Bad customer service
My family and I had a late check-in after visiting Legoland for two consecutive days. The reception did not welcome us as expected; they just gave us the keycard for the room without providing any instructions. They didn’t inform us that we needed to book pool access separately, and there were no welcome drinks that we were supposed to receive.
When we entered our room, the television was not working. They sent someone to fix it, and although it was initially repaired, it stopped working again in the middle of the night. When I called the receptionist, I was told they would try to fix it the next day since they didn't have in-house maintenance or even an on-call service, which is unacceptable for a large hotel lacking 24-hour service for such issues. The receptionist mentioned he would attempt to fix it himself, but if he couldn’t, it would be addressed the following day. This was frustrating as we were only staying overnight as an extension of our Legoland trip. I asked why they couldn't provide us with a room where all the amenities were functional. Eventually, they gave us a new room, but it had a broken phone and an old television that wasn’t a smart TV like the first one.
The next day, when we asked the receptionist for pool access, we discovered it should have been arranged during check-in and should have included two pool accesses for an overnight stay. We also learned that we had uncollected welcome drinks. However, at that time, alcohol was prohibited before a specific hour in the afternoon, leaving us with only juice or soft drinks as options. It was frustrating that they didn’t accommodate us properly due to their mistake.
The check-in time was supposed to be 2 PM, and the check-out was 11 AM. Overall, it was a bad experience for a first-time visit, as it can ruin your night if the hotel leaves you without options unless you explicitly ask for assistance. The receptionist and the manager that night didn't sound professional in dealing with these types of complaints, giving me an excuse like, "We don’t have control over the availability of maintenance. We are here to provide you with information, work our 8-hour shift, and go home." I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Terrible stay at dated and dirty Salford Copthorne
Booked my daughter (19) into this hotel where a course was being held. Was also considering a nearby premier inn. Booked in the website as it had an offer for free breakfast and parking and would mean she didn't need to eat outside the hotel by herself.
Upon arrival the free breakfast was no longer on the offer (despite us paying in advance), and logging into the system showed no breakfast.
The room was dated, dirty (long black hairs over the bathroom floor - my daughter is blond). The tv kept turning itself on during the night. Room service (which was advertised on the tv) was not available. Used food trays were left in the corridors for hours (there at lunchtime and still there at 4pm) despite housekeeping going past tray. In the 3 days she stayed housekeeping didn't visit her room. Receptions often didn't answer phone.
I contacted millennium via FB who gave me an email for the local manager who would deal with the issue, never had a response. Told millennium again on fb, guess what, no responce. Terrible hotel company.
Wished she'd have gone to premier inn
Really disappointed

Needs to be a star rating for basic customer services and effective or in this case non effective business practices
1 stars for rooms because aesthetically they look good, just unfortunate that there are a lot of snagging issues, meaning basic facilities don’t work as they should, mould and damp issues.
1 star for service because they tell customers on arrival they can provide services they do not. When you follow the processes they have advised you to follow on numerous occasions to obtain said benefits or services they do not work. When you communicate the frustration and about the services they offered you are then told their team made a mistake and they do not want to rectify the issue in accordance to the fair trading act. (Falsely advertising services you cannot deliver) .
Tried to offer a remedy which meant I was more out of pocket (loss of money) and when you don’t agree they
Then the hotel contacts your employer about a personal issue and complaint that happened after your stay and has nothing to do with the employer and tried to get them to tell you, you have no right of remedy.
Wow! Not only has the data protection act been breached Millennium and copthorne hotels, you would rather use bullish tactics to disregard a customers fair feedback instead of rectifying the issues you created.
Will not refund money owed !!
I booked a room for a one night stay at the Salford Quays Copthorne Hotel on the Millennium Hotels official website.
On arrival at the hotel check in I was asked to pay £72.58 for the room.
I showed the receptionist my confirmation email from Millennium Hotels with card payment details, I was told that no payment had been taken and the card details were only taken "in case of cancellation" so I had no option but to pay as requested.
On receipt of my next card statement I noticed 2 separate charges had been taken by the hotel, one on the date I booked online, and the second when I checked in at the hotel.
That was 3 weeks ago, I have since telephoned the hotel on 3 occasions and each time the person I speak to promises that a full refund of my £72.58 will be made immediately.....No refund has been made!!!!
I have spoken to 3 different members of hotel staff, all have lied to me and have not done what they promised.
I have emailed the Copthorne hotel and Millennium Hotels head office for an explanation and my refund, I have had no response from either.
I asked to speak to the Salford Copthorne hotel manager and was told he was " not available" and was given an email address for him, so I emailed him directly, the email bounced back to me as non existent address....
This appalling lack of customer service in a multinational company is inexcusable. They owe me this money, the hotel staff have admitted it was their fault and have repeatedly made false promises to me regarding refunding the money they owe for overcharging me.
Please think twice before booking any Millennium or Copthorne Hotel,(especially Salford Quays) these people obviously have no respect for their customers and treat them with utter contempt.
Absolutely awful 😢 + Asylum Seekers
Absolutely awful. We stayed at the copthorne Hotel in the West Midlands and the area was quite nice, big shopping center near by, but the hotel was like something from the 90s and the gym that is attached was absolutely filthy and has literally no toilets and no staff. On googling it to complain, we discovered that there are other hotel near Gatwick Airport, is full of asylum seekers.
Very disappointed
Booked as a Millenium member at the Chelsea Football Club. What a dump! First impression wasn’t good as the up escalator from the foyer to reception wasn’t working. Queue to check in. Our room 601 was very disappointing. Stained furniture, cracked and stained wash basin, TV Chanel’s pixelated, drab and very dim lighting, no bedside phone charging points or sockets. Will not return.
The Spa - Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill
Having visited the spa yesterday, I’d just like to share some feedback regarding the treatment I opted for - back and shoulder massage. I am familiar with various styles of massage (sports, deep tissue, etc) so I anticipate that muscle sensation you usually feel afterwards, which can be sore but shouldn't be painful to touch, from my experience.
Unfortunately, the technique from the start was really unappealing as her fingers/knuckles tended to dig into my shoulders/neck/back, as if she was using wooden sticks (this is the only way I can describe it). What was even more disappointing and perhaps something that the spa could address, was the lack of spa-like aroma with essential oils. Instead, some freezing cold oil was squirted onto my back with no notice, coupled with her freezing cold hands. It really was an unpleasant massage.
Great service
Great service, at Slough, Windsor, warm welcome from reception through to the bar from Arjan, Monika, Vitas and Raghez, I have stayed here a lot over the last 4 months and always the same welcome

