by Aksel & Aino in vinyl. First the delivery date was from February 26th to April 8th (I've never seen such a thing) and never delivered. Bandcamp, the editor and the band never give me an answer. Sad very sad. The editor is Live At Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, Germany.

Well, I only download digital albums from Bandcamp. In fact I have bought >100 albums, and never had any problems. Everything went absolutely smoothly. I also think that the artists see more of my money when I buy there than on Apple Music, Amazon and the like, so if I want to buy something, I go to Bandcamp first. Can't comment on the artist side (although a friend of mine host his stuff there and is apparently fine) or on reliability of receiving physical orders (which seems to be an issue in several reviews).

I have been using bandcamp for a month now and absolutely love it. Have bought 9 digital albums so far and no issues. Before bandcamp I bought CDs and ripped them to .wav files so I could have the best audio quality. With bandcamp I can get my .wav files immediately, no month long wait for my obscure albums to reach me from overseas.

Information about the download audio max quality is given before purchase in bits and kHz. To get the best quality, download .wav file types which is what is used on CDs. CD quality audio is 16 bit 44.1 kHz, you wont get this with a .mp3 or other "losless" file type. Note if you are an apple person then you want to download the .AIFF file type for CD quality audio. I then copy files from my server to my phone and use my phones music player, I use the musicolet app, to play songs on my home stereo, car stereo, or headphones. Having good speakers or headphones is also critical to achieve great sound.

When I was in high school I would listen to records with my friends to find new bands. Bandcamp is a freaking amazing resource if you know how to use it. I like to check out collections of other members who have the same albums I do. You can listen to albums in their collection and buy the ones you like. I have found amazing killer bands this way that I would have unlikely come across otherwise.

Last tip, back up those downloaded files so you always have them if something happens to artist bandcamp page.

Also note that most of the money spent on your purchase goes to the artist, so I imagine customers who need a lot of attention may be disappointed since you cant have an army of customer service reps and keep overhead as low as they do.

I have brought 2 cd from Bandcamp over the last 2 years both wouldn't play on my pioneer cd player lol. Here is the problem shit quality CDs used with blue reflective surface. Get your act together and use proper one.

So, how to start? Ordered a vinyl record (of course paid immediately). Record did not arrive after more than 3 months (I still do not understand why they say, shipping may take 3 months!!??) Contacted support. No answer. Contacted label through bandcamp. No answer.

Contacted the label directly. Answer within 1 hour. They did not get my order by Bandcamp, nor did they get my support email. They sent me the record and it arrived after 3 days. Bandcamp support wrote me an email after more than 2 weeks!!! after my first mail to them…

So in summary: if you have any problem, it will take more than 2 weeks for an answer. If you like to wait more than 3 months for an item you ordered and paid, use Bandcamp. You will be happy. You have to solve the problem by yourself. They take the money from you as a customer and from the artist. But they do not care about them.

There are better platforms with a normal customer support ( which means for me, you get an answer within a few days.) Bye bye Bandcamp.

Make sure you pay with PayPal as Bandcamp or artists never reply to emails or messages on Bandcamp when requiring about orders. Many artists on Bandcamp tend to forget to send orders / pre-orders but are very happy to keep your money! I had to open disputes to get my money back as artists never sent orders. Bandcamp or artists only replied once the dispute is open!

Purchased an album, seller deleted it and relisted the same album about a week later.

I have to redownload it, but I can't because it has been deleted.

Seller is unresponsive.

Bandcamp is unresponsive.

No customer support, cannot redownload the album in the correct format. Ridiculous, I threw money in the trash. Bandcamp is trash.

Bandcamp ended up replying to me, and were able to fix my problem after a little over a week of arguing. 3 stars because they should make it more clear that when a seller decides to delete his account or album, you can't download it anymore.

Scam, 6 weeks of my order, still nothing, no reply to my emails, unsure whether I can get my money back. Shame on them

Payed for Pro so I could batch upload. I immediately resented doing so as I feel that Artists should be able to batch upload for free.

Can’t Batch upload single tracks, batch upload only works when selecting album, Like I want to make an album with 600 tracks on it.

Fix your website you fricken spanner’s

Service client inexistant. Le vendeur comme la plate-forme ne répondent pas. Au bout de plus d’un mois d’attente, et n’ayant toujours pas reçu ma commande, j’ai du faire jouer ma garantie sur PayPal pour obtenir un remboursement. Depuis le rachat de Bandcamp, les choses se sont dégradées en termes de relation client. Lamentable.

Fichiers musicaux avec une qualité sonore excellente. Beaucoup de variétés. Attention cependant lors des achats avec le même compte sur un ordinateur et sur le téléphone portable. On ne retrouve pas toujours tous les fichiers sur l'un comme sur l'autre. Privilégiez l'achat par ordinateur.

I bought a file, it was fake. I asked for a refund, but they didn't do anything. Well, that is called a scam.

I have no idea why other people gave bad or average ratings. I been using this for years with no problems. You need to understand bandcamp is taking on all the risk letting people upload their music to display and sell for free. Other than the lack of website configuration, their service is great.

Preordered a limited edition vinyl by my daughter costing 90 dollars which was a lot fot her suppossed to arrive 18 july at the latest nothing. sent two emails still nothing now opening a case with paypal to get her the money back. One disappointed young lady, one angey and annoyed mother. Please don't use

Made an order for a vinyl (order included digital release) which was estimated to ship around June 5th. No official communication despite two-month delay.

Found out today (Aug 6th) that the vinyl had been shipped and there was not going to be a digital release. This means I did not get what I ordered.

I would not recommend BandCamp.

Hallo, ich als Kunde finde es schade, dass viele Tracks nur auf Pioneer 3000 abgespielt werden können, für mich heißt es, dass ich zusätzliche Arbeit leisten muss, Tracks überprüfen ob die abgespielt werden, oder schauen dass im Clubs Pioneer 3000 gibt...deshalb überlege ich leider wieder in Beatport einzukaufen.

I have a Bandcamp page with one of my original song on it. When you try to find the artist or the name of the song. The site return nothing. They filter the search engine to hide artists & songs. The most stupid & useless web site ever created. Stay away from this crap. Don't waste your time!

Bandcamp has fraudulently charged me 95.41$ for products and or services I have never heard of or used ever. How do I contact a real person that might be able to help me get a full refund . Because if this issue my card is now locked and blocked which is a huge pain on the as. Before I could even see or receive my new card it was hacked again . Terrible customer experience.
Faulty item sent and weeks later I’m still awaiting a refund or label even after sending endless e-mails. Had just 2 x e-mails promising it would be sorted but nobody responds. Have now set up a case with PayPal and my card provider.
