The whole assement day lasts from 9am to 4pm, it was a great experience and a fantastic way to boost your self confidence.

Overall really positive experience - my Graduate Manager, Amelia Thomas, helped me so much with preparations for the assessment day and supporting any questions I had. I was placed in an amazing role very quickly too - it was very efficient.
Only negative was that I was informed I would get offered a range of roles to look at, however role choices came through from different people at different times, so it was hard to compare roles against each other. Also, once I started progressing into the latter stages with one role, all communications regarding other roles I had interviewed at or displayed interest in stopped without warning. This didn't really matter as I love the role I progressed with, but if this hadn't had been my top choice I would have been disappointed - it felt as if I had been removed from other processes without discussion.

Rude company. Lack experience, just try to seem otherwise. They do not help you get jobs, they mock you and give you false hope.

Katherine Alexander and Lauren Stein have been very helpful throughout the whole process at Pareto. I would highly recommend proceeding with their service in order to get a role with very big opportunity. I was placed in a role within 14 days after passing the assessment day.

If I could give zero stars, I would.

Avoid Pareto at all costs. They advertise roles that are outright misleading - for example, listing “Edinburgh-based” graduate schemes when the actual companies are located in England. The roles are not where they claim they are, and it feels deliberately deceptive.

They also boast about placing candidates into jobs within 9 days, which sounds impressive until you realise the quality and transparency of those opportunities are questionable at best.

I was very clear about my situation: I don’t drive, but I’m fully able to commute within Edinburgh or Glasgow. Despite this, they pushed a role in Peebles - completely impractical without a car. The moment I said it wasn’t feasible, they stopped responding entirely. No follow-up, no alternative options, nothing.

Since then, they’ve continued advertising “Edinburgh city centre” roles on LinkedIn, while ignoring candidates they’ve already engaged with. It’s unprofessional and shows they’re more interested in quick commission than actually helping people find suitable jobs.

If you’re not an easy placement that earns them money quickly, they drop you. Simple as that.

Don’t waste your time.

Ben and Lauren were a great help getting me through the assessment and finding a role, and Pareto placed me in a role less than 2 weeks after passing the assessment!

My experience with Pareto, Katherine and Zoe in particular, was very positive. I was looked after from beginning to end with my onboarding and constantly reassured when needed. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Not 5* as a separate recruiter on the assessment day falsely assumed I was looking for 4 times the advertised base salary and didn't think to question/confirm if this was true.

My experience with Pareto was genuinely one of the most disappointing recruitment processes I’ve encountered. The assessment day felt poorly designed and deeply inconsistent. Rather than objectively assessing skills, potential, or suitability for the role, the process appeared to hinge heavily on personal rapport and subjective preferences. In my assessment group, it was hard to ignore how favour was shown toward candidates the assessor personally clicked with (for example, bonding over supporting the same football team), while others demonstrating equal or stronger competencies were overlooked.

This made the whole exercise feel performative rather than professional. If you’re not immediately “liked,” it seems your actual abilities count for very little which undermines the entire premise of an assessment centre. The pay on offer also does not reflect the intensity, expectations, or pressure of the roles being marketed. When combined with a recruitment process that lacks transparency or consistency, it raises serious questions about how talent is evaluated and valued.

For a company positioning itself as a gateway to high-performance sales careers, I expected a fair, evidence-based process. What I experienced instead felt arbitrary, biased, and discouraging.

I would strongly caution graduates to manage their expectations and not assume this is a meritocratic process. There are far better recruiters out there who assess people on what they can actually do, not who they happen to get along with.

From the very first interaction everyone at Pareto was very professional and helpful. I am very grateful for the opportunities that have been put my way and some of the very helpful prep, communication and feedback from the team.

I had a great experience with Pareto from start to finish.
