Skyelar was amazing!
Skyelar was amazing and so good with my senior cat. She took care of everything and my cat loved her (and she rarely lets anyone go near her). I can trust her with anything.

Alyssa was wonderful
Alyssa was wonderful. She took care of two very 'needy' rescues who trusted her and even sat on her on occasion for cuddles- a great achievement for two cats with trust issues. She also took care of two other cats in mny house and fed my feral community outside. She sent photos to me every single day of my kitty family so I was able to relax knowing they were in the best hands. I would highly recommend her.

Megan exceeded all expectations!
Megan exceeded all expectations! I recently hired her for a five-day cat-sitting and house-sitting reservation, and she was fantastic. Not only did she take wonderful care of my cat, but she also went above and beyond by bringing in my mail and packages while taking excellent care of my home. I felt completely at ease the entire time. Highly recommend!

No refund when airlines cancel
Basically, a good company but beware - Delta canceled my flight less than 24 hours from start of pet sitter due to bad weather, and Meowtel charged the full amount- they did not refund one penny of my reservation. Seems a more fair way would be at least a partial refund. I have travel insurance, but they do not cover this type of claim. Think carefully before you reserve.
For BEST results, try to find a sitter who is stable and has been there for awhile. The nature of the job is that sitters come and go with high frequency. I had another trip coming up and they would have allowed me to change dates and use the money I had already paid, but you cannot switch sitters if you need to switch dates. The sitter I had paid for was quitting before my next trip in a month.
While I thank Meowtel for their response, it is disingenuous. When I went to the site to cancel bc of flight cancellation, I was given 2 choices: 1. Change dates- and when I tried I could not bc the sitter would no longer work there and I could not choose another sitter for the Aug trip- and 2. I was advised I would receive no refund. So all of this business about discussing it with the sitter is false.
Again- lack of info provided to patrons. There is no mention of this when you cancel.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that your travel plans were unexpectedly disrupted.
Meowtel's cancellation policy is designed to balance flexibility for clients with fairness for the independent sitters who reserve time on their schedules for each booking. For cancellations made close to the start of a reservation, the policy may allow the sitter to retain some or all of their planned earnings to account for the time they've reserved and the preparation they've already made.
At the same time, sitters are always welcome to override the standard cancellation policy and issue a larger refund if they choose. We encourage clients to discuss unexpected circumstances directly with their sitter, as they're able to make that decision based on the situation. If you ever need assistance with those conversations, you're also welcome to reach out to us at bellhop@meowtel.com.
If a refund is issued, it is first applied as Meowtel account credit. That credit can be used toward a future reservation with any available sitter, or you may request a refund back to your original payment method.
Update: To clarify, the cancellation flow reflects the standard cancellation policy based on the timing of the cancellation. Independent sitters may choose to override that outcome and issue an additional refund at their discretion, but Meowtel isn't able to make that decision on a sitter's behalf. If assistance is ever needed, we're always happy to help facilitate those conversations.
Meowtel is the best!
Our cat-sitter, Tamara, was fabulous! It took a few tries to find the perfect fit, but Tamara is so sweet with our three cats, even our difficult old man who can be grumpy with strangers. The app is easy to use at all stages including making and modifying reservations and communicating with our sitter, and Tamara shared pictures every day of our cats, their food and water, and the sparkling clean litter boxes; she even sent pictures of our armed home security system for our peace of mind! Having this service lets me and my husband go on vacation sure that our pets are in good hands.

If you’re a bona fide cat lover and owned by precious cats, you can trust Meowtel to provide caring and quality cat care. After losing their long time sitter, nerves were wrought in finding a solid replacement. My friends, not 1, but 2 solid replacements were found. Exceptional Cat caregivers
The cat caregivers are thoroughly vetted. They are truly experts in cat behavior. My caregiver was superior in her ability to handle my cat who is shy and can be temperamental. My cat is a one person pet. My caregiver won her favor on the first visit. They will be friends for life.

Superior kitty care!
Carol is very careful to take care of all the main needs of my 2 cats while I'm gone, and leaves me pix and any other comments re my cats' behavior while I'm away. She's very responsible and careful about giving my kitties all the care and attention that I would do if I were home!

Happy I found Meowtel.
After I reviewed local sitters for my cat, I found Meowtel, where I found Emily. I sent her a message and she responded shortly after and I reserved her to check in on my cat daily while I was away to feed her, clean her litter, change her water and play with her for a little while. We scheduled a meet and greet and she was very attentive and I felt comfortable giving her a key to my home. She took very good care of my cat. I would not have met her without Meowtel. I will be using her again when I am away.
