Do yourself a favor - not buy from this seller

Do not buy from this seller! They are fraudulent and dishonest. The chairs are refurbished and they will not provide a full refund if you are dissatisfied with your purchase. Instead they will keep 35% as a re-stock fee.

Very poor and passive aggressive customer service. Don’t let them ruin your day. Stay away.

(The sad thing is that I intended to purchase 5 more office chairs from them).

Horrible experience with this company

Horrible experience with this company! Awful customer service. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

First, the chair took over two months to be delivered when it was guaranteed delivery within two-weeks. After MANY emails to customer service they finally expedited the shipping.

After a month of having this chair it is already falling apart! The fabric is coming out and staples are falling all over.
When I emailed customer service about the issue they told me to "buy a stapler for cheap at the store and staple it back together". She also told me "Your chair was originally $1900 and you got for $400, what did you expect".

I've never been so disappointed with such an expensive purchase. I WILL NEVER buy from them again and make sure that they never get anyone's business.

Revised review after everything is said and done...

I'm revising my (bad) review of OfficeChairs@Work. Originally, I was upset that the chair was refurbished but that was my oversight. Also, I ordered a headrest which didn't match my chair. Again, my fault. They paid for the return of the headrest and promptly refunded the full amount. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the chair I received and the price paid. I'm considering ordering another chair for my wife.

Great customer service

Great customer service! They were always prompt and quick to respond. Our chairs took a while to arrive around 1.5 months, but when they came, they were in good condition even though they were used. We ended up changing our mind and returning them. We let them know right away and packed it in the original box. The company covered the shipping and gave us a full refund. This is an honest review from a paying customer and I wanted to let others know about our experience because I saw the other low reviews. I want others to know this company is not a scam. The chair is used so it’s not perfect, but does come in good condition. I would order from them again.

The only thing I would recommend to the company is to use a vinyl (faux leather) that doesn’t have as strong of a smell and to list that the leather is faux leather, not real leather on their website. Overall thank you Office Chair at Work for a good experience and for your great and responsive customer service!

My chair arrived quickly and well…

My chair arrived quickly and well packed. I only needed to attach the back to the seat with a couple of bolts and I was ready to go. I must say, I’m incredibly pleased with the quality of the refurbished chair. I can’t tell the difference from new. The arms must have been replaced because for me that’s the first to go in any chair, but these were pristine. Not a scratch or mar to be found. I was also concern the mesh of the seat might be worn but either no one ever sat in this chair or they replaced that too.

Fraudulent Seller & Dodgy Customer Service

I placed an order and subsequently asked for a refund before it was ever shipped - but a shipping label was created. Keep that in mind. It's important later.

They said they would go ahead and process the refund if the chair hadn't shipped. I said great, thanks! Very prompt customer service response.

I wait...no refund. I start to get nervous and decide to file a dispute with my credit card holder. The credit card company issues me a temporary refund but then RE-BILLS me $400 and says the company provided shipping information to dispute my claim.

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING.

They provided my credit card company with this shipping label as proof but clearly, nothing ever got delivered. So not only did they charge me $400, they never sent me any goods. I have explained this situation to their customer service team and their only response was to reach out to my credit card company. Them providing me with a refund would be so much easier but instead, they force honest consumers to go through all these hoops just so they can cheat them out of money.

I'm left with no other option than to continue reaching out to their customer service, posting here hoping for a reply, re-opening the dispute with my credit card company, and I'm looking into filing claims elsewhere too to see what my options are if none of the above works out.

What hurts the most is that I'm sure their business is flourishing as a result of the WFH Covid Pandemic, and yet they still feel the need to cheat $400 out of one individual for the sake of the bottom line. I'm sure a business can afford to give a $400 refund for a good THEY NEVER DELIVERED but as a person trying to survive this epidemic, I cannot afford to be out $400. I'm very hurt by this whole episode and have never felt more cheated by an online vendor.

No zero star option

No zero star option? My chair took just under a month to receive. A month! To be fair, they do say 14 business days to process. So that’s almost 3 weeks to put a chair in a box and slap a label on it. 🤷‍♂️ That aside, I’d have been happy had I received what I ordered. For a chair with the “titanium base” that was obviously metal in pictures they sent black plastic that had been shoddily painted. The fabric color was wrong too. The “customer care team” literally said “LOL, We’re not sending you anything” when I asked them to send the correct chair. Its little unbelievable. Crazy part is I don’t dare send this
wrong chair back. Read their policies. They have a 35% restocking fee to impose when they want and and other users have said they will not refund part of your purchase because of credit card fees, etc. So this could potentially cost me over a hundred dollars for doing nothing wrong, for returning something I didn’t order. So I’m keeping this inferior chair that I didn’t want that cost me almost $350. Please learn from my mistakes. Shop elsewhere. I know you’re reading these reviews officechair@work. Do the right thing; 1) Admit you sent the wrong chair and 2) Promise you’ll send the correct chair if I reorder. I won’t hold my breath.

Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Worst company I have ever dealt with.

4 month process to correct their errors.
4 credit card disputes (for 1 chair).

The sent a refurbished chair when they promised new.
They billed my credit card multiple times without authorization.

If you do business with them, you will regret it.

BAD BAD BAD.

I saw their response. This company offered a return, but wanted a 15-20% restocking fee to return the used and discontinued chair they sold as new. To be clear, I was advised by the credit card company to NOT send the chair back until they responded to the credit card dispute.
At the end of the day, all 4 charges were ruled in my favor by the credit card company. This took over 4 months to sort through and more than 4 hours of combined time to stay on top of. These guys prey on people that are not willing to invest the time to hold them accountable for their terrible business practices.
Not once was I able to reach them on the phone. It was the worst purchase I have ever made even though I ended up getting all of my money back (via multiple credit card disputes).