Stayed here as a group on sat 6th of April after being let down by booking.com last minute. Absolutely delighted with the 3 rooms we had as all were fresh & spotless. Lily on reception was an absolute little gem & got us our rooms together, nothing was too much for her. Restaurant & bar area lovely decorated & atmosphere was fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Aberdeen
Any where but here
Millennium hotel Stamford bridge Chelsea. Attitude f staff is as we are here we can do what we want, well closing the bar at 11pm and I mean closing the bar even though you were understaffed and we were waiting 10-15 mins in a queue but refusing to serve any one after 11 even thought they had been waiting to be served for 15 mins. match night plenty people around could have made some serious money by bending the rules ! But no won’t be staying here again and I had clients here paid over £1200 for rooms. Will look else where next time
DO NOT STAY in Copthorne Auckland
We stayed in Copthorne Auckland and whilst the people were great and service good the room was disgusting. The bathroom door would not shut, the shower leaked, the tiles were cracked as was the side of the sink (a disgusting black coloured patch). We complained about this and they came to fix the door but only managed to force it part way shut, leaving lots of paint chippings on the floor. Altogether appalling. Also, I have written to Customer Services to complain and heard nothing.
I was looking for a nice hotel in the…
I was looking for a nice hotel in the Plymouth area, to take my cousin away for her 70th Birthday week.
I only needed 1 night and 1 room with twin beds and Parking essential as we are both elderly and disabled.
The Copthorn Hotel looked nice. The pictures showed how lovely it all seemed. I read they reviews on their page, all looked good. I even took out insurance, to give me my money back, as my cousin has not been well.
The Parking is underneath the hotel, so that seemed good. It wasn't until it was booked in that I was told via email that it's best to get there early, as the car park is first come first served!! I explained we couldn't get there any early, due to prior appointments. I explained that my cousin and I were elderly and disabled. They then reiterated its first come first served. There's other car parks you can use.
I was not happy. So I said, I wanted to cancel and get my money back. Booking.com had suggested the insurance to me, ZURICH is the insurer.
However, with the continued correspondence The Copthorne Hotel started saying I had it all wrong. They apparently had told me, they would guarantee me a parking space, they would help with our luggage and use the staff lift from the car park. None of this was said to me. I was being called a liar!!!
I've sent all the relevant emails, to Booking.com and The Copthorne Hotel.
The Copthorne hotel has decided to keep my money,£83.52, as I had cancelled!!!
This was their reply…….

