Opportunity for improvement.

Recipes are good. But often the quality of ingredients (mostly the produce arrives wilted or too far gone) and the missing items are getting too frequent. Something off at least every other box.

Decent experience

I like some of the recipes. This is a lot more work than other food delivery services, but it's making me use my kitchen in a better way. I'm learning different techniques. Some of the recipes are a bit bland, but on the whole, there have been mostly tasty meals. Criticisms would be that there a few too many potatoes on the side (there could be more vegetables in the dishes) and I have had some quality issues with ingredients not being included in the box.

Mostly good.There is however one…

Mostly good.There is however one ingredient that you absolutely shouldn’t use. That is the precooked Jasmine rice. It is so horrible that it is inedible. You have sent it twice and both times it was a strange glutinous and gummy goo. It was heated per the instructions. I had to throw it in the garbage twice. I buy rice at the grocery that you microwave and it is perfectly fine. There is no excuse for this!

Great meals. Great value.

I decided to try Marley spoon because our home life and cooking routines have changed with children getting older. The quality of food was very good. The meals were very simple and easier to prepare. And the value was very good as well. I signed up for serving the four twice a week. It worked out perfect. It’s cheaper than DoorDash and the food is fresh. The family is excited to try a different recipes in the coming weeks.

Charging more for Dinnerly meals

I’m giving Marley spoon three stars because the food options have been great thus far, but instead of updating Dinnerly recipes and adding to your options( which you should do), you created another delivery box so you can charge more per meal. All ingredients appear to be the same as what’s offered in the Dinnerly box with the exception of some upgrades.

Good selection, average price, ruined stuff

Most of the recipes take longer to prepare than they say they do. Often they are missing ingredients or the ingredients are rotten or the recipe pages are missing. Delivery is a problem because no matter how carefully the box is packed, the delivery person always puts it on its side or upside down so products are everywhere they are not supposed to be and crushed. We have had to stop ordering some things just because by the time it gets to us it’s ruined.

The first couple of recipes were fresh…

The first couple of recipes were fresh and fun and seemed to slightly decline as the months passed. Maybe it was the season?

The recipes are getting harder to read. I am not a beginner at reading recipes, but they seem wordy and hard to follow. Sometimes I feel they just run some ingredients through an AI generator without anyone proof reading the recipe.

I understand shipping and packaging is a process, they are probably not the only meal kit service dealing with broken containers and produce that wilt before the next delivery.

I really hope they read this because this has been one of my favorite food delivery kits.

Love it but better packaging is needed to avoid damaged ingredients.

I prefer Marley Spoon over the other meal subscription services. The quality of the ingredients is superior and the variety of the meal options and customizations is fantastic.
My only criticisms are the packaging of everything loose in the box (as opposed to the ingredients grouped in paper bags, etc.). Every shipment has some degree of damage because items like canned goods will inevitably rupture fresh produce and packets of sour cream when packed loose in a box together.
In addition, there is too much of a reliance on meat substitutes like Impossible Burger for vegan options. Despite being vegan, they are not a healthy alternative due to all of the additives. More vegan options that don’t include artificial meat would be appreciated.

Improvement needed

Everything tastes good, but I sometimes need to customize the recipes to improve flavor. Your tomatoes and limes/lemons are small, hard, and lacking flavor. Also I didn't receive the "free gift" food.

Very few mistakes in the order

Very few mistakes in the order. Other services I used left out crucial ingredients. I spent a lot of time emailing back and forth. It was frustrating. The recipes are sometimes a little fussy, but I like that. There are plenty of easy recipes also.

Unsafe Delivery, Refund Issued, Poor Experience Overall

Updated review. My meal kit was delivered warm and spoiled, clearly unsafe to eat. I requested a refund rather than a credit, and to their credit, the refund was issued the same day. That said, the overall experience left a bad taste. After I expressed some hesitation about continuing the service, my account was canceled without any confirmation or conversation. I later received a message quoting something I supposedly wrote, used as justification for ending the relationship. I have no way to verify the accuracy of that quote, but the way it was handled felt abrupt, impersonal, and a little too convenient. I expected better communication and more care from a brand associated with Martha Stewart. I am grateful for the prompt refund, but the tone of the entire experience has made it easy not to return.

Loving this eating adventure

My husband and I are really enjoying the Marley Spoon eating experience. Each evening we look forward to a dinner that is a "restaurant grade meal!" It's so much fun to cook from their recipes and it really helps with "portion control" ~ but we are never left hungry! We are a month into it and have no plans to stop!
We love it.

Quality Ingredients

All of the ingredients in the Marley Spoon orders are of high quality. Tender cuts of meat, fresh vegetables and herbs. Everything is packed with care.

The entrees are delicious but the price…

The entrees are delicious but the price is extremely high. Delivery is great but the meats included are full of gristle and not at all what what I paid for. The fish are great but the pork beef and chicken are not the quality paid for

We love the tasty menus and have a few suggestions

We love the tasty menus and I do my best to follow them. Almost every meal is yummy but sometimes the vegetables you send are too ripe (this week, it was the kale); are not ripe enough (limes and lemons) or get squished in the box. Sometimes the recipe is incomplete (save half the seasoning to add later).. Sometimes the delivery box is wet underneath, a sign of a slow delivery, needs more ice or . With the hot summer coming, we ask you to deliver our box early and to not leave it sitting in the sun. Overall, your close attention to all the details keep us coming back for more meals.

Much Improved

Had several bad experiences with this company 3-4 years ago. Quality issues, missing items, delivery issues. It was pretty much a nightmare. However, I started trying them again about a year ago and they have resolved all previous issues. I’ve probably received 40+ boxes with minimal/no issues. Quality issues completely resolved. And no issues with deliveries. An occasional missing item, but that happens very rarely and MS credits your account. The recipes are usually really satisfying and taste great. Overall very pleased this time around.
