We spent a couple of fascinating hours with Peter at James Gourmet Coffee yesterday — and if you want to meet someone who truly lives and breathes coffee, this is your man.

From the gleaming gold-plated La Marzocco machine to the stories behind each blend, Peter's passion is infectious. He talked us through his travels to origin countries, the craft of matching beans to roast profiles, and why long-term relationships with growers matter so much to the quality in the cup.

Good customer service and delivered no problem. Site is a little slow but overall its incredible value for the price.

I ordered from there a month ago, and got fraudulent activity on my card from Roblox in the USA. I put this down to coincidence.

After having to get a brand new card, I made a new order from here, and the next day got the exact same fraudulent charge from Roblox in the USA.

I'm now on my third credit card in a month.

Their website or payment systems seem to be clearly compromised, I'd avoid at all costs.

Ordered coffee and a packet of fruit tea.
Coffee was excellent and can’t fault them there. However, the Red Berry Cocktail fruit tea I ordered wasn’t good at all hence the three stars.
I was surprised how bad it tasted given I have ordered tea from them before and it was great.
No matter what I tried brewing wise it tasted like vinegar which surprised me as it smelled so lovely. But after 5 attempts using different brew times and amounts I had to admit defeat and throw the packet away.
A real shame.

I have had a coffee subscription with James' for a few years now, excellent coffee accompanied with a leaflet providing information about the grower/supplier along with tasting notes etc.

Purchased a Sage Barista Pro coffe machine. Ordered on a Friday afternoon and it arrived (I live in Durham), early Monday morning. Communication was excellent throughout and the machine was £100 less than I could find it anywhere else. If all suppliers were as good as this then the likes of Amazon would struggle. Oh and by the way the coffee machine is fab, we love it.

I recently purchased a Sage coffee machine from James Gourmet Coffee and both service and price were excellent. Emails were responded to in prompt and friendly fashion (thank you Kath) and when the machine arrived JGC had wisely included a couple of bags of their Brazilian blend beans. I say 'wisely' as the coffee is truly first class and I shall certainly be ordering again when this lot runs out...which won't be long.

Fantastic fresh coffee for a great price! Always keep coming back to Chapin beans from Guatemala despite trying different roasters.

This is the BEST sweet potato pie I have ever tasted. Ran into James at the Wheeler Farm farmers market and so glad I did! His sweet potato pie is the perfect blend of sweetness in the filling and ginger in the crust - truly fabulous. You gotta buy it and try it or you are definitely missing out!

I get to know this company in a small cafe in Bristol. Amazingly fragrant taste of flat white I have never experienced before. The owner of the cafe told me that he gets the beans from James Gourmet coffee.

I decided to order a few packs for me online. 8:3o, placed an order, before the cut of time of Thursday 9am to get beans roasted on the day. To my surprise, I have got the freshly roasted packs the next day before noon!!! Such a great coffee with great service, rarely seen in the country. Their descriptions of coffees on their HP are all nice and personal.

After an excellent cup in a great cafe in Malvern a couple of years ago, I asked the barista where he gets his beans. "From a roaster in Ross [on Wye]," he responded. There can't be too many of those, I thought, and I have been using James Gourmet Coffee roasters ever since. Their range is interesting and they have never failed to deliver excellent coffee, quickly. Five stars from me. Thank goodness for interesting, responsive, small businesses such as this.
