Very frustrating experience. My mum tried to send money from Bulgaria to the UK and she’d been asked to provide her bank transfers and name and card details just in case of money laundering. She provided the details but I think asking about this kind of sensitive information should be illegal. Two days have passed and the transaction still awaiting approval. Don’t think she’ll be using their services again.

Using Opal Transfer for more than 10 years, I am happy with instant payments to EU now.

Never again – unreliable international money transfer!

I am extremely disappointed with Opaltrans. My father sent money from the UK to Germany today at 8:30 AM, which, according to their website, should arrive instantly. It is now 3:50 PM, and the money still hasn’t arrived.

When contacting customer service, he received conflicting information: first, the transaction was said to be at the “Credit Control” stage – something that has never happened before. Later, when calling again at 2:40 PM, he was told there were “technical difficulties.” Two different employees, two completely different explanations – and the money is still not received.

Opaltrans advertises on their website that money sent today will arrive the same day. This is clearly not true. I will be using other services in the future and cannot recommend Opaltrans at all. Extremely disappointing and unreliable.

I've had a terrible experience with Opal Transfer. My money was held for a ages, with little to no comunications about why. What should have been a straightforward transfer turned into a drawn-out process. I had to chase repeatedly, and every time I was left waiting without clear answers.
When you trust a company with your funds, you expect efficiency and transparancy, Opal failed on both counts. I will not be using their services again, and I strongly advice others to look elsewhere if they value timely and reliable transfers.
