Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with Rainier Overseas Shipping for our move from California to Italy. Based on their in-person survey of our storage garage, I was given an estimate of $5,900. They picked up our belongings on January 2nd, without requiring any money up front. Over the course of the next two months I sent several requests for an invoice, but was always told it would be sent soon. Meanwhile, the items were taken to Houston. When I did finally receive an invoice, I was shocked that it was for $10,600. (I had added a guitar post-survey, which I had fully disclosed, and was told the price difference would be “minimal”.) I contacted Rainier, and they lowered the price to $8,900 as a show of good faith. Since my belongings were in Houston, and I was now in Italy, I had no choice but to pay it. Our shipment was delivered at the end of May. Moving is stressful enough. Due to the poor communication and the huge increase in costs, I definitely cannot recommend Rainier Overseas Shipping.

We used Rainier Overseas Moving to transport our household effects from Florida to Paraguay.
From start to finish it was a great process mainly because of Don Arroyo - who was our liaison from start to finish.
Having moved before we knew that it was important to obtain several quotes but it was clear that Don's knowledge of the complexities of an international move made a key difference.
Rainier wasn't the most inexpensive quote (nor were they the most expensive!) - but we firmly believe you get what you pay for.
Our move was organized within a few days and the pick up went super smoothly. Don was a support 100% of the time and made sure we were kept in the loop on shipping times etc.
With an international move you have a large number of moving parts as your household effects may be handed off from one vendor to another. Normally this would be very nerve-racking but Rainier has such a good set of vendors that this was not an issue.

Suffice to say everything was delivered safely into the house in Paraguay.

Having moved a number of times both domestically and internationally I can say that this was the easiest and least worrying of all our moves.

I would 100% use Rainier again and they have our highest recommendation.

Rainier Overseas Movers were the coordinators for the US part of our move from Sweden. The have been super helpful with customs and the company they used for the last leg, Apex, were amazing. Eveything arrived intact and looked just like it did when I had packed it back home.

I was in contact with Don Arroyo for my move from Toronto to Berlin. Don was incredibly considerate and helpful, flexible and empathic to the needs of a move, and always responsive and available to answer every question I had. He provided the best tips regarding storing my luggage in a way that would eliminate costs. Further, Rainier’s insurance options are among the best that movers provide. Rainier’s website is full of resources for those making cross border moves, and you can really tell from all their touch points that they want to help. While I did not ultimately proceed with Rainier due to the logistics of my move, I hold them in high regard because they operate with good faith, transparency and are clearly very experienced with cross-border moves.

We used Rainier Overseas Movers for our move from California to Spain in 2023. Both Rainier and Gosselin, the company they used in Belgium for the last leg shipment, did an impeccable job. I highly recommend them.

It was our first overseas move and we needed help. We had several pieces of furniture and several dozen boxes full of irreplaceable personal heirlooms and mementos that needed to get from Northern Italy to New York. We weren't sure Rainier was the right choice since they're based in the US and move a lot of expats overseas – in the opposite direction. But Don and Danise were awesome from day one. They clearly explained their quote and costs, stepped us through insurance and logistics, and connected us with awesome professional movers in Italy. They kept us updated, including through the brief dockworkers' strike in Oct. 2024. All of our things got here safely and on time. When we went looking for freight forwarding companies, we got quotes from 8 different groups – US based, Italy-based and global – and Rainier made a good impression right from the beginning. They were the clearest and the most thorough in responding to our amateur first-timer questions. (One of the top global logistics companies on earth, Kuehne+Nagel, told us they weren't even in the business of shipping personal goods anymore.) Rainier is really good at what they do, and I'd recommend them 100% to any family with stuff to send OR ship back from overseas.

From the initial contact to delivery of my items in Scotland, Don helped me every step of the way. He helped with the process, the timing schedule, updates and coordination with the delivery in the UK. The items were packed well, and the coordination with the UK delivery was excellent. The UK team was even able to do a split delivery with some of my items going into temporary storage and some being delivered directly to my home at no extra charge. I highly reccomend Rainier Overseas Movers and would certainly use their services again.

My wife and I needed to ship a container to our new home and Chile. We’d never shipped a container before so we were a little uneasy about the process. However, Don and his team walked us through our options and our belongings are now safe inside of our new home. We highly recommend Rainier Overseas Movers! Will most certainly call Don next time!

After searching for months to find the best shipping company for our international move, I finally came across Rainier and they were nothing but outstanding. Chuck Crosslin took care of all the details and both teams either end were extremely thorough, punctual and took great care of our belongings. We ended up having a lot more in our shipment compared to our initial quote and Chuck ensured that the price remained as close to our quote as possible. They also stored our shipment for several weeks in the UK as we couldn’t move into our house straight away.
