RIAS responds quickly to customer feedback.

Disliked the fact that some information on policy and not given to Rias by me, so far has been impossible to correct.

Update: RIAS responded almost immediately and I am now able to edit the incorrect information, so well done RIAS and thank you.

There are specific situations where you cannot make changes yourself online, for example, before cover has started, during a renewal cycle, if there is a pending claim, or for specific details such as claims or convictions, which cannot be amended via your online account.

Insuring a car with zero ncd

Bought a new car but decided to keep the old one as well. Transferred the 9 years ncd to the new car but that meant insuring the older one with zero ncd. Rias quoted unbelievably low price (in my opinion) with identical cover level and excess to the cover I had just swapped over with 9 years ncd. Not sure of the behind the scene maths but thanks anyway. Will definitely recommend.

No response, no proper contact details, glitchy website

We bought home insurance with boiler cover through Rias. Our boiler is not working and despite submitting a claim 3 days ago and they said we were covered on our policy we have heard nothing from the boiler recovery service. We have been given no contact details and no reference just a text that you can't reply to. Communication is poor to non existent. The only way we can get in touch is through submitting another response and the website is glitchy both on mobile phone and the computer. When we have tried to submit the details again it is saying there is no policy. Really unhelpful useless website. Avoid. I do not recommend and I would not renew.

No frills

No frills. But difficult to make changes on the website. It's very slow. Staff are nice enough to talk to. Never needed to claim so can't comment on that.
Renewal was too expensive or would have stayed

Rias don't insure MGs

Rias went through details for insuring me and 20minutes later after giving all the details it appears that they haven't a "Risk Factor" for my vehicle and cannot quote me. What sort of industry is this. It was an MG Trophy Hybrid. not like MG have never made cars. Appalling I had to go through to the end without a result. RIAS has just replied to this post and have tried to justify the reason for not quoting me as not having enough data because it’s a new model. Where do they want to get their data from? Other insurance companies that accept the risk?? So Ford bring out a new model and RIAS won’t insure it until other companies have tested the risk? Company should be fined for being biased. Pathetic response.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re genuinely sorry for the frustration caused by your experience. We completely understand how disappointing it is to go through the full quotation journey and not receive a result.

While MG is an established manufacturer, we’re required to assess risk at a very specific model and variant level. As the MG Trophy Hybrid is a newer model, there isn’t yet sufficient claims data available for us to rate that exact version, especially if this is a 2025-2026 variant. Unfortunately, this means we’re sometimes unable to offer a quote until more market data becomes available for that specific model.

We appreciate that this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for and apologise for the time taken to reach it. Your comments have been noted, and we do value the feedback you’ve provided.

Easy Renewal

Quick and easy to renew policy. Although not the cheapest, cover is adjustable to requirements. Have renewed for 3rd year. Can't comment on claims as thankfully not needed.
