Quick delivery
Quick delivery, speedy service. No complaints about the company. Pity that the tri mag mount magnets were so poor. Disposed of the thing after a week, not safe on vehicle even with a simple hamstick. Tried the mount on 4 different vehicles but the poor adhesion was just the same. Nevada please take note and try yourself.

Returned a Diamond power supply which stopped working. Unit was 2weeks older than 1 year. Returned unit. I was advised it had a 2year guarantee and would be dealt with free of charge. A few weeks later I was advised they are recinding 2year guarantee. Now left with a failed unit almost new which I had hardly used.
Extremely disappointed with there attitude.
I also asked senior management to review case.
Completely ignored.

I am a new customer to Nevada Radio.
I am a new Nevada Radio customer,
I order a Sharman X200 2m/70cm base antenna on there web page. I did experience a problem when ordering on line so I rang them, this was my first encounter with them in person, they could not have been more helpful. The problem was with me not them all a long! With that said I progressed with my order and it was with me in two days.
On installing my new antenna it was found that the SWR was outside its stated limits. On the phone same day to Nevada and was put on to their Tec guy Mr Alex. He told me he would look in to it and get back to me. This he did via email, stating that he had sent me a replacement. The replacement arrived the next day, and when fitted, the SWR difference was night and day. I rang them back and thanked Mr Alex and his team for the exceptional service I had received.
Oh and don’t be put off by the price or branding of the Sharman X200 2m/70cm (I just had one that missed QC) its an excellent well made and good preforming antenna. I can now hit GB3VM in Shropshire with just 5w from my location within south Bristol.
My experience has been nothing more then excellent thanks to the Nevada team and of course, Mr Alex :-)

Non existent after sales
They are keen to sell you a radio but are not interested in after sales. I asked to speak to someone as I wanted to know something about setting my radio up. I was told that someone would phone me back. 4 days later no one has bothered.

A happy Nevada Radio customer!
I have been a Nevada Radio customer for slightly less than 16 years. They have always sent my order within one or two days of me placing my order. Obviously when my orders were placed on the weekend or late afternoon they would not be able to process them until the next business day.
Once I called Nevada Radio about purchasing a digital scanner. I was told that on some of the more expensive digital scanners costing in excess of £700 had features that would mostly work in the USA. The chap I spoke to mentioned something about decoding methods for example that are either rarely used or unused in the UK. He told me that I could pick up a lot of broadcasts on an inexpensive analogue scanner. That's honesty!
The scanner hobby is going digital but the Nevada Radio rep. put my interests before making a sale. I highly recommend this company.

