Completed my will only to find the draft copy had them as an executor wasn’t asked whilst on the telephone call and I did not specify this which was disappointing and I lost abit of trust that my will would be valid, names were incorrectly spelt which could have been checked throughout the call as my initial conversation was very positive I explained what I wanted and needed but don’t feel they followed this up at the crucial point of making the will.
However once I emailed this was rectified quickly and other adjustments made swiftly
Guess that’s why people use a solicitor

I have given it 3 stars because, although the Will itself for £47 is OK, they then tried to get me to pay for a Power of Attorney for £399, which they then reduced to £249.

All of our will writers have a legal and ethical duty of care to highlight any potential vulnerabilities or risks in a client’s estate planning. That means we are required to explain additional protections, even if a client has come in only wanting the basics.
The intention is never to pressure, but to ensure that clients are making fully informed decisions, rather than discovering later that something important was never mentioned.
Ultimately, all decisions always remain with you.

Poor customer service and poor quality
The telephone meeting was rushed and only focused on product recommendations rather than focusing on our needs and the details of such. The first draft needs to be rewritten due to several inaccuracies which confirmed my experience on the day that we were not listened to. I suppose you receive what you pay for. I would have rather paid a professional and got it right.

Preasure selling LPA
Paid for the will up front before the appointment.
During the phone appointment details of the will done.
Then preasure selling add on LPA refused to accept no as an answer.
I requested to have some time to research still would not take no as an answer.

Please do your diligence and poor quality.
I came across Secure Legacy (SL) through a social media advertisement and decided to use SL for our wills.
The the initial online enquiry was followed by a phone call on the next business day and the cost of the two basic wills was paid on that day with the appointment with the will writer scheduled a few days later. Any details about what services are available and cost is not provided and simply advised the will writer will provide the options and cost - This should have been the alarm bell for me as once the basic provision will is paid, any add on are just that and it is not possible to make a fair and comparable assessment of the services and cost. I would even say it is an unfair and anti transparent practice and likely because how unregulated this part of the industry is.
We completed the appointment with the will writer and we turned down the offer of Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) and Property Protection Trust (PPT) as we were simply not prepared to consider any add-on on the spot without making our own assessment, and shopping around. I noted the will writer was particularly interested in getting us to take the LPA which we had to turn down four times and was only dropped after advising we can get this through work for a fraction of the price.
The draft Wills followed a few days later and frankly the volume of basic mistakes ranging from misspelling names we spelt out using Phonetic Alphabet were wrong, pronouns incorrect, incorrect address, missing out key parts of the asset distribution and mixing up my wife and my will, adding wishes we were clear about such as paid funeral plan. It was poor.
It is disturbing how a 'professional will writer' can get so many basic things wrong. I cannot imagine the stress and energy on a vulnerable person to achieve a correct Will, or worse, they do not pick up on these errors if they do not understand the flow.
This industry is not that well regulated and I have provided all corrections required and hope they can deliver.
I will be looking into Secure Legacy in the coming to better understand what membership they hold and any regulated bodies.
Lets see how this progress and will update this.

On the whole it was very good
On the whole it was very good. I had a feeling that AI had a hand in it as some of the corrections did not make sense. The alternative of paying several hundred pounds for two changes to my original will made it very well worth doing through you!

The person I spoke to initially to set up was quite rude and I was very upset about her behaviour. If I hadn't have already paid a deposit I would have tried another company to set up my Will. The rest of the experience was ok.
