Never worked right, MJ recommended buying a newer model and we did and then the new model began malfunctioning then didn’t work at all.
Beware
Beware ; I purchase a MJ device and did not received it. MJ told me that is was my problem (after calling for hours, several times).
Contacted usps and can’t make a claim because it did not have insurance.
MJ final statement after they hang many times was that need to purchase a new one!!!

As usual my experience with customer service or the lack thereof forced me to lose service with Magic Jack one year ago. When I went to renew the year last November Magic Jack said I had given them an incorrect card #. I did not know that they kept a card number on file. Had used Magic Jack for 10 years with no problem. Could not contact Magic Jack by phone, chat or online. Subsequently I have not used the service since Nov. 2020. Today I received an email saying it was time for renewal. Don't they even know I am not using Magic Jack? I would still use it if there wasn't an issue with credit card which I am sure was different from my sign up payment. We don't all keep the same card forever-bank changes, lost card.

I think they prey on they elderly. They never activated my service after I paid and refuse to refund me even after my credit card disputed it. After I finally got through to someone they said would help me she hung up on me

I don't know what people are complaining about. This is not the phone company and besides, who has a landline these days? I have MJ since they first came out, I have upgraded the units from time to time. I have never had a problem. I has operated as advertised. I can count on one hand, since 2010, how many dropped calls I've had. I have called all over with no issues. I have even called family in Europe ($0.02/minute) with good voice quality and taken the device to Germany and made calls to the states for no extra charges. As an added bonus, I have sent faxes, which is mainly what I used it for now.

Terrible customer service.
Renewed. Got charged twice. Same amount. 2 different days. Tried to get through to MagicJack customer service. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Wasted some money, wasted a LOT of time.
Minus a Star for Service…
If I could give support minus a star I would. We only use the MagiicApp and it keeps logging itself out. Callers hear, "this number is not in service." We continually log back in. We pay for concierge service which gives you absolutely nothing. This week I literally called three times to have the call center drop my call three times. Once they called back and spoke so quickly I couldn't catch the number they said to call. I tried the text help. That person stayed with me but could not resolve the issue. The line still keeps logging off. We loved them the first few years we had the service but notice that over the years the service and connectivity has gotten worse and worse.
Abysmal. Non descript off shore customer service.
Magic Jack is one of those companies that makes it near impossible to speak to a human being. Their CSR's and Tech Support personal are inadequately trained. They hang up on you just as often as they speak to you and 40 minutes into a call will ask you what it is your calling about. Requests to speak to a supervisor are simply unreturned. Don't spend money here, the service is lacklustre and unusable and NO ONE seems to give a damn. For every one problem they fix they create two more and want you to pay AGAIN to get that problem resolved. Stay clear. Save your sanity. I had been a customer for +/- ten years, but no more. I don't care about the cost to get the hell away from their ignorance and incompetence.

I live in Ohio and he on the west cost , every time I talk to him phone call drops , now it’s worse , can’t have a conversation at all , he’s in denial and thinks is my equipment when his magic jack always drops calls and now it is so bad I don’t even calling no more I just use email he needs to wake up and change that service and stop being so cheap because you get what you pay for magic jack is cheap and magicJack is worthless I am so glad I never purchased it and never well I hope you don’t because it doesn’t work and I’m not even a customer magic jack I just talk to somebody who used it and it sucks sucks and sucks.

The scamming started after my 5 year…
The scamming started after my 5 year contract/term was up. I went to renew online at my magic jack account and was billed twice on my 1 year renewal. They refused to give me the over payment back. This was them using my credit card (unauthorized by me) the following month. That's fraud. I disputed overpayment with Visa and got my money back. Next year's renewal, SCAMMED again. They refused to explain these unauthorized monies on my credit card. They made me go through every department/emails. Took 2 months of them trying to get away with frauding me. They were hoping I would give up and let them keep my money that wasn't owed to magic jack. I disputed with Visa and got my money back. I have the email (with spelling errors "red flag")scam for more money this renewal as they won't let me do it on my magic jack account. They make me pay by email (no receipts. ..just Taking different amounts of money off my visa). I only find out when I get my statement. I have since found out who the company is (outsourcing in the Philippines). I made my complaint today and told them I have evidence (my Visa statements and all the emails from them and myself). If anyone wants help getting their money back, you can message me on Facebook (not allowed to post my email here). My name is Cynthia Edie on facebook, and I will give you the company's name (BPO) that magic jack employs who in turn gets their own employees in call centers who are supposed to be ethical and forbidden from scamming customers ( according to their employee/employer policies). Product=good; Service=poor !!
The product is good, but customer service is poor. I got a brand new MagicJack Go sent to me did not work due to a defective AC adapter. The company insists that I pay to replace the defective product, even though it was new...
Worst customer service, wastes my time!
Magicjack customer service is the worst! I have been asking for them to send me a proper receipt every year and every year they don't send me one. Do I really have to call billing and wait forever until I talk to a representative? They promise to send me a replacement receipt by email but I never get one. It takes several times of calling to finally have a solution. Please stop lying to me and wasting my time. I've been a customer for almost 10 years and I don't feel very valued at all.

Magic joke is a company you can't trust…
Magic joke is a company you can't trust at all. I applied for a 1 year subscription and never got to use it. Webchat is hopeless and won't assist. Service worked for 1st month only. They won't refund me the remaining 11 months. Tech support never gets back to you as promised. They created around 30 different trouble tickets for me and never resolved a single one of them. Can I give them negative stars? I forgot to mention that I can't access my online account but I have the option to pay a renew the service.

I should have read the reviews purchasing since it is obvious that this company has a poor track record. The positive reviews are from Magic Jack employees (Customer Service gave themselves 5 Stars on this website in a poorly written, rambling review).
Magic Jack double billed me. I tried to contact them but you are on hold for 45 minutes. Then you get someone with poor English skills that says they cannot help you. Finally, I asked my credit card company to stop one of the payments. They could not apparently because Magic Jack refused so I just gave up. Now a year later, I tried to renew, but there is a Hold on my account because I put in to stop a payment (even though the charge never got reversed). Worst customer service. I used the product as a landline, mostly for Faxing, and it worked most of the time satisfactorily, but not every time.
MagicJack is an absolute joke
MagicJack is an absolute joke. This company is run by a bunch of scabs. They barely provide a "service". The product doesn't work more than the warranty holds. They do not stand by their product, their tech support is absolutely useless and the billing department hangs up on you when you want to find a solution. This company is a disgrace. It's clear they just want your money and don't give a crap about you after that. A cheap service is never a good service. Run fast and far from these clowns unless you like to flush your money.
Has to be the worst service I have encompassed in years
If you want plenty of hassle and aggravation this company is for you. Have waited hours for customer chat and for call backs by people that have no idea of the product.Have been disconnected while being switched to different departments and while on hold. Will not stand behind the product. Charges to replace defective unit. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and just renewed-dumb on my part. I'm trying to get a refund, but I'm not holding my breath. Usually poor call quality.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. Had to fight with an agent in chat for 3 hours to get to a manager. I renewed my subscription for one year and service hasn't worked for 8 months. They won't refund me. And they stopped me from being able to access my online account and still won't fix it. Waiting for BOB to respond now.
