Great service from Protectapet
Great service from Protectapet! We bought the 30m DIY kit. It came very well packaged with everything we could possibly need to install the fencing. The brackets themselves are amazing quality, and the mesh is great - but definitely wear gloves to handle it!
Once we watched the instruction videos it was much easier than we anticipated to get it up, taking about 5 hours in all. Our 7 cats can now finally enjoy the garden and we have complete peace of mind. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.

I had cat-proof fencing installed…
I had cat-proof fencing installed recently and I’m really pleased with the result. They had plenty of installation dates available, communication throughout the process was timely and clear, and the installation itself only took half a day.
Most importantly, my garden is now completely secure and I finally feel confident letting my cats outside. One of my cats is an absolute escapologist and has always managed to find a way out of previous enclosures, but so far he hasn’t been able to escape at all, which says a lot about the quality of the installation.
The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is that the installers didn’t clean up after themselves, so I was left with a bit of tidying to do afterwards. Aside from that, the service and the finished product have been excellent, and I’d happily recommend them to other cat owners looking for peace of mind.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the clean-up after the installation. This is really important feedback for us, and we'd like to give you a call to find out a little more about what happened. While our engineers aren't able to remove garden waste or existing garden materials, they should always leave the work area clean and tidy once the installation is complete. Site housekeeping is something our engineers receive extensive training on, so we'd like to understand where we fell short on this occasion.

Lovely looking catio but careful with the shelves and gate
The communication and service was excellent. The person who came to install was lovely and tidy and the catio looks lovely. The fact I could specify the size of was great as standard sizing didn’t work for my space. It’s just been disappointing in a number of ways given the high price point.
The latch and lock on the entry gate is not very good at all and I’ve had to buy a padlock to ensure it stays closed and is actually secure. The gate is also very slightly warped at the bottom.
My cat has fallen off the high shelf and seriously injured herself as the netting is more flexible that it appears so she lent against it not realising that and there is no ‘edge’ to the shelf itself. There is no obvious way to secure this so I’m now looking at removing the high shelf entirely. The wire mesh around the bottom and on the gate is much more secure and the cats can press against this. I was expecting more of this given the price point. If I had been aware of this issue I would not have had a high shelf.
I can already see I’m going to need to add more clips to secure the netting as it’s going to curl up in a couple of places as it ages.
It is very unobtrusive though, looks very smart and functions as an outdoor area. I’m just going to have to adapt it more than I expected to make it safe and secure.

Excellent service. Quick, efficient and tidy, and even making sure any loose fences or pieces of wood are secured. .Our cats love to spend all day in the garden, coming and going as they please without the risks that come with living near busy roads.

Beware exorbitant repair charges
Four years ago ProtectaPet fitted an installation in my garden to keep my cats safe. I was so delighted with it, I recommended the company to friends and ProtectaPet got other customers through me.
Just recently I noticed some ties had come loose from one of the brackets and phoned the company to book a repair. I was quoted over £800!!! Apparently because of transport costs. But I know they have two teams working in London, so how on earth can they justify such transport costs? It is absolutely outrageous.
I have since hired a handy man, who checked all the other brackets, found nothing else had become detached, put in half a dozen new ties and charged me a minute fraction of what ProtectaPet quoted.
I must say it was not behaviour I expected from what had originally seemed to me such an ethical company.

The quote provided was for a dedicated repair visit by an experienced ProtectaPet installation engineer. This includes travel, labour, specialist equipment, public liability insurance, vehicle costs and the time required to assess and complete the work safely and professionally.
Before attending, we could not know whether the issue was a small fix or whether more significant repair work would be required. We appreciate that, in this case, the issue fortunately proved to be minor and was resolved locally at a lower cost.
Where a repair is small and one of our teams is already working nearby, we can often assist more cost-effectively. However, when a separate visit is required, we do need to quote based on the resources needed to attend properly.
We’re sorry this was not made clearer at the time, and we truly appreciate the recommendations you have made over the years.
We do hope you and the cats continue to enjoy the garden and you feel that you are able to continue to recommend us to your friends.

Brilliant , allow plenty time for assembly but it’s fantastic seeing my house cats safely getting outdoors . Game changer , looks modern too ! .. wish I’d got a bigger size now as my cats are so content and are in it all the time ! Pricey but 100% worth it for the freedom and enrichment it’s gave my girls ! False Advertisement
**Edited**Got a quote for my garden, was given images to show where to attach brackets etc on fence posts and the shed, the parts I was suggested to purchase were not enough to complete the job. I clearly showed a shed in the images sent to get the quote, I’m now being told to go and buy timber or purchase more fittings from ProtectaPet with them knowing I would of needed these things in the first place. I’m extremely disappointed with the service and even the quote to have the team come and fit the brackets was an extra £2k on top of the £800 spent on fittings.**edit** or youngest cat has since escaped the cat fence as has failed to come home. This isn’t poor installation this was down to the equipment provided not being correct. If in the email you suggest what I should buy why wouldn’t you add it to the price instead of saying that we need it then not quote it. I paid a further £80+ to get another bracket for the shed. I can share pictures of what we have done but would appreciate not being charged 4 months mortgage to come and fit any of the fittings.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your experience.
The recommendation we provided was based on the information and photographs supplied prior to purchase. As part of that recommendation, Georgia advised on 22nd May that:
"You will need to go around the shed like you would the fence and block the gaps off on either side - we recommend timber and/or mesh to do this."
As every shed and garden structure is different, timber is not supplied as a standard component of our kits and is typically sourced locally to suit the specific installation.
The professional installation quotation was also provided only after you contacted us to request a price for installation rather than carrying out the DIY installation yourself.
We appreciate that DIY projects can sometimes be more challenging than anticipated, but we do not feel that the description of "false advertisement" fairly reflects the advice and guidance that was provided before purchase.

Really delighted with our Protecta Pet system. Was super easy to order, just sent photos of our garden and Georgia put together everything we needed to order. It arrived quickly, and everything was clearly labelled and the instructions were easy to understand. Now our cats can come and go as they please and we don't have to constantly worry about them escaping.
