superb service

We needed a new strap for my husbands italian Locman watch and in spite of originally giving them incorrect information, J V Watchmakers were able to obtain and send one very quickly. Very impressed!

Excellent Service!!

Quick turnaround of battery change on my daughter's Michael Kors watch, fantastic service with a great personal touch too, price was great. The watch shining having been polished up too. I would recommend JVW to all.

If you love your watches

If you love your watches then these are the guys to go to. They do all the repairs onsite and you can even watch the watchmakers working away via the TV screen in their beautiful showroom. Had my Omega serviced at half the price quotes in town. Highly recommended.

Chanel Watch purchase

I recently purchased a Chanel watch for each of my two daughters from John Vincent Watchmakers. The level of personal service and assistance given in choosing the correct model was very helpful. I have also used this company for repairs in the past and had a vintage Zenith wristwatch restored to a very high standard maybe two years ago and it still looks like new and keeps good time.

As a serious watch lover, i shall certainly be back at Jon Vincent watchmakers

After visiting numerous city jewellers, looking to purchase a distinctive watch for my sons Birthday, I was delighted to discover JVW practically on my door step. I found the staff to be friendly efficient and extremely knowledgeable in helping me choose the perfect (once in a life time) watch for my son.
I have since taken my own watch to JVW for a full service and was once again delighted with the outcome.
I will certainly be back. David

"My time is the most precious asset on earth", apparently. So let's talk about that...

TrustPilot demands that I give Jon Vincent Watchmakers (JVW) at least one star. However, my first and only interaction with them recently had precisely zero redeeming features, and therefore I will attribute the single star to their having a pretty shop-front and abundant (although metered…) parking immediately outside. That is the very best I can bring myself to say about them.

I found JVW having scoured the internet for someone to repair a vintage Longines that I had recently inherited. This watch is important to me, and I was drawn to the promise of “unrivalled service” and measurable quality standards that JVW expound via their web presence. They promise a five working day turnaround for repair estimates.

I didn’t want to trust my precious watch to the postal system, so I decided to make the 70-mile trip to JVW in person. I went on Monday 1st December, and was greeted by a member of the JVW team who promised that my watch would be surveyed on Friday 4th December, and an estimate provided then. There was no question of any ambiguity around this service standard; I was told with certainty that this was my timeline. I paid in advance, and left my contact phone number and email address for follow up.

After the deadline came and went without any contact, I resisted the urge to call JVW and ask for my estimate – I was working on the assumption that perhaps they were going the extra mile to get me the unrivalled service and best value that they promise on their website. I left it another week, and then another few days on top of that, and then I eventually caved, and sent an email. I received a short response which said, “Apologies we are a bit behind with the estimates.”

I wasn’t particularly happy with the very cavalier attitude to the missed deadline, and I was particularly disappointed that it took an enquiry from the customer to generate any kind of communication about the delay. However, I figured that my watch might now be treated as an urgent case and that I would hear from them again soon. Sadly, I was wrong.

So, despite having a very clear published service standard, JVW did not provide my estimate within five days; they didn’t even manage to get me an estimate within five weeks.

I decided not to wait any longer for my watch to be surveyed, and I made the long journey to rescue it from the shop today. Having relayed my story to the JVW staff member, I was given a somewhat phlegmatic “sorry about that” in response. I had to ask for my money to be refunded, as it wasn’t pro-actively offered to me, despite no service ever having been provided. And, to add insult to injury, the gentleman at JVW dropped my watch on the floor with a clatter. When he saw my alarmed expression, he rolled his eyes and said, “It landed on the wooden floor - it will be fine.” He didn’t inspect my watch with a loupe for any damage, rather just gave it a cursory glance and handed it back to me.

