Incredibly unreliable for a premium product. Have owned a meater+ for a few years now and it’s been riddled with problems. Battery life is now so poor, I get one two uses out of a single charge. At least 30% of the time it just doesn’t connect and I’m unable to start a cook.
You’d expect better than this on a budget probe but for this price it’s unacceptable.

Received as a present just over a Year ago. Now wont hold its charge for more than about 15mins. Multiple new batteries installed, cleaned charging station, still no joy. I was going to buy a few more of these but it's too much of a risk given how expensive they are. This one is going in the bin

Downgrading from two stars to 1 star. Many good words from Meater – seemingly just "kicking the ball into the long grass" - no real action to solve my issue. In their last response Meater stated that they would "genuinely love for you to give JDM one more opportunity to review your case and continue the conversation". JDM does not engage, and has not engaged since that comment. I would have thought, after prolonged engagement, that Meater would now take control – but sadly not. So I shall look for other makes of probe, after years using using the Meater probe. I shall do so with some sadness..

Absolutely unacceptable customer service from Meater.
One of my probes stopped working after less than a year and a half — for a product marketed and priced as “premium,” that alone is disappointing. But what was far worse was the way customer support handled it.
I wasted weeks going in circles with their support team doing endless pointless troubleshooting: reset this, test that, send videos, send screenshots, repeat the same steps over and over again. Every reply felt designed to delay rather than actually solve the issue.
Eventually, they told me they would get back to me with a solution and even asked for my full personal address because they were supposedly arranging a replacement. After keeping me waiting for weeks, they finally sent a pathetic one-line response saying that Malta is “not covered under warranty.”
So after wasting my time, collecting my personal details, and creating the clear expectation that they would replace the faulty product, they simply backed out with a technicality they could have mentioned from day one.
This is not how a serious company treats paying customers. Meater may have good marketing, but their after-sales support is terrible. Completely destroyed my trust in the brand.
Do not trust this company.

Meater der immer so ab 1-2 Jahren kaputt geht , der support ist eine einzige Katastrophe . ich zeige fotos die eindeutig beweisen das eine von den sonden die temperaturmessen ( die zweite ) immer um 10 grad tiefer als die anderen ist. un soll jetzt mit so einem abdul - im chat mit schlechter ki übersetzung ernsthaft eine tasse mit eis füllen und wasser 3-5 min rühren - ich mach es leicht angenervt - oh und wunder die eine sonde zeigt -9.6 die anderen 0 - jetzt eine halbe stunde später sagt er meine seriennummer wäre vom alten meater witzigerweise steht auf der ladestation überal nur meatr und meater plus drauf - die hatten mir damals nen meater pro mit meater plus ladestation verkauft - toll ! nach langem krampf scheint er endlich was zu veranlassen . Aber echt was ein Krampf der support und das für die Teure Elektronik

Meater Pro probe last only 1hour after a full charge with new batteries. I use new alkaline batteries, the contacts are clean and it repeatedly last less than 1 hour after every charge. In app shows it is fully charged before.I start using it.

A much-used birthday present from my late mother... until the base went wrong and customer services refused to do anything about it because I didn't have proof of purchase! Obviously their systems should be able to validate the purchase, but apparently that's too much to ask for anyone to show any care or understanding of the context.
So an expensive (and working) thermometer needs to be thrown away because of the base… and they now won’t communicate around whether I can just buy a new base. Absolutely ridiculous, let alone wasteful in an ever more sustainable world and of customer money. There's no point in building a premium product brand if you don't serve/support customers well... that's when you get priceless loyalty and advocacy. But that's now shattered. Avoid and buy a cheaper from Amazon.
**UPDATE**
The below response is a lie. I’ve spent weeks going back and forth with the company, providing plenty of information and they have both refused to help and have stopped communicating even after chasing to try to get to a resolution. Their response below is a false impression of caring and how they act in direct customer interactions.

Probe has a lot of issues. Brought from barbecues galore. The probe has always had connection issues, it works for about the 1st 2 hours of any cook and then just drops out connection between the probe and charger block.
I have followed all of the cleaning, charging and reset instructions with no luck. Same thing happens. The probe has never been over heated so it seems it’s just a bit of a lemon. I would recommend you save your money.
In response to the reply from Meater, I have also completed trouble shooting with the probe on my bench in close proximity to the charger block and within 300mm of my phone and experienced the same dropouts. So no issue with distance or disturbance of the signal. I have reset and repaired Bluetooth connections and checked for firmware updates nothing seems to fix my issue.

