I first tried to buy some boots from their website, and when I added it to my basket the price suddenly jumped by £50. They do however have vastly different prices between their eBay site and website, so please beware of this as you may end up paying more for the same product. As the product was still around the original price on eBay, I opted to buy it here.

However, I was sent a tracking number and then was randomly refunded for the order with no communication as to why. The product was still in stock, however again had now jumped to a price even higher than their website. I contacted them and they said the product had been damaged in transit and Royal Mail had communicated this and was returning the item to them so they refunded me (I have never heard of Royal Mail contacting the sender for this, it is usually picked up by the receiver so I'm really not sure about this). At the same time, the product had jumped up in price on eBay by over £75 and is now £29 more expensive than the website.

I was not at any point contacted or offered to be sent the original item, which is still in stock - just significantly more expensive if I did wish to purchase it!

Although Legend Footwear customer service is good in that they are quick to reply to queries, I am really not impressed with the service.

It is extremely suspicious and I would really beware of this company. It should not be this difficult to purchase a product from anyone. Purchases should also be honoured when an item is in stock.

These patterns strongly resemble drop-selling or repricing behavior — where a retailer lists items they don’t physically hold, and when they can’t source them cheaply enough, they cancel or reprice.

I did reach out directly, and exactly asked for the original price to be honoured with a repurchase, which the company must be aware of given that they have referenced my exact case in their reply.

Royal Mail delivered the item to an address outwith the company. It was signed for. I have proof and screenshots through the tracking number that was sent to me. If the parcel was delivered and signed for, then no, it was not lost in transit.

Previous (and conflicting) reasons offered were that it was damaged and returned. Again, delivered and signed for elsewhere.

It feels as though the company is avoiding responsibility, and attempting to cover their tracks, as they are likely engaging in drop-shipping practices as discussed above. 1 star Ebay reviews have noted a similar pattern.

I've now bought several pairs of footwear from Legend. Always good quality trainers/boots at excellent prices (often much reduced). Delivery is fast too.
One pair of boots came up too small and Legend quickly organised a return from me.
Legend are reliable, professional and efficient. They definitely live up to their name!