I’m incredibly disappointed with JVW’s service. Their failure to meet their own published service standard makes me highly doubtful of the probity of their other published claims, and I’m sure that Trading Standards will take an interest in what amounts to false advertising on their website. But the biggest disappointment of all has been the complete absence of any attempt at providing basic customer service or lines of communication. I could have forgiven the missed deadline; external factors which impact on service can and do happen in life, and the measure of a company is how they respond to these factors. A company which really values customer service would have immediately communicated any potential service delay to their customer; they would have apologised profusely and offered the customer a revised deadline or an option to cancel. JVW’s absence of any contact of any kind tells me that they don’t value me as a customer; that they don’t care about the impact of their service shortfall on my life, and that their website promises and proclamations are merely hyperbole.

Margaret, on behalf of the entire team at Jon Vincent Watchmakers I want to extend our sincere apology for the extremely poor experience you had with us. It is most certainly not good enough and as hard as it may be for you to believe it is not an accurate reflection of how we usually conduct our business. I can only image how frustrating and disappointing you found our service having travelled so far to entrust us with your watch. We can only hold our hands up and apologise for getting it completely wrong in this instance. We had the unfortunate luck of being down to only one watchmaker from three for our busiest month of December and foolishly thought we could still achieve our quick turnaround times until our new watchmakers joined us in January. This was an error of judgement on our part and one we will look to learn from as keeping our customers informed is one of our most important goals as a business. To compound the misery our staff member accidentally dropped your watch when returning it to you and was that embarrassed and flustered by the incident he forgot to refund you and offer an explanation. We really have failed at every hurdle in this case and hope you can accept our apology and agree to give us an opportunity to make it right. I will phone you tomorrow morning to see how we can rectify this unfortunate situation. Thank you for taking the time to leave us your honest feedback, it will definitely help us to develop as a company and ensure incidents like this don't happen again.

This includes clear and concise updated communication throughout and an excellent level of workmanship standard.

Omega seasmaster chrono 300

Just collected my new Omega Seamaster Diver 300 Chrono from Jon Vincent.
My over all experience has been nothing but excellent. My watch had to be specifically ordered from omega as they did not have it in stock. The watch arrived while I was on holiday within a couple of weeks and I collected it on my return. I made savings comparable to duty free prices whilst still maintaining a relationship with a local store that is obviously going to supply a great aftersales service..

Just disappointed that I couldn't give 10 stars in this review !
One word Excellent !

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE, WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I recently purchased a Tag Heuer watch from Jon Vincent Watchmakers. The boutique itself is stunning, and both Paul and Greg at JV were friendly, helpful and welcoming. They were able to source the exact watch I was looking for, and they were able to accommodate my tight timescale. The whole experience was enjoyable as it was both relaxed and professional. I would definitely visit again, and would recommend to anyone.

Great Service

I recently came across JV watchmakers when I wanted to get a new steel bracelet fitted to a new Omega Aqua Terra I had bought elsewhere. They swapped the bracelet at no charge. Subsequently, my wife was looking for a new Rolex Midsize datejust and they were able to source the model she was looking for at a great price.
Would not hesitate in recommending.

First Class Professional Service

I recently purchased a new watch from John Vincent. From the moment I placed the order, to the moment I received the watch, I was kept informed of exactly what was happening. This was then followed up with a phone call to enquire how things were going and if there was anything I required. I would not hesitate in recommending John Vincent to anyone who was enquiring about a watch.

Quality Craftsmen

I had a 44 year old watch left to me in a will. It was not working when I received it. I found Jon Vincent's details online and luckily they are local to me although I never knew about them beforehand. I now have a perfectly working watch which I can wear, complete with old memories. (realise this sounds slushy but it's true).

Exceptional Service

Do not hesitate to buy from Jon Vincent either directly or through E Bay. Their service is genuinely exceptional and though I am sure they sell watches much more expensive than the one I bought, the care and attention that has been provided to me throughout my purchase and afterwards has been stunning. Also, as they are newly listed on Ebay, do not worry about the lack of feedback. This is a very genuine company and you will be in very safe hands with them. I have not been paid or offered a discount to write this review. As a business owner myself I am dismayed on daily basis about the poor service that has become the norm in the UK.....these guys however got it spot on.