The parent company will have to take responsibility for this review even though it relates to their agent for the UK and Ireland. The product is fantastic and a joy to use……….until it goes wrong. I’m not going to go into detail, as I’ve been typing all evening dealing with a representative on the support channel, and getting nowhere fast. JDM, who are the agents for Ireland are impossible to deal with. Basically, I’ve purchased a €120 kit that broke and I don’t think anything is going to be done about it. I value my time so even this review is hassle. Bottom line, steer clear of this product if you expect professional after sales service.

Obwohl ich schon 2x mit dem Support gesprochen und gechattet habe passiert nichts. Mein Gerät ist in der Garantie und ein Sensor zeigt immer deutlich zu tief (mehr als 7°C). Ich habe Seriennummer und mehrere Temperaturmessungen übermittelt und man hat mir den Fehler bestätigt und zugesagt, dass ich Ersatz bekomme. Aber es ist nichts passiert. Gesprochen habe ich mit Mahmoud Ebeid. Gechattet mit Jess. Ich kann die Firma und den Support nicht empfehlen.
Heute habe ich erneut 34 Minuten ! mit dem Support gechattet. Dieses Mal mit Neo K. Ich habe eine Order Number erhalten: : DE972141281457SP. Leider ist man angeblich nicht lieferfähig, da kein Meater Pro auf Lager ist. :-( Im Meater Online Shop und auch bei Amazon sind die Geräte aber verfügbar. Da fühlt man sich als Kunde nicht wirklich gut bedient. Das ist keine akzeptable Garantieabwicklung.

The product itself is great, very accurate and well built. And if you ever do have issues you know you've got the support to fix them.

I have been a meater customer from the early days. Meater +, Meater Block, Meater Pro Duo. While the tech kept improving (higher temps, thinner needles, wifi etc.) one main problem remains: Connectivity. It’s unstable, off and on etc. it’s mostly annoying when you just put everything on the grill and then both meater pro devices decide to lose connectivity “move your device closer to the probe” while the distance is literally 30cm. Interestingly, on all 3 models I have purchased over the years, these issues start at a later point after the purchase. Few weeks/months in. For that kind of money I would expect something way more reliable.

Bought one of these for my husband for Christmas several years ago. Fantastic! After about a year it simply stopped working. To be fair, Meater’s customer service was excellent in that they replaced it with new one for us. Sadly, that second one has now stopped working. I suspect a replacement one won’t happen twice, so we’ll have to learn to live without it ☹️

I am not reviewing the company, I am reviewing the product - Meater SE. It may be because it’s the entry level model (yet it’s c.£80, so not a bargain basement price), but it doesn’t work most of the time when grilling on a Weber BBQ with a closed lid. I contacted the company about it and they patronisingly explained that I may want to familiarise myself with Faraday cage effect to understand why it doesn’t work. Ok, thank you. I understand that bbq grill reduces Bluetooth connectivity, but there are definitely probes that work despite being in the closed grill. My guess is it’s just not very strong Bluetooth connection and I need to buy a different probe from a different brand.

Meater pro single probe har egentligen aldrig fungerat utan strul. Antingen är det långa procedurer för att få den att koppla upp. När den väl gör det och tillagningen startar med en dyr fisk eller köttbit väljer den att koppla ner. Jag har nu malt ner den i komposten och kommer aldrig mer att köpa något från detta företag

EDIT : Despite telling me to get in touch to "explore other options" I was just told they were unable to help. I suspect they just use this as standard reply to bat away negative reviews as I have seen the same reply on other reviews.
Please be very wary of using this product it is clearly very cheaply made and is potentially dangerous with strange white adhesive leaking from the product with normal and actually quite infrequent use ruining any meat you are probing. The number and regularity of 1 star reviews pointing out issues is very telling - I wish I had checked before purchasing.

Thermometer completely fell apart after pulling it out of a joint of meat with a strange white adhesive going everywhere meaning I had to throw the food out as had no idea if it was food safe or not.
Was 2 months out of warranty and I got the expected response that they were unable to help as it was out of warranty.
When spending £100 on a meat thermometer I would expect it to last more than 2 years with light use, and the fact their warranty only covers that says a lot about their expectation of the the quality of the product. I have a Thermapen which is coming up to 10 years old and still going strong.
Very disappointing, will buy a ThermoWorks RFX which apparently have much better build quality than Meater.
