Great communication and clarity
Great communication. I choose MJD Residential Surveying because the site said it used clear language. I understood the explanations given by Max at the site visit, however the report was very in depth (not just the issue which prompted the survey) and covered everything you would expect from a level 3 survey. The survey was for a 150 yr old Cotswold stone cottage, as expected there is a number of things that need addressing. However I like the provided list of immediate attention and what can be grouped together to reduce costs, and things to be addressed in the near future, which helped with a list and focus. Brilliant experience
Brilliant experience. Fast booking. Jack was very thorough and extremely patient when giving me the initial findings over the phone, before the actual report was sent over. We needed to understand what we were buying from a level 3 perspective BEFORE we instructed our solicitor in our house purchase, and the efficiency of the whole process helped us do do this. Very helpful with follow-ups
I rarely leave reviews, but I had great service from Max and wanted to comment - the report itself was very detailed, and Max was very patient both on a call after the survey was completed and even with additional questions that came up a few weeks later. The price was very competitive for a surveyor doing one survey per day to allow enough time for a good job.

The survey was easy to book using the online customer portal and the admin team were still on hand for any questions via email. Max did a very thorough Level 3 RICS survey and was happy to answer any questions I had on the day. The report that was sent through 7 days later was very detailed, thorough and helpful. I would highly recommend this company and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. The price was competitive and worth every penny!

Overall very smooth and excellent service. We had a Level 3 survey from Max for an older property. Max took the time to call me and go through all the points in detail. I had follow up questions which were answered immediately and clearly. Great value for money compared to other surveyors, included costings as well.

Overall the process went extremely smoothly. Good communication throughout and a great quality report at the end of the process. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a RICS level 2 survey.

Very professional and comprehensive as well as personal, at great value
Before emailing the survey report to me Max phoned to go through the important points. After I received and read the survey I spoke again to Max to discuss implications and options, which gave me a much better ability to put any potential issues into context. Max said to call again if I had any further questions or concerns. It is great to know you are getting follow up support. The emailed report was extremely comprehensive and included a large number of photos of difficult places to see i.e. roof and chimneys. (I am not convinced that using AI to prepare the wording adds any value though; not as personal as the phone calls). Before going to MJD I booked a survey with a much larger firm, who badly let me down by not bothering to carry out the survey. I definitely chose well with using MJD for the personal approach of a family run business, which did not cost more.

We had a level 3 rics survey undertaken. The report was extremely thorough and we had an on the day update via phone from the surveyor too. Additional questions could be asked via email or phone and responses were very prompt. Excellent value for money.

A highly professional and supportive service from start to finish
We recently instructed Max to carry out a Level 3 Building Survey, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. The report was extremely thorough, detailed, and easy to understand, giving us real confidence in our decision making.
Before choosing Max, I had actually obtained several quotes, including from some of the larger, well known agencies. However, after reviewing sample reports, Max’s stood out for its depth and clarity, and I’m really glad we decided to go with him.
What really impressed me was how generous Max was with his time. He walked us through his findings on a phone call after the inspection, and then took the time again on a follow up call to answer further questions we had. Nothing felt rushed, and he was incredibly patient and clear throughout.

Would definitely recommend MJD
Would definitely recommend MJD for your home survey. We had a level 2 survey completed by Max. Communication throughout was great. Very easy to book online, they took care of the rest. Max phoned straight after the survey was completed to provide an early feedback. A full report was then produced which was very detailed and easy to understand. Highly recommended.
