I would never recommend this company.
The sales process was misleading because they did not disclose all of the costs during the consultation. When I questioned the additional fees, I was repeatedly told that everything had been explained on the call. However, when I requested a copy of the call recording as proof, they were unable to provide it and simply gave us the runaround.
We paid over £1,000 to have our wills prepared, only to discover later that we had not been advised about an additional £398 in registration fees. Had these costs been made clear from the outset, we could have made a fully informed decision.
To make matters worse, there were numerous errors in our wills. Our instructions were not accurately reflected, resulting in mistakes that had to be corrected. This raised serious concerns about the quality and care taken in preparing such important legal documents.
The lack of transparency, poor communication, and inability to provide the call recording to support their claims is, in my opinion, completely unacceptable. We followed all the procedures they requested to obtain the recording, yet it was never provided.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service we received. The experience felt unprofessional, misleading, and poor value for money. I would never use this company again and would strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere.

Whilst I got the end result of a new will the experience wasn’t great , a very sales motivated experience with the lady taking the details v brisk and only trying to sell more services and the end draft had many mistakes that needed rectifying

​I am writing this review to warn other families about the practices of "Secure Legacy" (which is an unregulated trading name for the Gibraltar-registered company, One Life Funerals Limited). They are NOT solicitors, they have no SRA oversight, and they are not members of the Society of Will Writers or the Institute of Professional Willwriters. They are admins drawing up basic word documents that anyone can do. Our family’s experience with them has been an absolute nightmare of consumer exploitation.
​They Targeting Extreme Vulnerability
​My 88-year-old mother is currently suffering from a devastating double bereavement, having lost both her husband and her daughter within a two-week window in January. A registered medical professional has confirmed she lacks mental capacity to understand, retain, or recall complex legal and financial decisions. Under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, she is legally incapable of entering into any binding contract.
​A Total Disregard for obvious Cognitive Impairment to make decisions.
​Secure Legacy claims they "checked she understood." by asking if she understands. This is a farce. In written email evidence, my mother tried to request a major legal change to the draft LPA document. Because of her cognitive overload and IT illiteracy, she typed her entire complex instruction inside the Subject Line of the email, leaving the body blank. Instead of flagging this obvious sign of a struggling, vulnerable client, their admin team blindly processed the change without question.
​3. Bypassing a Family Advocate to Isolate a Vulnerable Adult
​When I stepped in as her advocate—providing them with written authorisation from my mother and confirming my status as a registered medical professional—Secure Legacy's admin team actively tried to bypass me. They emailed my mother directly, attempting to schedule a private phone call to get her alone on the line, after being informed she gets overwhelmed and agrees to things out of confusion.
​4. High-Pressure Tactics & Disabled Accessibility
​They pressured my mother with arbitrary "7-day" deadlines to approve their work in the draft emails, threatening her with a £47 surcharge if she didn't catch mistakes. To make matters worse, the drafts they emailed were heavily password-locked, with "content copying" and "accessibility options" deliberately disabled. This actively blocked her from using screen readers or magnification tools to read what she was being pressured to sign.
​5. Legal Bluffing to Refuse a Refund
​They have taken hundreds of pounds from my mother and have only delivered watermarked, unexecutable "DRAFT" PDFs. Yet, they are flatly refusing a refund, claiming their "14-day cooling-off period has elapsed." (It legally doesn't exist in this instance)
​They never sent my mother a pe-contract, signed contract or written terms of business, meaning under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the 'cooling-off period' hasn't even legally started. (As she lacks capacity-any agreement made is null and void).

​They are refusing to comply with or acknowledge a statutory Subject Access Request (SAR) for the phone recordings, which is a direct breach of UK GDPR.
They have not confirmed all personnel information be destroyed when asked in writing.

​They sent us a cold email stating "this matter is now closed from our side" and refused further correspondence unless it was to get my mother to sign the paperwork.(Still pushing for this knowing she lacks capacity).

​We have escalated this matter to her bank's fraud department, Trading Standards, and are preparing a formal report for the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Do not let this company near your elderly or grieving loved ones. They operate completely in the wild with zero professional regulation. The only people dealing with this are all 'admins' and this was evident in communication with them. No laws are being followed or that they even know how illegal their process has been.
All evidence of the experience can be supplied to support the accurate and honest account of our experience. Very easy for people to think they are great and a fast service until you need to hold them to legal account.
I am in disbelief that a firm can provide so much evidence of their legal failings and still feel confident that there won't be any legal consequences. We will get mom's money back and I will share how this practice takes advantage of some of the most vulnerable adults in society.

Completed my will only to find the draft copy had them as an executor wasn’t asked whilst on the telephone call and I did not specify this which was disappointing and I lost abit of trust that my will would be valid, names were incorrectly spelt which could have been checked throughout the call as my initial conversation was very positive I explained what I wanted and needed but don’t feel they followed this up at the crucial point of making the will.
However once I emailed this was rectified quickly and other adjustments made swiftly
