube, which is welded to the case, is completely missing. This component can only detach as a result of an accidental impact or drop. In addition, the stem has snapped, and part of it remains lodged inside the crown.
These issues cannot occur through normal wear, which is why we have estimated for a new replacement case.
