I contacted McAlpine via their website to request some product information so that I could buy the correct replacement washers for a leaky bottle trap.

I received a very courteous reply from customer service the same day, and was delighted to be told that they would, in fact send me the parts I required. I now eagerly await their arrival.

...and McAlpine Plumbing Products of Glasgow certainly has one that is very worthy of the title (thankfully). I had a problem trying to identify a fairly old shower tray waste, in fact I didn't have a clue as to who the manufacturer was. I made a random phone call to McAlpine based on the fact that they seemed to be well respected in the plumbing trade. What a great piece of luck that was. I was put through to Margo Bolzicco who showed amazing patience and listened to me babbling on trying to explain what I needed, the lady was helpful in the extreme and sent me a parts diagram of what she thought I was trying to describe. Wow, spot on first time. Within an hour I had found a local supplier who had the very thing in stock, collected it returned home, fitted the bits I needed, tested the shower and lo and behold no more nasty smells coming from the drain. Margo and McAlpine thank you once again, incredible service.

I contacted McAlpine on behalf of a friend whose shower waste had gradually lost its chrome plating.
I couldn't unscrew it without a special plastic spanner which I presumed had come with the waste and been lost.
I contacted McAlpine via their website and Gillian Currie very kindly said she would send me the spanner and the chromed parts at no charge.
The parts arrived 2 days later and I fitted them today

Communication Was Key...we had an issue with a sub-part that we stock that appeared to be missing an O-Ring...my contact, Margo was fantastic, she investigated through their production departments and higher levels, kept me informed at all stages, even when she was waiting information from other departments, it was great to know that our issue wasn't forgotten. McAlpine even sent out as a gesture of goodwill, 102 O-rings to balance our current stock holding to ensure that we did not let our customers down, reported their honest findings and set up a new part code to include the O-ring so that we would never experience a repeat issue and no additional cost to ourselves. Complaint to Resolution process was exemplary...Well Done Margo & McAlpine.

Having just completed a new kitchen upgrade in our house. As part of that upgrade we moved the sink to a different part of the room. Because of the lack of service space that used to be behind kitchen units we had a new hole for the waste knocked through the stone wall. Then ran a 1 1/2 inch pipe around the outside wall to the drain. Because we installed a new 1 1/2 bowl sink and needed to run a diswaher and washing machine through the waste. I purchased the Mcalpine waste SSk2 which was easy to install and didnt take up too much space in the cupboard. Only problem the sink gurgled a lot so i bought a Mcalpine VP2 air admittance valve which i thought i could run into the unused part of the waste. This proved to be impossible to do so i raised a question on the Mcalpine website. Next day i had a very helpful guy ring me and told me the problems was the amount of elbows but i needed to use the V1ABSV-1.50-WH which would need to be installed the otherside of the trap.I then tried sending him some photo's via text. He then told me he was on whatsapp so i contacted him via that. because of space issue i then asked about a spigot bend which got me the answer, yes we do and its the MT4L . i then purchased them from Amazon and installed them as soon as they arrived. It has certainly quietened the gurgling. What brilliand Technical service. So much so that is why i wrote this review

Selling these at Easy Bathrooms has been great. customers and fitters are always seeking these products and they work great. Met Area Sales Manager Matthew Allen today and he was very informative.

We bought a (U) trap via another supplier, when it arrived there were no seals in the packet after contacting the supplier it sempt it would take a while with emails back and forth. Contacted Mcalpine plumbing from their contact us form on line Saturday the parts arrived this morning 24.6.2026 superb service .

The team at MacAlpine was fantastic from start to finish. From my initial enquiry through to the final outcome, the service was excellent.

Gillian was particularly helpful, knowledgeable, and informative throughout the process. We required an older version of the internal components for a shower trap, as removing the existing trap would have involved taking up the entire shower tray.

Gillian went above and beyond to source the correct parts for us and arranged for them to be dispatched immediately.

As a sales person, who's been in the plumbing trade for over 20 years, i have found that McAlpine is the best in the trade for the items that they manufacture and for the customer service that they provide when you need help to sort with and source their products if we don't stock it ourselves

McAlpine customer service staff are wonderful. I wasn't sure what the exact part was that I needed to get the right part for the job - Gillie Currie did! Gillie was first class, nothing was too much trouble and is a great representative for the company.
