If I could give zero stars I would. Been with them for 2 months and regret moving. I mislaid my bank card and my phone screen died so called them to have money transferred to my spare bank account. Told me it would take till 5pm the next day to send it!! It's 2025 and they are the only bank who cannot do external transfers unless it's an emergency and then it takes over 24 hours!! Absolute joke

Nationwide nearly doubles home insurance
Nationwide sent us the usual email to prompt us to renew our home and contents insurance. They quote £460, up £202 from last year's £258!!! Same terrace house we lived in for 20 years, some old worn furniture and other contents, never made a claim.
Another annoyance for the last 3 such renewal emails (including another property) is that the new suggested price does not show properly in Outlook, which I use for emails. You either have to click "online version" of which the link does not always work, or copy-paste the icon into another programme. Perhaps not showing the new price is on purpuse? The email also never tells you that you have another 6 weeks before the old insurance experies, probably hoping you would renew right now which means you throw away about 10% = £26 of your previous years' insurance.

I have been a customer of nationwide for years. This years renewal is £1,228. Last year it was £806, the year before it was £653. Policy cancelled.
How things were, and should be.
Went to nationwide in Harlow town centre and was seen by Tess, fantastic outcome, sorted all my problems and I left feeling as light as a feather. Can't thank her enough. Real old fashioned service. I feel quite nostalgic.
Emergency cover home insurance
Unfortunately had to use the emergency cover on my home insurance, water leak between the bedroom and hall . The level of service I received was abysmal expected us to go 5 days without water while we waited for a trace team to come even though the leak was plainly obvious, then wait a further 2 or 3 days for a repair !! Ridiculous timescale and useless customer service.

Shocking attempt at 78% INCREASE in yearly premium on home insurance. NO CLAIMS whatsoever! Have been with this company for 3 years but they won't get another chance. Loads of ridiculous excuses for dramatic increase BUT strangely no mention of greed and profit.

House insurance premium increase from £405 to £660. Phoned to enquire why. No claims, nothing else changed. Got told increase due to claims in flooding and builders increase in prices. No flooding in my area. Why should it affect me. Got a new quote on line. Over £100 cheaper. Disgraceful way to treat loyal Customers.
Ridiculous increase in home Insurance premium
We received our home insurance renewal and it had gone up from £332 to £657!!!! Basically double the price of last year, despite having no claims and being a loyal customer of 16 years. We have now moved yo another company ( which we didn't want to do) as I've got even better cover than I had with Nationwide at the same price as last year. When I phoned to cancel my direct debit with Nationwide, a very nice representative even said " may I ask the reason for cancelling although j probably know the answer"!!. This just shows how many people are understandably cancelling their policies with Nationwide due to this unacceptable price increase. I hope Nationwide learns from this and look to win it's loyal customers back .

I contacted Nationwide about a customer of theirs that scraped my car. Trysha Russell says she is denying the claim because 1. Her customer says he didn't do it 🙄 and he had no damage, which sometimes they don't. BUT NOW SENDS ME A LETTER STATING I WAS 50%+ AT FAULT.......RESEARCHING THIS, NATIONWIDE CAN BE SUED FOR THIS 🙂🙂

I am a 68 year old pensioner and had a real bad experience,coming to the end of my interest only mortgage they will not extend it or even give me another short term deal to have time to get my house sold,my house would have been mine but 14 yrs ago I had to change to an interest only mortgage as my wife died and couldn't really afford my repayment mortgage,really they are not a people firm do not worry about your circumstances.

Appalling. CEO whom I have emailed direct several times following her officers inability to comply with written and oral instructions not to send any post to a shared letter box. she has failed to respond once. Speaks volumes of the utter contempt shown to a disabled customer . No explanation has been made by the Nationwide cannot simply press a button to stop post. No explanation has been given who has access or who has my data. Clear breach of Numerous Acts to include GDR and Data Protection. The rudeness and ineptitude of the staff has no bounds . Even the branch staff are horrified by the arrogance with a could not care less attitude of the staff. Closing my account. I would not even give the executive staff one point. Minus point.I would NOT recommend the Nationwide at any level.

My experience with Scottsdale Insurance has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I filed a legitimate claim for compensation after suffering a wrongful arrest due to the tortious acts of Sixt Rental Car Company, Scottsdale’s insured. Instead of addressing my claim fairly, Scottsdale denied it based on an irrelevant exclusion—‘breach of contract.’ This exclusion had nothing to do with my case, which involved serious issues like defamation, false imprisonment, and malicious prosecution, all of which should have been covered under the policy.
Despite their obligation to act in good faith, Scottsdale ignored the clear merits of my case and unfairly denied coverage. Their handling of my claim was negligent and demonstrated a lack of consideration for the damages I have suffered. This bad faith denial has only prolonged my financial hardship and emotional distress.
I would caution anyone dealing with Scottsdale to be aware of their tactics. It seems they prioritize denying claims over properly evaluating the harm their policyholders have caused. If you are seeking an insurance company that will truly stand by you when you need it most, Scottsdale is not the one.
