Not for what was designed/marketed

The generation 1 meaters can handle up to 275C. I had it twice over this temperature for minutes and was destroyed.

Clearly this was not designed for cooking and especially grilling. Even with gas grill nothing is grilled below 220-250c. At this temperatures the probe reports >275 due to contruction and practically is unusable.

The worst 120 I spent. I have a better meater from temu with just 10 euros

Thank you for your review. The generation 1 MEATERS have a max ambient temp of 275°C/527°F. Our new Pro collection MEATERS have a max ambient temp of 550°C/1000°F. These limits are based off of reasonable temperature expectations when cooking meat. The ambient sensor is only intended for use in indirect heat. False advertisement

On their website they claim "Free Shipping On All Orders", and then at check-out they want to charge me €25.00 for shipping. This should be illegal. To make things worse, there is no any convenient way to contact their support - it's like they don't want to be contacted or bothered. I guess you can't rely on them if you have any issues with your device later on.

Esperienza di acquisto terribile

Ho comprato bundle Meater Pro XL a 397 EUR dallo store EU ufficiale. Il prodotto e' arrivato con i sigilli gia' aperti. Su 4 sonde, 3 non si collegavano piu' al dispositivo del Block. Ho dovuto spedire il prodotto indietro a mie spese: 79 EUR di corriere di cui non ho avuto il rimborso. Ho dovuto contattare il servizio clienti cosi' tante volte che ho perso il conto. La peggiore esperienza di acquisto online. Non comprero' Meater mai piu'.

I bought Meater Pro XL bundle at 397 EUR from EU Store. I received the package with seals broken. Out of 4 probes, 3 failed to pair to the Block, keeping idling for weeks. I asked for return and refund and had to pay 79 EURs out of my pocket to send the Block back. I had to contact the customer support so many times that I lost the count. Worst experience ever. I will never buy Meater again.

BUYER BEWARE

Meater does NOT stand behind their product. I have had multiple issues with mine with respect to range, false alerts, and disconnection. I have received alerts that I exceeded the maximum temperature of 500 degrees when my BBQ never registered over 450. When I spoke to customer support they said that flare ups can put you over even though the ambient temperature doesn't exceed the 500 degrees and therefore they are out of warranty. Excuse me, are these not designed for a bbq experience? So in essence, DO NOT BUY these if you get flames on your bbq. I asked them if I could exchange the unit for an additional cost for the Pro XL and was told flat out NO. Horrible customer service, they do not stand by their product. You will at some point be disappointed with the Meater block. Its only a matter of time.

Thank you for your review. The ambient sensor is only intended for use in indirect heat and can reach 527°F. The Pro collection can reach 1000°F. When diagnosing an issue, determines a replacement is needed, we will send it at no cost as long as it falls under the warranty period and guidelines. Inconsistent connection between the meater probe and charger on a regular basis despite following the troubleshooting instructions making this a completely unreliable product

Thank you for your review. If it is inconsistent in connecting, it could need to be cleaned. We recommend using steel wool (Brillo) and making sure to get the sensor. If it connects but then disconnects during use this can be a range issue. Here is the link to the Wizard who will direct you to the needed information. Traeger Fire - MEATER saves the day.

Today my MEATER saved our house from a Traeger grill fire. Our Traeger randomly caught fire and the MEATER app alerted us that something was wrong with our smoke. 10/10 recommend a MEATER to make sure your grill doesn’t burn your house down. Unfortunately, our MEATER was scorched during the fire (I’m hoping MEATER will replace it - will update). We’ve had our MEATER for 4 years and it’s worked great!

Original review was 5 stars… changing my review based on their customer service. They were unable to assist me with a replacement since the MEATER was on fire it went above the warranty temperature.

Loses connection as soon as I put one…

Loses connection as soon as I put one of the devices in the oven or grill. The substation seems like it needs be to right next to the probe to read it. This has been an ongoing issue since I received the item back in Christmas.

As an avid cooker both inside and out…

As an avid cooker both inside and out with all types of cooking means, I feel this is the worst product with a lot to go in its technology. Come to find out even spending $200 for the Meater block, you have to be within 40 feet of the appliance and the block with the probes to try and have it connect to the Wi-Fi. This means that you can only cook in one area whether inside or out without duplicating and losing your connection. This is a poor technological miss on development and marketing. This means you can only cook either inside or outside, but not both. They rely on a 3/16” area on the probe to keep precisely clean for accurate connection so bring out your Brillo pads and sandpaper and get ready to have the shiniest surface still without connection. The app is great if it worked, but it doesn’t and I am asking the company for a refund if not a replacement to remove this review. For now I will stick to old school thermometers and hope that this company comes around and stays true to their word of reading each review that comes in and handling it appropriately. I look forward to talking with them again as my claim number has been in for three weeks and still no action so I will keep you posted.

Thank you for your review. The probes to the Block has a range of 33FT in open air. Environmental factors can play a role, as well as other Bluetooth devices interfering with the connection. To maximize your range, the Block must be as close as safely possible to the probe. It is important to keep your probes clean. If a film of grease coats the sensor, it will prevent it from charging and connecting. Very disappointed

Very disappointed to find out that the Meater Pro I purchased at a Big Box Store did not come with a storage box. My Friend purchased his from the Meater website and he received one. If I had known I would have not have purchased it from the Retailer. I paid the same price, just did not purchase it directly from Meater.

