Beware of Makro online deliveries and overall service

Beware of Makro online deliveries - what a joke and their customer care centre is even a bigger joke - Purchased a produt as per the ad online 50 x 125g of Holsum @ R899.00. Lo and behold - the delivery arrives with only 10 x 125g bricks. Log a mail to customer care, to say please refund me the difference as this is blatant theft - R719.00 odd rand. I then get a response - complete the "return" block and they will collect what was sent - go back and say, NO - I don't want to return it, just pay me back my money for the 40 bricks I did not receive. I have just received a call from Value Logistics to say they have been instructed to come and collect my delivery! I have never in my life encountered such inefficency in any company. I trust that someone will wake up and action my irritation/complaint.

Brilliant Service

Hi
On Saturday the 30 May 2026 I was assisted by Mr.Vusimusi Mxotwa who works in the TV Department at Makro Germiston.
What a wonderful experience to be assisted by him. Nothing was too much for him to do. His knowledge and experience was immense and very valuable.
He is truly an asset to his company and once again thank you Mr.Vusimusi Mxotwa for assisting myself in such a professional manner.

Disgraceful customer service

If I could give a zero-star rating, I would. I requested that a delivery be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. The entire order was cancelled instead. NO communication was sent before the cancellation was processed. Disgraceful customer service.

I placed an order for Cape Gate and opted for PICK UP to collect myself so that I could avoid the risk of delays on my desperately needed items only to find out the whole of CAPE TOWN had no stock of the items ADVERTISED and were directed to Johannesburg!!! Ummm I live in Cape Town, by now the math is not mathing. I email! No response!!! I call get thrown from one incompetent tele sales agent to another and they all got different stories and excuses and I’m like the logic here just cancel and refund my dam money!!!! No!!!!! It’s not that simple I must now wait for their terms. A week later I have to call again because I still haven’t received my money, I CALL NOT THEM TO FOLLOW UP!!!! They tell me oh no the money kept bouncing because my account is not authorised!!! Ummmm sorry what you took my money, the inconvenience, the calls, the driving up and down, the time spent in your branch and you tell me now I must fill a whole bunch of documents out to prove that I paid for the goods and give proof of this and that!!!!! What the actual!!!! Come right MAKRO!!!! STAY FAR AWAY

I will never order from Makro Online Again

I will never order from Makro Online again. This is the 4th time that I have ordered something on Makro Online just to get an email days later stating that they are processing my refund. If you go om your Makro Online Profile to view your order it states that the order was cancelled & a refund is in process. No explanation, no notification that the item that was ordered is out of stock, therefore cancelled, nothing. The previous time this happened I phoned Makro Customer Services and the lady told me that she can't help me to find out why my order was cancelled because I have ordered directly from the supplier, not directly from Makro, which is absurd. It seems that they have no record of anything ordered through Makro Online because if there were records, she would have been able to tell me why my order was cancelled. There is just no correspondence from Makro in any way. You look forward to receive your order just to be notified that you will be receiving a refund with no explanation whatsoever. I needed the item I ordered & now I will have to go from one shop to the next hoping I will find something similar to what I have ordered through Makro Online.

I purchased goods online from Makro on…

I purchased goods online from Makro on [17 April ] under order number [2U9R5]. The goods were never delivered. I have attempted numerous times through customer care to cancel the order and obtain a refund without success.

I hereby formally cancel the order due to non-delivery and demand a full refund within 7 days in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.

Failing payment, I will escalate the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud and the National Consumer Commission.

They Never Do Refunds

Placed 2 different orders and both times they sent me the wrong items. They approved the returns but never ever do the refunds. Makro is genuinly a massive disaster. It's impossible to deal with one person instead its multiple people. Makro just lost a business byuing from them.

DO NOT use Makro Online. It's run by incompetent fools, for fools - I know because I was that fool. One of my items was missing on delivery, their support told me to log a return under missing item and guess what? They sent a courier to collect the item I never received. This whole process happened twice and on the third and fourth time they reassured me again and again that "the matter has been escalated to the relevant department" - What department? Waste disposal? Because It's been over a month now and still it's not resolved. Curse this place, it's a complete scam that should not be legally allowed to operate.

Serious concern regarding an online purchase

Serious concern regarding an online order through Makro.

I ordered a Dyson Airwrap through Makro Online for my daughter’s birthday and noted that the supplier was K Logistics. Unfortunately, when the product arrived, the outer box was not sealed, the inner packaging had clearly been opened and very poorly resealed, and there were dirt marks and scratches on both the box and parts of the product. It honestly looked like an opened, handled, or possibly display unit rather than a brand-new premium product.

This is extremely disappointing, especially considering this was purchased as a birthday gift. I now have the inconvenience of logging a return and waiting for a refund.

@Makro — if third-party suppliers are selling through your platform, there needs to be far better quality control. At the very least, customers should be clearly informed if a product is open-box, display stock, refurbished, or sold at a discount due to damaged packaging. Selling premium products in this condition is simply not acceptable.

Schocking Online Service and Support

You CAN NOT get to speak to anyone in authroity. Customers are treated like dirt from Makro/Mass Mart. The scary thing is that I though I learnt my leasson been trated this bad and again after a 3rd online purchase nothing has changed. The bad revies on review platforms and socil media is a pure warning to nevr buy online form these stores.

I visited Makro Bfn last weekend (1st May) and bought Roll on that was on special (see photo). After the cashier rang the roll on, I saw that the prices were different. I made inquiries regarding the price differences after which the floor supervisor mentioned that the specific roll-on is not all on special, but on the shelf the prices were in two different places which showed that both were on special. please see photos. I was then forced to take the same roll on after which they also added it to the slip, but I did not receive it and then had to inquire again and then had to take the same one that I already had. I spent 30 min plus just to sort out the problem. There was also another person who had the same experience and he was not happy either. This was not the first time this had happened. The items on the shelf show special offers, but when you get to the till then the prices are not right, always have to take +- 30 minutes to solve the problem.

AVOID MAKRO ONLINE SHOPPING ‼️– Zero accountability for missing items

​I placed an order on April 17th for several electronics. While some items arrived, one item was never delivered. For three weeks, my order was stuck on "Ready to Ship." Every time I called customer service, I was given the same excuse about "courier issues."
​It is not the customer's job to manage a store's relationship with their courier. I had to send multiple emails and eventually threaten to involve the CGSO and my bank for a chargeback before they finally processed a refund. Their communication is poor and they will leave you in the dark unless you fight for your money. Order online at your own RISK.

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the after-sales service I’ve received after purchasing an LG InstaView fridge along with an extended warranty.
After the linear inverter was replaced, the fridge developed a very bad smell, which is both unpleasant and concerning, especially for an appliance meant to store food. I have been going back and forth trying to get this issue resolved, but there has been no proper assistance.
I reported the problem in-store on Saturday, expecting prompt support given that I paid for an extended warranty. Unfortunately, to date, nothing has been done. The lack of communication and urgency from the service team is unacceptable.
I expected a reliable product and efficient customer service from makro silverlakes, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I would appreciate immediate attention to resolve this issue as it is now becoming a health concern.
I hope this matter will finally be taken seriously and addressed without further delays.

Very bad service. After 3 weeks and many telephone calls nobody comes back to you. Grace at Makro Bloemfontein is the worst. And I suspect rasism as well but I will do my homework to confirm my suspicion