Catastrophe
Disability discrimination, My partner and I are disabled ( my wife highly mentally- schizophrenia and depression, I’m physical). and I cannot eat sitting down, the day before yesterday they allowed us to take breakfast up to the room and eat it there, but today they protested against it. We told them that we are disabled, I can't sit and eat, they can clearly see that I walk on crutches with a cane... ( other people able to take!) Fortunately, they returned the money we paid, but I don’t received it yet
Great Stay - Copthorne Hotel Newcastle
Copthorne Hotel Newcastle - Stayed for two nights for a work event. The staff were excellent all throughout starting with Stephanie the events manager, when booking with her I found her approachable and she was very accommodating with our constant changing requirements. On arrival, check in was friendly and straightforward, and my bedroom was lovely. A gorgeous floor to ceiling bay window overlooking the Tyne. Spacious room and clean. You can hear the Metro passing by but this didn't bother me or interrupt my sleep. Breakfast was peaceful and there were plenty of places to sit as well as a good variety of food. A handy notice in the lift informed of the busiest times to have breakfast. The conference room was spacious as requested with a constant supply of hot drinks, biscuits and water. The wifi was a little problematic but after informing reception they called their technician to rectify. The only issue was the temperature in the conference room. I wonder if the thermostat was broken. The heat was perfect everywhere in the hotel but chilly in the conference room. Several members of our group requested a late check-out which was easily arranged, even though it was a last minute request. A lunch was provided as part of our event, and this was delicious and plentiful. Parking was complimentary and there were enough spots for everyone. I would definitely use them again for work events and for personal trips. Thank you for a great stay.
Appalling hotel
I recently booked a one night stay at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington West London. Unfortunately I made a genuine mistake and booked it for the night before the actual date I needed to stay. I booked it directly through their website at 20:30 the evening prior to my stay the following day.
As soon as I realised my mistake I rang the hotel front desk and explained the situation. The receptionist said there was nothing she could do but advised me to email the reservations department and follow it up with a call the next morning, which I duly did.
I called the reservations department at 9 o'clock that morning, spoke with a guy who proceeded to tell me I would have to call the front desk as there was nothing he could do. Made a call to the front desk again, fobbed of with... call the reservations department.
Several phone calls and a personal call to the front desk I was informed there was absolutely nothing they could do and the company had already taken the funds for the room.
I find it absolutely appalling that in this day and age someone within this company can't make a few mouse clicks and change a date. Secondly the staff within this hotel obviously need further training to determine who can or can't do something.
Thirdly why is this hotel chain actually on Trust Pilot as in each and every review they can't be bothered to respond to peoples complaints. Neither did they respond to my email so not really a surprise.
An appalling hotel who I will never use again.
Copthorne Slough Windsor avoid it like the plague - Definitely Not a 4 Star hotel
We stayed at the Copthorne Hotel Slough between the 7 - 10 September. This was to celebrate my 67th birthday and I have to say it was a very disappointing time. To start with my car was damaged in the car park due to the very low roof. The duty manager showed me the signs that are clearly out of any driver line of sight. Drivers would be like me worried about the very narrow entrance to the car park than cast their eyes up to a sign that must be 2.5 metres in the air. My eyes in the driving position are about 1.2 meters and because it was a sunny day I had the drivers sun visor blocks the sign and the other sign inside the car park. Clearly not fit for purpose.
Room 126 had mould around silicon bath sealer, not a good look and certainly not good for health benefits.
On the second night the toilet flush handle came detached and no flushing toilet. Reception did not think this was an important issue, very blasé in their attitude and when we arrived back from our dinner, we asked reception if the toilet had been fixed, the reception found the report and said he had no idea. Excellent customer care and no one in this hotel has any idea what was going on. Another issue is having to explain twice every time I spoke to someone, not listening through idleness.
On the final night of our stay we arrived back from London only to find the bed had not being made and bed boarder wrap and cushions was still on the settee, pulling back the quilt only to find the sheet had not been touched.
Receiving text messages to ask when we are leaving on Saturday at 9.03pm whilst eating at the Duck & Waffle birthday treat is not relevant at all and we have the room till 11:00am the next day.

The staff members were friendly although the rooms are quite outdated. This hotel is situated at a quite decent location which allows you to access trams and buses to reach out different parts of Manchester.

My wife and I stayed Copthorne Tara Hotel London. the receptionist, Nosheen, was very accommodating and approachable. She provided great service to us and was very professional and seems like a valuable employee. Well done Nosheen!
Heap of Junk
My wife and I have just stayed 2 nights at this hotel. What a disgraced. I and my my wife are both disabled with me being a wheelchair. We booked a twin room on a lower lever. On check in we were told we had be upgraded. The first room was on a high floor 9 I think. When we finally got to the room it was a double with no shower with most of the wall paper peeling off the wall. Our room was changed a further 3 occasions but not to what we had booked months ago. The hotel was fully booked with tourist guest apparently.,NO apology or offer of compensation just took the £400 reservation. Needless to say we won’t be staying again and I suggest NOBODY does either. I travel a lot and this has to be a bottom pile heap of junk.
Did not give me the refund I was…
Did not give me the refund I was promised. I was given a cancelation number with the assurance a refund would happen. They will not return calls or emails. If it could be a zero star review I would give them that. Do not stay or make reservations here!
