Very friendly and trustworthy guitar store, staffed by true lovers of all things guitar. Shout out to the owner Robbert who has an unfailing instinct for what real guitar aficionados want to see and try out. Imo no other guitar store in the Netherlands comes close.

Ik heb een gloednieuwe gitaar besteld. Na de bestelling kreeg ik een mailtje aan waarin stond dat de gitaar ging geinspecteerd worden voor verzending.

Uiteraard verwachtte ik dus een gitaar die afgesteld zou zijn, in goede toestand.

Echter kreeg ik een gitaar aan met ontzettend oude snaren, veel te lage actie (ik kon niet op de 13de fret spelen) en verder zijn de pick ups allebei bijzonder verschillend in hoogte (echt nog nooit gezien, jammer dat ik geen foto`s kan toevoegen.).

Nu zit ik opgescheept met een gitaar die ik alsnog naar een luthier zal moeten sturen, dat zal me dus extra geld kosten.

Ik ben teleurgesteld dat ze niet de extra moeite konden nemen. De gitaar die ik heb gekocht is een Hils gitaar, en ondanks de slechte setup zie ik dat dit echt wel goede gitaren zijn. Nu, ik zal na deze ervaring de basgitaar van hils + 7string (als deze uit is) wel ergens anders bestellen.

Before my visit I received fast and clear replies to emails. I made an appointment to check out a guitar I was interested in. At arrival I was impressed by the beautiful business with free parking in front of it. Friendly and professional staff, a HUGE collection of high end guitars and amplifiers. We got drinks offered, a large room to ourselves to do all the testing that was needed. The staff member who helped me was patient, helpful and respectful. Only when I asked questions he would give his opinion. The whole experience was very relaxed. And on top of that I got a very good deal on a beautiful instrument. Highly recommended!

Misleading photos, heavily modified amp, rude communication

I bought a vintage Fender amplifier from this shop, but what I received looked nothing like the pictures. Not only did the images not match the actual amp, it had also been heavily modified and was in a bad shape. Before buying it I asked questions about the condition of the amp. Robbert Van Der Ende replied that there was nothing to declare and the amp was in pristine condition, which was clearly not the case. Robbert stated that the amp came from his personal collection and was selected by sound. He called the modifications 'upgrades' which is clearly not the case on a vintage amp.

I decided to legally return the amp. The seller’s response was unprofessional and defensive. He denied any issue, called my complaint “strange,” and accused me of being a “stickler for details.” He also refused to refund the return shipping costs, even though the problem clearly originated on his end.

In the end, because a total lack of trust, I returned the amp in person to The Hague and was refunded the purchase price — but not a single cent of the shipping costs. Robbert himself was present in the shop but didn't even come behind his desk for a conversation. Very cowardly and unprofessional.

A shop that treats customers like this and hides behind misleading product listings is not to be trusted. I strongly advise buying elsewhere.

Today I visited Max for a setup of my Les Paul type guitar and - just as my previous visit - it is a great pleasure to see the professional luthiers at work. They are more than happy to explain every step in the process and make each visit a pleasure with their friendly and fun way of approaching their customers. The instrument played like butter after the work was done.

I did need to force myself to walk away without buying a new instrument - a stroll around their well-stocked shop has serious creditcard-damaging potential.

Still, I did walk out with a purchase - a great little NUX tuner pedal.

Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Great store, great experience across the board. Knowledgable staff. They don't come and harass you but if you have a question they are super helpful. Beautiful array of guitars from affordable to really high-end (NOVO!!!) :-) Would/will buy again!!

Eerst verkeerd product geleverd doch zelfde dag nog onmiddellijk geholpen en ondertussen juiste toegekregen. Topservice, heel behulpzaam en supersnel!

Mooie winkel op super plek in Scheveningen. Geen schade. Kleine afstellingen na conditioneren zelf nagelopen.

I bought two guitars from Max Guitar and I must say that the first guitar was excellent and very well priced and the service was top notch but the second guitar they sold me was Chibson of course at 595 euro and they could have told me as I asked. It is not ripping off anyone but it is something I could have bought for 200 euros from AliExpress. After that I wrote an email and got no answer. Over all they do have some good deal and good service but be careful with what you buy and what they tell you.

Vandaag voor onze zoon 11 jaar zijn eerste elektrische gitaar gekocht! Fantastisch geholpen. Wereldzaak! Veel keuze en goed en professioneel geholpen. 100% aanrader 👍🏻

J'ai reçu ma "D'angelico excel mini black dog " très rapidement (2jours ouvrables). Parfaitement réglée a mes spécifications avec un nouveau jeu de cordes et une super promo " final fret fire sale" adresse a retenir ils repondent très vite aux emails ,j'espère visiter le magasin bientôt.

Vandaag eastman e16ss gekocht bij Max gitar scheveningen. Heerlijke gitaar en topservice gehad van zowel het meisje, dat mij heeft geholpen als van de man, die er verse snaren op heeft gezet.

Snel geleverd en zeer netjes verpakt. Gitaar was ook perfect afgesteld en klonk als een klok.

Bought a masterbuilt Fender guitar that really is heaven....so was dealing with Max Guitar - All transactions with them was simply the best. Highly recommended!

Mijn Telecaster klonk niet meer zoals vanouds. Kon langskomen bij Repairshop en werd meteen opgelost door paar fretjes te levellen. Super service! Dank!

Bij mijn zoektocht naar een lichte en betaalbare headless gitaar die ook nog betrouwbaar is, handig in onderhoud, ergonomisch gebouwd en vlot bespeelbaar, kwam ik uit bij een Hils HN3. Bij reviews las ik echter dat die in de fabriek afgesteld werden met hoge actie, omdat de frethoogte nogal durfde afwijken, waardoor er dus makkelijk fretbuzz ontstond. Daarom aan Max Gitaar gevraagd om de gitaar af te stellen met zo laag mogelijke actie zonder fretbuzz. Ik kreeg onmiddellijk bevestiging dat dit zou gebeuren.

En wat een service: een perfect naar wens afgestelde gitaar met mooi afgewerkte frets, zelfs bij levering nog perfect gestemd, zeer vlot bespeelbaar, met mooi klankenpalet, in een stevige draagtas, en perfect beschermd in dubbele verpakking. Nooit gedacht dat je voor minder dan 500€, all-in thuis geleverd, nu nog zo'n prima gitaar en zo'n perfecte service zou krijgen. Bedankt, Max Guitar.
Absolute aanrader!

Ik heb een Fender Telecaster, naar het schijnt de 1e bouw die de Haar heeft gedaan tijdens zijn gitaarbouwlessen bij Vox Humana, ingeleverd voor afstelwerk en wat fret buzz. Hier kreeg ik een hele enthousiaste Paul aan de balie die zijn ziel en zaligheid heeft gelegd in het afstellen en fret levelling en wow wat een heerlijk spelende gitaar is het weer. Heb Paul hartelijk bedankt voor zijn gouden handen en service. Trouwens niet onbelangrijk, zeeeer vriendelijk geprijsd!! Super aanrader.
