The bikini top piece is not plus size friendly it was actually much too small compared with the description. The turban is slippery and too tight. The leggings skirt was an okay fit. For the price tag such an experience is not okay. Material feels uncomfortable.

I would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing from Lyra, especially international customers.

The sizing is extremely inconsistent and often makes little sense. I own Lyra garments ranging from XS/S to M that fit me quite well, including a swimsuit, tracksuit, kaftan, hijabs, and another dress. Yet the most recent dress I purchased in size M was completely disproportionate: tight at the waist, excessively large in the shoulders and upper back, and so poorly cut that it created a visible bulge at the back, giving the appearance of a hump. On top of that, the dress was extraordinarily long, as if designed for someone significantly taller.

What frustrated me most was being told that the fit issues were due to my body shape and proportions. If that is indeed the case, then how is a customer supposed to know that in advance? I followed the size guide and ordered a size that, based on my previous purchases from the brand, should have fit. If garments within the same brand vary so dramatically in fit and proportion, customers are effectively left guessing.

The quality is acceptable but nothing exceptional. The main appeal of the brand is for me its style rather than outstanding craftsmanship.

What ultimately put me off the brand was the customer service. Despite providing photographs and measurements, Lyra maintained that the fit issues were attributable to my body shape. At the same time, the company only offered store credit and required me to pay international return shipping costs myself. Returning a simple dress to the UK would cost me more than €20.

Given the inconsistency of the sizing and fit across their products, not offering free exchanges or affordable return options places all of the risk on the customer. Many retailers have arrangements with courier companies that allow customers to return or exchange items at a reasonable cost. That’s industry standard. Lyra appears unwilling to invest in that level of customer satisfaction.

After this experience, I will not be purchasing from Lyra again, I would not recommend the brand to others, and I would advise international customers in particular to think carefully before ordering.

I wouldn't even give them 1 start in such circumstances. The whole website is on sale, their main returns policy doesn't include the info that even if items don't fit you and are unsuitable, they won't accept returns, exchanges for sizes or a store credit card. That's a lot of money spent for me on the items that cannot be worn due to sizing not fitting. I have never heard of such a policy where no help could be given, and it's not stated on the main returns page. How dissapointed in a company that I have been buying from many times before, reporting you every where I can now and never buying again. I hope other women don't fall for your tricks. Disgusting.

First time customer. I am still waiting in my order to be shipped. It’s for a trip and now I won’t have it in time. And of course I haven’t even gotten to try it on yet, so can’t comment on fit or quality. No swimming for me…

I found the sizes wrong: it's so disappointing to pay that much money, to wait for international shipping, and to get the size to be wrong and smaller than advertised. I cannot speak to the quality: sizes too small.

I was a bit disappointed with this dress. The material was much thinner and more see-through than expected, and the separate slip included did not feel very high quality. Unfortunately, the $50 return fee also made the purchase feel not worth it overall.

Absolutely obsessed with Lyra Modest 🤍 I ordered two swimsuits and even though they didn’t fit me perfectly, their customer service was AMAZING. They were so kind, attentive, and made the return process incredibly easy and stress free. Now I can confidently order my correct size 🥹✨

And the swimsuits themselves are BEAUTIFUL the quality is honestly incredible. The fabric feels so luxurious, flattering, and well made. You can really tell they care about both their products and their customers. 10/10 experience and I’ll definitely be ordering from them again 💕

I bought the Jersey Bamboo Multi-Way Hijab based off a recommendation on TikTok from a woman who said she wears it for running. I have tried different hijabs for running but they never stay on properly. This one was amazing! Did not move an inch on my 5km run! So comfortable as well. Absolutely love it and will be purchasing more! Thank you so much!

I love everything about Lyra. From swimwear to day wear to active wear and their hijab collections are just so fab. The fabrics are to die for. So buttery and airy esp on hot days everyday here in Southeast Asia. Not to mention their delivery is tip top. Chef kiss!

I bought the swim top and leggings for a holiday in Kerala where I wanted to swim without offending local customs. Also for sun coverage.

Both the top and leggings were fantastic - perfect to wear to stroll to the beach in, swim, then after minimal drying time to a cafe on beach side for coffee/brunch. They were also perfect for kayaking trips because I didn’t have to worry about being wet and uncomfortable, and if I felt like a swim or just having my legs in the water I could easily do that.

Most of the time, modesty wasn’t an issue as people were wearing all kinds of outfits, but I did go to one beach which wasn’t usual for swimming, and I was really grateful for the extra coverage. It’s also SO much easier to slip into these than keep covering with sunscreen, which can also damage marine life. I am a total convert, thanks Lyra.

I am 5 foot 4 / 164cm tall and weigh about 68kg, and I bought the large leggings and medium swim top. The waist band of the leggings could be slightly higher, but as the top was long, it was totally fine even when bending in and out of kayak.

I initially bought the swim top in large but I sent it back for an M with no issues. It did fit, but had a slightly looser look and I preferred tighter, to reduce drag when swimming. If your goal is modesty you may prefer to size up. However I think I probably also could have fit the S to reduce drag when swimming even more. Overall I’m happy with M and had no issues swapping sizes.

The customer service was excellent, I put in the incorrect address and immediately realised and emailed them. They corrected it immediately and confirmed they did. Usually other places take forever to do that. When I got my package they had added a few bonus items which was so lovely of them. The swimsuits were absolutely stunning, they fit so well, the fabric is fantastic and the designs are just gorgeous. So happy!!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe it’s equally important to acknowledge when a matter is resolved fairly.

I purchased the Sofia Classic Nude swimsuit (£110) and later returned it using LYRA’s approved Royal Mail QR return process. Initially, there was a long delay and confusion regarding the condition of the returned items, and for several months the situation remained unresolved, which was understandably frustrating.

However, after further communication and clarification, LYRA reviewed the circumstances and have now issued a full refund as a gesture of goodwill.

I truly appreciate that the team took the time to listen and ultimately bring this matter to a fair conclusion. While the process took longer than expected, I’m grateful for the respectful and understanding way the situation was handled in the end.

Bad quality, Poor customer service, luxury price!
I had seen the ads for Lyra modest everywhere especially their swim wear. I was going on holiday and had my eye on a set, hijab and abaya cover up, nearly £200 pounds worth of items. Being a student I had to save up money to buy it and was really looking forward to using it as I love going swimming but could not find anything which covered me properly. Everything was fine until after the 3rd time wearing the costume I realised the item had small almost like tears, bobbles in the fabric. I was really upset as this cost me a lot and I was really looking forward to using this swim wear for a long time. I followed the washing instructions and this still happened! When coming back I emailed Lyra modest only to be met with slow replies and in the was told they would only give me 20% gift card (WHICH WAS NEVER GIVEN) as generosity. This is really unacceptable and does not fall in line with the UK consumers rights acts. They have since ignored my emails and refused to come to a better outcome.

LYRA are truly incredible Masha'Allah. From the quality of their products to their customer service and engagement with the community, LYRA are making it easier for women to embrace modesty again, and that is empowering. Yes, the prices can be higher than those of your average company, but LYRA are changing the game by creating fashionable pieces that last and don't deteriorate after just one use, unlike most retailers nowadays. Products like the Active Bottoms and the Bamboo Jersey Hijabs have supported me in my journey to become a hijabi and have shown me that being modest doesn't mean accepting discomfort, and I am genuinely grateful for that Alhamdulillah.
