A masterclass in how not to treat a customer!
I ordered a simple belt from Söderberg. Ten days later, it still had not been properly dispatched.
The company first promised that I would receive it “on or before Friday.” When Friday arrived and tracking showed it had not been posted, I was told it would go out that day using an overnight service and arrive before noon the following day.
That deadline also passed without any genuine tracking evidence. Söderberg then claimed UPS had already collected the parcel but that its system was simply “slow to update.” When I asked for proof, none was provided.
Their explanation for the delay was that they were away on a production trip and are “a very small independent company, not Prada.” Being independent may explain limited capacity; it does not excuse accepting payment, failing to dispatch for ten days, making delivery promises that cannot be substantiated, and leaving the customer to repeatedly chase the order.
The website does not even allow customers to access their own order details. My confirmation also had to be resent manually after apparently being sent to the wrong email address.
After the missed promises and lack of verifiable dispatch, I reasonably asked to cancel and receive my money back. They refused, claiming the parcel was already on its way and that I could only be refunded after it had somehow reached me and been returned to them.
Beautiful branding means very little when the basic operation behind it is this disorganised. This has been an exhausting, amateurish and deeply untrustworthy purchasing experience. I would strongly advise potential customers not to order unless they are prepared for unexplained delays, unsupported assurances and a battle to recover their own money.
