Office chair doesn’t Work

Website is “misleading” with incorrect lead times. They blame Covid worker shortages BUT you can skip the line if you pay more… I placed my order Jan 2nd and waited, and waited until Jan 25th - I gave up and canceled my order. After canceling my order they claimed that I now needed to wait 14 days for my reimbursement on something they never shipped. I waited the 14 days and started emailing them (7 times) with no answer. I had to file a claim with my CC company. OCAW never pick up the phone either. Please be careful dealing with the scammers…

Great chair, great price, great warranty!

I received my Herman Miller Aeron C and it is great! Looks brand new and every option is working perfectly! This is our second purchase, and third chair over the past 4 years. While it does take a few weeks to receive the chair, it's important to realize that they are the only seller of used Herman Miller chairs that offer the 12 year Herman Miller Warranty,... so their chairs are in very high demand. I wrote to them several times asking about my chair and always received a reply usually within minutes, reiterating the length of time it takes and offering me to continue to wait for my chair, or refund if I wanted to, or pay the expedited fee. Of course, I did not want to refund... so I had to either continue to wait or pay the expedited fee. Yes, there is an option to pay an expedited fee which would allow your order to be pulled ahead of others in the long queue... and you would receive your chair much faster. Is this reasonable.. yes, I think it is. They have a very organized system, so to have your order pulled out of the sequence and sent ahead of others who paid before you did, is an additional process for them.
Chair purchased January 22, 2023, chair received February 25,2023.
The chair is great, the wait is long... ( can be several weeks) but in the end, it is a fantastic opportunity to own a genuine Herman Miller Aeron at a much more affordable price. Great chair, great price, great warranty!

Our order was cancelled before shipment…

Our order was cancelled before shipment three months ago. We have been told our refund has been issued and would be received in 7-14 calendar days. It was not. Suddenly, customer service quits responding via telephone, or email. We will begin working with a company to recover our unreturned finances. Seeing from other reviews that this is a widespread and known behavior of Office Chair, shame on us for not checking in advance that they are not honest and do not have integrity.

It is a fraud

to be brief, I purchase the chair cost me around $700. they never even try to ship it out.
I email them three times, and every time they just told you. it is gonna take 5-14 days.
But I never received it.
I place the order and paid on November 23, 2022. Today is February 04, 2023, and tracking shows they have not to shipped it, just the "label created"

Just requested a refund, at the same time, i will dispute it with my credit card company.

This is obviously and clearly a scam company. I am surprised some people even get bad chairs as i think they are simply an online grift where they get to float the money for a couple of months before returning it after threat of legal action.

Unbelievably bad

Unbelievably bad.
Waited 2 months for an update on my order of 1 chair.
When I inquired about it, they said their warehouse manager would expedite my order.
3 weeks later, no email, no update, no nuthin'.
Luckily, I had paid for the chair via credit card, so I went through the process of getting a refund of my $989 through them.
This brought an onslaught of nasty emails from this scam company accusing me of "threatening" them with a chargeback.
Then, 3 and a half months after my order, they refunded my money.
Don't deal with them. Just. Don't.

ZERO STARS

Still no refund from Office Chair at Work. I’ve attempted to get my $949 back for over a month now.

THESE PEOPLE ARE A SCAM. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE. “Evelyn” is a liar and will not return your money, answer a phone, or be honest under any circumstances.

It’s not hard to return money to a customer who has returned your substandard product. I’ve waited 5 weeks and you’ve issued checks that haven’t cleared.

ZERO STARS. SCAM ALERT.

Stay Away From Office Chair at Work

I bought an Aeron C chair from OCW in Nov 2018. The chair arrived in a few weeks and all seemed well. Cut to December 2022 ... the chair had begun "sinking". Local dealer asked for the FO number to repair the chair under warranty. OCW site notes a full "12-year warranty". The FO number should be on a sticker affixed to the underside of the seat pan on ALL legit Aeron chairs. That sticker is missing on my chair. I called Office Chair at Work customer support to get the FO number. Several calls and several emails later and still no response. This company has HORRIBLE customer support .... actually, they have NO customer support. I'm having the local dealer repair it ... though they won't be able to do the work under warranty because OCW hasn't supplied the nec. info. Stay away from this company! They are selling either old or knock-off chairs and once they have your money, you'll never hear from them again.

*** Update

The response from Office Chair at Work below is complete and utter BS. They never called me back, never responded to my emails and the sticker with the FO number is NOT affixed to the underside of the seat pan. These guys are selling older models as new. Don't bother reading the reviews on their site. Look at their scores on the Better Business Bureau site ... 2 stars out of 5 and an overall rating of "F". My order was #6191. If they send me the FO number for my chair ... I'll let you all know.