Although we cannot really control what is done once it arrives at the retailer, you may wish to reach out to them directly and see if they can provide the missing box.

I have had nothing but problems one…

I have had nothing but problems one minute is fine next its battery is dead then it’s not reading. The temp is different from other readers idk it never just works there is always something.

Das Gerät hat noch nicht ein einziges…

Das Gerät hat noch nicht ein einziges Mal problemlos funktioniert. Gerne fordert es vor dem Grillen zum Update auf ??? Update für ein Thermometer ??? welches zuvor nicht und hinterher such nicht funktioniert. Totaler Fehlkauf. Für das Geld kann Mann oder Frau sich einmalig bei Fleurop ein ordentliches Steak bestellen.

I own the Meater Pro Duo

I own the Meater Pro Duo. I also own two of the Meater Plus. I never really add any issues with the older Plus besides the Bluetooth range wasn't very far. I got the Pro since it connects to Wi-Fi. When the Pro works, it's been great however I've had continuous battery issues. When I got to use it, the batteries are dead. Even after I fully charged them after my prior cook. What's even more frustrating is the support. I've tried to chat multiple times and the reps disconnect the chat before trying to help. They claim there's a warranty however I can't even get someone to help. I've also read through all the manuals and FAQ's. Not sure what else to do.

Hello, and thank for your review of the MEATER Pro Duo. We have noticed rare cases where some Pro Duos were quickly losing their charge while stored. This was addressed in our latest firmware update, and should be corrected if your device is using v3.0.9.8 or later. You can find the current version in the app by going to the settings (3 dots at top of screen), tapping My Devices, then selecting your MEATER under My Paired Extender Devices. However, if your firmware is up to date, you can check for more common causes, such as residue on the flat end of the probe, physical damage to any part of the unit, and corrosion in the battery compartment of the charger. If you'd like some help doing any of this, but are encountering technical issues with our chat line, you can also call MEATER Customer Service directly for assistance, and one of our agents can go through the above steps, as well as some others, for improving your Pro Duo’s battery life.

Excellent product!!

Decided to read some of the reviews & don't understand the complaints by those who seem to be dissatisfied or have difficulty with the app. I've had my MEATER for about 5 years & it's always worked wonderfully. Works great on the BBQ located outside. Foods are always fantastic & the app is so user friendly. Would never cook without the MEATER. Always reliable and I clean it after every use once it cools down.

Thank you for your feedback. Even though MEATER devices are designed to work with a variety of appliances, not all of them will work with our products. Microwaves or microwave-convection ovens are designed to keep harmful waves inside during cooking, therefore the Bluetooth signal cannot get through them. If your oven isn’t heavily insulated, please contact our Customer Support team to investigate the issue further at support.meater.com.

Great, but not super great.

I ordered on 1/22/25 and received it relatively quickly. I have used them on briskets, steaks, chickens, and various pork products. Pretty pleased with the results and feel that it works better than the original in terms of connectivity and monitoring. There is still a variance in ambient temp, even when the probs are in the same piece of meat . Not much difference in the block, would have been nice to have a larger screen. For the price, you would expect the numeric probe clips to be included, but they are not.

Thank you for your review. The ambient sensor is designed to read the temperature directly around the sensor. You can have different temps in the same cut of the meat depending on factors like thickness, If it is a fatty area or has bone. Hot spots in the appliance. Sorry but it simply does not work.
The estimated time can jump from 30 minutes to finish to 10 minutes in a matter of seconds. The ambient temperature is usually 20% lower than the oven temperature. Don’t waste your money buying this buy a proper thermometer

Hello, and thanks for your review. The ambient reading is not really there to provide the internal temperature of the cooking appliance, but rather the temperature at the surface of whatever is being cooked. This is done for estimating cook times and is affected by several factors, such as the cooling effect of moisture evaporation from meats (similar to how perspiration works) and the surface temperature of the food. But it can also be thrown off if the probe is inserted too far, as the sensor might make contact with the meat, which will be cooler than the surrounding air. For the best results, try to have the probe end about 2” (5 cm) out from the food, as this will not only ensure that the minimum depth ring (grooved circle about halfway up the probe) is below the surface, but should also improve the cook estimates as well.

Great Concept, Horrible Product

Great Concept, but horrible product. There are many more reason to not buy this product than there are to buy it. Purchase the MEATER Block in July of 2024 and it lasted a few months and of course the warranty is exclusive and doesn’t cover your common issues. For instance, one of the four probes is exposed to exclusive heat and now the entire product to include the block and remaining probes are no longer covered under the warranty. Also another major issue is connectivity. Don’t plan on using these for any thick walled grills or smokers to include a green egg or similar. Likewise they will not transmit from an oven. Stay anyway the product is no good and the company doesn’t stand behind it.

Thank you for your review of the MEATER. Range in an open air setting from the probes to the charger is 33 FT/10 M. Envormental obstructions and heavy metals will impact the range. This is my 3rd probe my 2nd charging…

This is my 3rd probe my 2nd charging station and lots of meat. Nothing has worked all crap. Don’t want more probes or stations just my money back I will do this every day till I get refunded
