Awful experience

Awful experience. Booked the EPC online and paid £79, received a confirmation e mail that is where things went downhill. Next day I received no call from Nationwide EPC as promised to book an appointment. At 4pm after speaking to 3 different people, 2 failed return calls, being accused of having not ordered one or paid, I eventually got an appointment for 10am next morning. I got 2 e mails confirming 2 different assessors names would be attending🤷‍♂️. Next morning nobody came at 10am. Another 2 phone calls later someone arrived at 11.40am. No word of apology for being late or for the inconvenience and stress called. The actual assessment was somewhat rushed and amateurish, something I’m sure I could have done myself given a ticklish. Overall comment, the admin processes and Customer Service levels from Nationwide APC is appalling and needs looking at.

I have a couple of issues with the…

I have a couple of issues with the report, I have brought them to the attention of the inspector, but still not corrected. It is quite apparent the inspector has got it wrong!

The whole process went seemingly well with an easy online process that resulted in a convenient appointment.
The inspection was carried out in a professional manner with sufficient feedback to keep me informed & of any possible improvements that could be made.

It was a very easy process

It was a very easy process, however once I had paid I heard nothing for a few days and had to call, I was on hold for about 20 mins but once I got through to the lovely girl she sorted my query out and I was contacted almost immediately and the EPC was carried out within the next few days

It’s been over 2 weeks still have not had the EPC done

I had real problems with them my house is for sale, I needed the EPC done as I paid online and received a email stating thanks for your order. I then had no reply from them to make an appointment for the EPC. I phoned them they said that the engineer would contact me within 24 hrs nobody contacted me I then contacted them again they stated someone would contact me again nothing then I emailed there customer services I received a message after a week asking for my postcode or order number. I urgently need to carry out the EPC not happy at all if someone from there company sees this message my order number is 2567609. I not happy at all :-( it’s giving me a lot of grief I need to forward the EPC certificate to my solicitor. Regards Mohan

Extremely Poor Service and Broken Promises — Avoid If You Need an EPC Quickly

Nationwide EPC is a very poor agent—if their operation can even be described as a professional agency.

I contacted them to arrange an EPC and was clearly promised that the certificate would be issued within 48 hours if I placed the order with them. I ordered and paid on 19th February, but shortly afterwards the engineer informed me that he was too busy and could not carry out the home visit until 6th March—already far from the promised 48-hour turnaround.

Worse still, the engineer completely missed the 6th March appointment, leaving me waiting at home for an entire morning with no notice or apology. The visit had to be rebooked for 10th March. Although the engineer eventually attended and completed the assessment, the delays did not end there.

After the assessment, I was told that the engineer’s EPC login system was not working, meaning the certificate could not be issued. I then had to wait until 23rd March—over one month after making payment—to finally receive an EPC that was originally promised within 48 hours.

This level of service is unacceptable. The company appears to have little control over their engineers and simply acts as a middleman assigning work to low-quality assessors without proper coordination or accountability.

Avoid this company if you value your time or need a reliable and timely EPC service.

Between 19 February and 23 March, I contacted NationalEPC at least 10 times by phone and email regarding my order. During this entire period, not once was my issue properly addressed. Each time, I was simply told that "it will be issued soon," yet no clear explanation, timeline, or meaningful action was provided.
I find your public apology disappointing. Despite having my contact details, you did not attempt to contact me directly to resolve the issue. Instead, you posted a generic response here, which gives the impression of a public relations exercise rather than genuine customer care.
It is also worth noting that I had to provide my personal details and order confirmation to Trustpilot after NationalEPC challenged the authenticity of my original review, which added further frustration to an already poor experience.
My review — and this reply — are intended to warn potential customers about the level of service I experienced. You had numerous opportunities over several weeks to resolve this matter, yet those opportunities were missed.
A generic public apology does not resolve the problem and, in my view, adds insult to injury. What customers need is timely action, clear communication, and accountability — none of which I experienced in this case.