***UPDATE

Still no word from Office Chair at Work. The local authorized dealer/repair center did some digging and found my chair was built in 2005. It was sold as "new" in 2018 with a 12-year warranty. Clearly an older chair was sold as new. I'll be reporting OCAW to the local New Jersey BBB.

Fraud company stole my $800

To other victims of this company…post complaints to city of elizabeth,nj, better business bureau. Stay away! Horrible fraud of a company. After multiple shipping delays I canceled my order and was told i would receive a full refund. After the requisite 2 weeks no refund. Then got an email from pay pal saying my refund was cancelled. I have reached out to office chair at work multiple times via email and phone with no response.

Horrible Experience - Office Chair At Works

I should have read the reviews before making the purchase of the Aeron chair from Office Works. Similar to the other complaints, I've yet to receive the chair after 14-business days. Per the receipt, I was supposed to have received the chair within 5-14 business days. They failed to keep their promise. I've been communicating with Evelyn. She was very prompt and friendly. I just wrote to Evelyn just now to request that they cancel the order since it has yet to be shipped. I will be looking for my credit. There are other companies that provide better service.

1/5/23: Another update since my last review of Office chair. I cancelled the order on 12/18 for failure to deliver the chair as promised. Now they want an additional "7-14" BUSINESS DAYS TO ISSUE THE REFUND. It's now 13- Business Days and I'm still waiting on my refund. Amazon refunds within "48" hours

1/11/23: The refund has yet to be issued after multiple promises. This company is NOT to be trusted. I disputed the charge with VISA today and they will be sending this company my dispute. What company hopes to do business with this kind of practice?

This company uses misleading business…

This company uses misleading business practices to gouge shoppers. I ordered an Aeron chair from them more than three weeks ago. The ship time on the order was 5-14 business days. On the 15th day, I had heard nothing back and reached out. They said the order was still processing, and it could take 30 days to be shipped. I send the order to them saying they committed to 5-14 days and they replied that there are supply chain issues. But here is the kicker - they offered a quick ship for an additional $149. I guess the supply chain issues are not hitting their expedited shipping the same way. They refused to give me a date hen my order would finish "processing" and continued to offer the expedited shipping to get me the product in two days. I cancelled my order and I am hopeful I will be able tog et a refund. Stay away form this company. There are lots of places to get the Aeron chairs.

Dishonest, unlawful, gamble

Don't even try with the response claiming I'm not a customer. If you want to buy a chair from these people, it's your money, and it's a gamble. Look how many negative reviews are out there. They push you to cusrev.com... I can't even get in there and I'm a paying customer. Read the terms and conditions carefully. They will use them to weasel out of every option possible.

I purchased my Steelcase Leap chair back in October of 2021. I've had this chair at work for years and know it very well. When it was shipped to me, the package was destroyed and the chair broken. Their T&Cs state that I should "refuse the shipment," which I would have done, except they did not require a signature so the chair was dropped off when I wasn't home. When I contacted them, they made me submit a claim with Fedex; to which, if you've ever submitted a claim, the store needs to submit and/or verify the claim; you can't do it as the consumer. After much back and forth, I finally got Evelyn Kinsley (Seemingly the only person who works there) to send me a replacement. They did not send me a new seat, they sent me a stripped down part of just the exact piece that was broken. Good luck to any normal person finding the specialized driver bits and/or instructions on how to strip this chair down. Steelcase doesn't even consider it repairable at that point. Seeing as I was potentially unhappy, I wasn't offered the ability to leave a review at cusrev.com.

It's now one year later. I'm having an issue with the recline feature. The chair sticks and doesn't recline or reset cleanly and gets stuck. I've tried to grease the chair multiple times and contacted Steelcase directly. I sent Steelcase a description of my problem and a video of my problem. Steelcase said the chair is defective and that it needs to be replaced under warranty, however, I would have to go back to where I bought it (I’ll get to this shortly). I contacted Evelyn, provided her all of this information, and asked if she could help with a warranty claim. I was told that a warranty claim was already submitted. When I inquired as to what claim (since I had not submitted any warranty claim), she stopped talking to me; obviously because it was a bold face lie, and/or there was a claim under my name that is fraudulent. Now, she may get on here and respond, stating that the warranty claim was the damaged shipment, but it is very clear in their T&Cs that "warranty does not cover damaged caused by a carrier or transportation of the product". Indeed, damage from the carrier would be covered by shipping insurance. Since the chair had insurance, and Fedex refunded them the cost of the chair, and I didn't get a full replacement, that's insurance fraud. Now they're not honoring their warranty, which is dishonest and violates their Terms and Conditions.

I contacted Steelcase and they also note that OfficeChairAtoWork sells chairs on the "Gray Market" and provide inferior products that Steelcase can not verify and/or support. I’ve now tried to contact OfficeChairAtWork five times via email and left a voice mail over a 3.5 week duration. I’ve had no responses. I get the automated response that they received my email, but they will not respond to me. The last email I sent verified that they admit to guilt for failing to honor their warranty and providing false and fraudulent advertising as it pertains to their warranty.

