Helpful for students and rewarding for instructors
I always recommend MyFirst to my learners because they specialize in young driver insurance. The fact that they have a referral scheme for instructors is a huge bonus. I’ve seen a nice return this month and the support from the team has been excellent.

Spoke to Luca he couldn’t have helped us any more than he did bless him. he explained every detail so well couldn’t have done it without him. He quoted us many different prices start dates and gave us the best possible option even stayed on the line while we sorted out bank situation.

A couple of things to definitely watch…
A couple of things to definitely watch out for:
1. They tell you to keep the mileage low to keep your premium down, then down the line when you inevitably go over, they charge you a fortune.
2. The plans say they start your no claim discount straight away and that you will be provided with proof of no claims at the end of the policy, they then don't provide this.
Unfortunately, for those 2 reasons, i'd never recommend them to anyone, ever.

Unbelievably awful
Sorry but has to be said, the WORST insurer I have ever had to deal with. Customer service, awful. Attitude awful. Understanding and dealing with issues, abysmal. Comprehension of their own system- awful. Words fail me and I can’t wait for my daughter to get this first year out of the way so we can get away from MyFirst.
Sub note: following the response to my post, MyFirst have been contacted repeatedly to deal with matters but have been rude, unhelpful and dismissive - I cannot see that contacting them again will affect any alternative outcome. They can, I am sure, trace the policy in question by name where a lengthy documented exchange can be viewed.

Our call handler was lovely and very helpful.
Far stricter than described
I chose MyFirst based on what I was told over the phone, specifically that minor or occasional speeding would not significantly affect my score. In reality, this has not been the case.
The black box system is far more sensitive than explained, flagging even very small amounts over the speed limit and penalising situations where you are safely and smoothly slowing into lower speed zones. This was not made clear when I took out the policy.
Rather than encouraging safe and natural driving, the system pushes you towards a very rigid and unnatural style, which has made driving more stressful. I now find myself overthinking decisions that would normally be straightforward.
Had this been properly explained at the start, I would have made a different decision. The issue is not the idea of a black box, but the lack of transparency around how strict it actually is.