ROYAL MAIL’S DIABOLICAL SERVICE.
UPDATE TO PREVIOUS POSTINGS. JULY 22ND.
The initial package posted my Nevada in Hampshire on July 6th was finally delivered to me today in the East Riding of Yorkshire…only after I had been forced to pay a £1.50 fine because it had supposedly carried insufficient postage.
I weighed the envelope in question and, according to two separate, extremely accurate scales, it came in below the maximum weight stipulated by Royal Mail.
So, apologies to Nevada for my initial critique when, thanks to our postal “service”, I wrongly blamed the company for not “delivering the goods”.
Royal Mail, as you’ll see from my original review, has now cost me more than £8 in an unjustifiable postal penalty and an unnecessary internet purchase.
Post early for Christmas, eh!
I’d better buy my presents while I’m at it…
—————————————————————————
UPDATE TO CRITICAL REVIEW POSTED BELOW
The antenna adapter arrived early this afternoon, July 15th, and fits my Yaesu FT65E perfectly.
I hated writing the initial critique, especially when the few remaining UK amateur radio dealerships must be struggling enormously to stay in business, let alone return a healthy profit.
My negative review of Nevada was by no means intended as a general slur - indeed, I praised Helen for her previous efforts - but, hopefully, it merely pointed out that, on this occasion, the shopping experience was not of the standard that I’d expected from a retailer with whom I had dealt with very satisfactorily on countless previous occasions.
I understand that Nevada staff were unhappy to read my criticism, the more so when Helen informed me that she had personally posted the item more than a week ago. The fact that it didn’t arrive at my home is a mystery which, I imagine, will remain “just one of those things”.
That aside, the replacement item is now “fitted and working” and, will, I trust, be the subject of no more discussion either here or elsewhere.
————————————————————————-
I suppose it’s my fault, as a licensed radio amateur since the 1980s (callsign G0EAT), to expect that “our” retailers would always treat their customers in a special way - i.e. as friends and fellow “hams” instead of merely as a source of income.
It pains me to state, however, that that hard-earned reputation cannot always be relied upon as an indication that the first-class service to which we’ve become accustomed will always “deliver the goods”, as it were…
Having recently bought a new Yaesu FT65E VHF/UHF handheld transceiver from Nevada (and at a very competitive price, it should be stated; thanks Helen - your gesture is very much appreciated), I decided to follow up that purchase with another order towards the end of June: for a better aerial.
My online payment was sanctioned, only for me to be told a day later that, although the item was now out of stock, I could buy a slightly more expensive substitute for the original price.
The antenna duly arrived, but with an incorrect fitting for the transceiver.
I sent an e-mail to Nevada asking if it could send me an adapter and, when that message was ignored, I wrote again three days later with a reminder.
“I’m sending you a gender adaptor” was the response 24 hours later…and, now six days since then, I’m still waiting for the post.
Yes, I know the delay is but a trivial matter in the overall scheme of things - Ukraine, global warming, the cost-of-living crisis and England’s nerve-jangling efforts in The Ashes at Headingley(!) - but such minor frustrations are what frequently separate the very best in retail from those lagging behind.
“The customer is always right”, it seems, no longer holds true.
Tired of waiting for the missing component to arrive, I’ve had little choice but to order one from another online supplier in the hope that my new aerial can be used at last.
I hadn’t intended spending £6.99 to obtain this tiny item elsewhere, but patience and virtue were no longer seeing eye to eye.
Now, where’s that delivery driver got to?

An absolute farce.
An absolute farce.
I bought a second hand Icom 7600 from Nevada for £1200 several months ago. The radio arrived and upon opening I discovered it had been damaged in transit. The VFO knob had come adrift along with two of the rubber feet on the bottom and side of the radio. There was also clear damage to both boxes. On testing the radio I discovered there was a lot of play in the vfo encoder, the vox feature was not working and a push button conformation beep was not working. I contacted Nevada and they arranged collection for repair. After a week I emailed them enquiring about the radio only to be told my 7610! had arrived and no faults could be found and the radio was totally serviceable. I explained that my radio was an Icom 7600 with visible faults. Silence for a week. After sending another email I was then told my 7600 was not financially viable to repair and a refund was to be made. In the mean time I spotted my 7600 back on their website for sale! After phoning I was told there was some confusion and the radio was taken down for sale. Two weeks past with no sign of a refund and once again I emailed asking about my refund only to be told (oh We have been trying to contact you!) and that my radio had been partially repaired. I certainty did not receive any emails, phone calls or post so maybe they tried 40 meters but since I didn't have a radio I couldn't receive any communications. They advised the radio was repaired apart from the vfo play which apparently is a common fault however there is a easy mod you can do to fix the problem so I agreed to take the radio back. I then received an email confirming once the radio had been returned to them as they had outsourced it for repair they would make arrangements for its return to me. Nine days later.. Nothing.. so once again I enquired after my radio only to be told that they were under the impression I didn't want the radio back and that the refund process had started!
Once again I explained I was happy to take the radio and had already noticed it back on their website for sale again without any mention of faults!! This total process from start to finish has taken over 7 weeks between myself, the Nevada receptionist, Mr Stephen Bunting and Mr Glyn Dodwell. It is my opinion that non of the above nevada staff communicate between each other to try and resolve any after sales issues. I was left without a radio for this time and confused as to weather I was to receive my radio or a refund. Is it too much to ask these days for some customer satisfaction and a clear path of communication so that the customer knows what's going on.? I will never deal with Nevada again and now I know why its called amateur radio when we have an amateur company such as Nevada failing heavily with after sales...
PS.. The faulty 7600 is still on their website for sale with out any mention of any underlying issues.. Buyer beware.
I have just read Nevada response. The only time they spoke or emailed me is after I contacted them asking for an update...
Again they must have been trying to contact someone else.. A joke of a place...