If you want to take a gamble and get a chair here, go ahead. But be forewarned… You don’t get this much negative publicity if you have good customer service and good products. The chair is great, if you can’t afford to get it directly from the manufacture, then maybe look for a different chair.

Rude and Unprofessional Even Before the Sale is Made!

They are rude and unprofessional! Their statement "We treat every customer as our best customer" is absolutely false. I wanted to purchase conference room chairs that would total several thousand dollars, but asked if I could talk by phone over details instead of back and forth emails. I got an email back from their "Customer Support Team" (Evelyn Kinsley) saying "we are too busy to CHAT on the phone." When I said that was poor customer service, they emailed again to say they "pity the competition who will have to work with me." Nice. They are correct in their reply that we did not become customers after the email exchange. However, I am not a competitor. I just wanted to purchase chairs.

This company is a complete scam

This company is a complete scam. They are not licensed dealers for any of the brands they sell. The products come without manufacturers labels, so you can't even turn to the manufacturer or another dealer for assistance when they refuse to replace or repair a warrantied product. I don't even know if the chairs we purchased are authentic Herman Millers or a knockoff, like the replacement part they keep trying to get me to buy off of Amazon! Their customer service is also insanely rude.

Fraudulent Company! Never received refund after I returned the chair

I ordered a chair from this company that arrived in terrible condition.
Scratches, smelled like mold, and I brought it to the company's
attention. I was told I could return the chair for a refund. I returned the
chair shortly thereafter and requested the refund. They indicated they
couldnt refund my credit card and would need to mail a check. I
pushed back but ultimately agreed as they offered no other
alternative. I waited for the check to arrive and it didn't. I wrote them
asking where the check was and they said to wait longer. 3 weeks
went by with no check. I emailed them again and they indicated they
would send another check. They never provided proof of mailing the
check nor did I EVER receive the check. It has now been 8 months
since I purchased and returned the chair and have yet to receive
payment. I write them emails to each of their publicly listed emails and
they no longer respond to my inquiries. This is the least professional
company I have EVER worked with. They should be shut down.

If only I could have selected 0 stars!

If you like broken chairs then this is the place for you. Sent us a "refurbished" ten your old broken chair. We had to take a video and jump through hoops to get them to acknowledge it was broken. After they admitted it was broken, they said they would send us the part to fix it with a video on how to do it. When I told them I didn't feel I could fix the chair they insulted me and said even a child could fix it. They finally agreed to take it back and refund the money. They shipped the chair back, but we never received a refund. Capital One was ZERO help. They wanted me to basically get a second opinion. Which I could not because I no longer had the chair. Seriously expensive nightmare! Buyer Beware! I rarely leave reviews, but I made an exception for this company. Also, if you notice, the company has great reviews on its website, but no place to actually leave a review. They do not understand that they can refund the money if the chargeback doesn’t go through. Our credit card company said to ask the company to refund the money after the charge back did not go through. They lied and said they couldn’t because a chargeback was filed. The chargeback did not go through so they basically have the chair and our $400.

Bait. Switch. = Office Chair at Work

One of the worst experiences for online shopping. I ordered a new chair and received a used chair with broken parts. And that was after waiting 45 days for them to “process” my order.

I’m still waiting for the replacement parts that included a chair lift cylinder, and arm rests. The product when shipped had no protection and had the chair legs poking through the box. No quantity control here.

If you are reading this before you make a purchase, expect a similar experience. Read the fine print. Then if you do order, your expectations will be inline with what you will receive in terms of used product that most likely will need parts without return options.

Legitimate brand name chairs…

I found this company to have excellent customer service. Very responsive. They are some sort of aggregator and have access to new or returned but new parts and send you a legitimate brand name chair for less than retail. If your unhappy with anything they are willing to work with you to come to a happy conclusion.

Better Business Bureau Rates them an "F"

Read the reviews here an on other sites. The Better Business Bureau rates Office Chair at Work an "F".

I ordered a chair and realized it would not be the right one based upon an ergonomics consult. I requested it be canceled within an hour of ordering and they did not accommodate my request. My card was charged right away and the chair didn't leave their warehouse for a full week later.

Once they chair arrived, I immediately sent it back. I had to pay $120 to send it back via FedEx (even though their webpage states "free returns" right at the top). When I asked about the free return they pointed me to some webpage with a bunch of disclaimers and terms about what is and is not covered by free returns.

Once I sent the chair back they said it would take up to 10 days to process my refund once it is received. That never happened. I continually followed up for weeks after the chair was received to request my refund. They say they processed but it never came through. I finally had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get the refund. This was at the direct suggestion of their customer service person. Four months later I finally have my money back from the original purchase but am still out $120 for the return shipping cost.