It took 4 months for a refund because the buyer refused to return the item and wanted the item free of charge. The buyer only returned the item after their financial institution forced the return for refund.

Wish I had read the other reviews before purchasing

I purchased a Steelcase Leap Chair from Office Chair at Home. Nowhere on the chair description on the website does it say "refurbished." That's why I was surprised when it arrived dirty (mud caked on the wheels and hairs wrapped around the base). It didn't have instructions for assembly. I spent several hours on unclear videos. I attempted to assemble it. One arm rest is in, but it is in a weird unmovable position. If my keyboard were above my head, it would be fine. The other moveable parts don't work. The chair leans forward, but the back recline dial (with supposedly 5 positions) doesn't work. The seat keeps slipping forward. Now my floor is filthy. My hands are covered with oil, and I am stuck a one crazy-armed chair that I fall out of. I can't unassemble it to return.

We quickly emailed you video instructions how to set up the chair. The left and right arms were installed on switched sides. This is the reason the arms do not adjust. You will need to disassemble the chair and arms and reassemble per the video instructions we provided you via email. Everything will then work perfectly. We also provided a free return should you decide you no longer need a chair.

What is the nightmare? You sent an email to us, we replied in less than 5 minutes, and offered to ship you the wheels and headrest with UPS.

Fraudulent seller

Fraudulent seller. Seatingmind and officechairatwork are sister websites. I purchased from both and my experience was terrible. I canceled my order from seatingmind (#51321) and they haven't process a refund yet. I paid through paypal and they claim the case is still open and I need to close it before the can refund. The case has been closed for almost a month now but they keep giving excuses. I called paypal today and paypal decided to reopen the case, and if they don't take action the case will be escalated for fraud. I placed another other at their sister website officechairat work(#34269). The chair arrived, but it did not even match the color combination of the ones showed in the picture. The chair was heavily worn, and not like-new / refurbished as they described. They accepted that ship it back, the chair was delivered to them on Sept 1, but two weeks later I still don't have a refund from them. I didn't realize they were the same business until now, that I am trying to get my money back from both!

Good experience

I had to say that after reading all the negative reviews on this website, I was very worried that I had ordered an office chair from Office Chair at Work. However, I ordered the chair on 8/28 and received it in a week and a half, which was a shorter time than I expected during these times. The chair was new and without any issues. The box had some damage, but the chair was well protected inside. Considering that I bought the chair at a big discount on this website, I would definitely use the site again.

Purchased Chair on August 19th - Nothing yet

Purchased Chair on August 19th. The UPS label was created right away - but tracking stopped at it.
Customer Service doesn't respond. Looks like scam and have to start getting money back from CC..
Once this review was up - the item shown shipped to be arrived in 2 days.

Received a Chair Today 09/10/2020. CANT BELIEVE THIS LEVEL OF SCAM. An old model, dirty and dusty used piece of garbage.

At first the customer claimed we never shipped. After publicizing the tracking number, the customer changed their story that the item was not in good condition. The customer is welcome to return for a refund as we have a return and refund policy for all customers for 30 days. DONT USE THIS COMPANY

Literally taking over double the amount of time to ship my chair that they advertised, they said 10-15 days shipping, it’s been over 30 and they still haven’t even sent my package to fed ex yet. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY. They do NOT hold up to what they say their going to, and on top of that, Kaytlyn Healy who is supposed to be a “customer service agent” is blatantly being rude and lying to me about shipping updates that were all incorrect. Please, do yourself a favor and DONT USE THIS COMPANY!

NEVER buy from them.

I wish I can give them ZERO stars. I purchased a chair and other accessories. I cancel the order within 2 hours and they promised me to refund the money within 5 -7 business days. I did not track my money with the impression that they are ethical but suddenly after a month, I got a box at my doorstep. I asked to take it back but they did not give my full money and charged 25% restocking fee and refused to give a full refund.

Update after their reply: "We fulfilled your order. When you asked to cancel, the order was already shipped."
I am going to give each detail with date/time to prove that they are lying

Do not use these con artists

I ordered a Humanscale chair from them and the chair came broken in two places (the arm and the headrest and filthy. They refused to fix it and their customer service was rude. Avoid this company at all costs.

Buyer Beware

Shipping was fine but the chair arrived without a part and a wrinkled leather seat. They would not exchange it for another chair and would only offer a 20% restocking fee to return. Total misrepresentation since they advertise themselves to have a 100% return guarantee & stand behind their "restored" products. Their customer service never returned my call and would only respond through email. Would not order from them. Wish I had read more reviews before ordering.

Exceedingly deceptive business practices

This business appears to purchase used chairs and resells them as "refurbished" regardless of condition. I ordered two chairs, one was fine, the other was broken. The company accepted the "free return" but their "money back guarantee" was not accurate as they insisted on charging a 20% restocking fee in spite of them sending damaged product. They tried to gaslight that the part of the chair that was broken was not a "listed feature"and therefore not damaged. I had to get my CC company to get a full refund as they use PayPal as an additional layer. Do not buy from this, or any other company listed at their address. All the 5-star reviews you see on this and other sites are from people who have agreed to post them for refunds. I should consider myself lucky they shipped chairs at all.

Fair warning to my business associates…

Fair warning to my business associates about Office Chair @ work. This is a company whose ethics are in the gutter. I placed an order, cancelled it within 2 minutes, got charged the full amount, it took them 2 months to refund the money and they charged me a 10% cancellation fee. For an order that was placed for literally 2 minutes.

This is next-level terrible business practices.
