Don't ever reserve a room with them
Don't ever reserve a room with them. They do not refund you if you want to cancel. Once you book a room their booking IT system is so slow that if you log in you are not able to see your reservation and therefore you cannot cancel. After 24 you are screwed and say good bye to your money if you would not be traveling any more. Reviews about their service are horrible and because I didn't end up traveling I couldn't experience my moneys worth. Trust me do your self a favor and do not book with them.

This is my worst experience ever . I was charged a 250 dollars fee from my account, apparently, they said they’ll have that 250 dollars on hold before I can be given the check in details to check into the room and have it refunded back to my account after 3 - 5 business days after checking out . I saw this 250 dollars taken out of my account , the moment I gave authorization for it to be taken, so I can be given my check-in details , but I never had my money returned . I have waited for about 2 weeks now but still never got back my 250 dollars . They said , the money has been refunded back to my account and I should speak with my bank . I spoke to my bank for a hour plus , multiple times but they said they didn’t see the transaction nor my money being refunded nor released . I spoke with Sonder customer service several times but they kept having me going forth and back with no solution nor have my money returned back to me . This is the worst experience have had when it comes to lodging . I’ll never lodge in such a place ever again and I hope they choke on my hard earned money .
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!
Possibly the worst experience of staying in a hotel ever. No housekeeping. No customer service. No VAT receipt (for business travel making this essentially 20% more expensive). For the equivalent price (had I known vat could not be reclaimed) I could have stayed in a well known 5-star hotel with housekeeping, attentive staff, and a cooked breakfast.

Air of grime. Customer service rep was pleasant and understanding but ultimately wouldn’t refund. Left immediately instead of staying the 2 nights. Unsafe.
No Customer Service
Worst customer service! They’ve trained their reps (sounds like overseas) that they may not do anything to correct their own errors- the customer has to sort it out. They cancelled my bookings not at my request and when I called to ask what happened, they said well you’ll just need to rebook. They cancelled an early check in we’d paid for, because they switched our room. I didn’t ask to switch rooms, or for them to cancel the early check in, which we needed. The room change should have been made behind the scenes if they needed to make it, and not involve cancelling other services we already paid for. The customer service rep was one of the worst I’ve encountered. He would do absolutely nothing to make it right and acted like they did nothing wrong. Beware that this chain is truly “self-service”- there was no one onsite to speak with except one housekeeping staff who spoke no English (this is in the US). I had to call an 800 number & he also would not provide any way to escalate or contact a supervisor. 👎🏼

It doesn't even deserve one star. I took a terrible fall at the Sonder Beekman in Santa Monica ( I use to stay at the old Shang ri la and it was fabulous) They only had one small elevator working. The other was being renovated.
They said this was going on for months.
I had a dinner meeting and waiting 10 minutes and decided to take the stairs.
I took a terrible fall on the concrete stairs and went to the er next morning after I was up with icepacks and aleve bruised and bleeding .
My knee was put in a brace and I could hardly walk.
I had to take a business class flight back to NY had a wheelchair at airport. No one has contacted me. I want them to take car of medical bills. THERE IS NO NUMBER AND NO ONE REPLIES!! I think this company is the biggest scam . The wifi connection was the worst as they said they would fix the router as well .
I have tried to contact the manager 4 times with pictures of my knee and leg..no response!!
I wanted to contact my dr. in NY to have an orthopedist referral when I got home but couldn't because router wasn't working and we are 3 hrs time difference.
If anyone has a a contact please comment. I live in nyc and will be looking to take legal action.

Was unable to check in in advance using their web system. (System to put in personal details kept incrementing number of people staying rather than proceeding to completion.) Had to send a message to support to get through this stage, took a couple of days for them to complete. Will avoid this chain in future based on this poor check in website experience.
They Canceled the Reservation two days before my stay
To start it’s weird they make you send drivers license to them, seems like a scam. You only learn this after you book.
Now here comes the main issue, booked a long weekend in Fort Lauderdale. Two days before my flight they randomly cancel my room. They said they are no longer doing Sonder at this location. What? Two days before my stay you close the Sonder down. But they said they could rebook me for a different room. Didn’t make any sense.

I had a terrible experience with booking on Sonder! They did not allow me to change the reservation anytime past 24 hours after booking, despite my wanting to spend more on reservation and spending $34K/year on the hotel with repeat bookings.

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out regarding a recent booking I made at your hotel for April 1 - April 5. Due to a miscommunication in the booking confirmation email, which mentioned an unclear policy on date modifications, I am seeking your help to change my reservation to April 15 - 19. I had called earlier to speak to a representative earlier this week (5 days before checkin) and they mentioned a team member would call me back to follow up and I have not yet heard back.
Despite the email stating (as you can see below and in earlier notes you shared) that changes could be made "up to %{min_days_before_checkin} days before check-in," it's unclear how this applies, given the apparent typo. As a repeat customer who has spent approximately $2,400 at your property with two week long visits and plans to continue regular visits each month, I was surprised by this rigidity, especially since I am willing to upgrade to a larger room (king suite) for an additional $300.
I value our ongoing relationship and believe this change won't just benefit me but also reinforce our mutual interests, considering my future plans to spend around $34,000 annually at your hotel with two one weeks stays per month. I have been so dismayed at the customer service experience, that without help with this change I will certainly take my business elsewhere resulting in $34K loss per year for Sonder - which truly would be a lose-lose.
I kindly ask for your assistance in this matter and look forward to a resolution that maintains the high regard I have for Sonder, Georgetown C&O.

They were horrible during our reservation and booking process. They kept saying we needed to talk to Airbnb when in reality they were just passing us around so we could not get a refund after a close family member suffered a death. Horrible ethics at this company.
Serious Data Breach from booking a holiday in Barcelona…
I booked a holiday in Barcelona to stay at the Placa Reial Sonder site, and went through the security process to verify my identity. To my surprise, some days later I received an email notifying me of a new Bank Account with a currency exchange bank called "Wise" which had been opened in my name. These bank accounts require a photo ID and Sonder is the only company who have this data on me, and I fear they have leaked this information to a third party who has opened this account. Sonder is investigating this potential data breach, but currently, I would advise people not to provide Sonder with personal ID information.

They lied about everything. 3 different SONDER representatives guaranteed me that I did NOT have to do the facial recognition & fingerprints through a 3rd party. 2 days before my arrival they reached out & used Tyrannical methods. Their unprofessionalism has no boundaries like no other. Massachusetts representatives Fahad & rep Ivy were the worst.
Noise Level Unbearable
Booked for Fort Lauderdale. So noisy! I knew something was up when I walked into the bedroom and found ear plugs and an ambient noise maker. The sound from the train and parties was nuts. The 3 AM train never stopped! Furthermore, rules around the pool area were not enforced. People were parading around with glass cups in their hands and smoking weed. Area smelt terrible. Parking fees were nuts. Would never stay with Sonder again. I tried to change the reservation and they were very firm and did not want to shorten my stay. Basically said tough luck. Worst experience. When I voiced my experience with them after my stay, they said sorry, we'll try harder. No coupon, compensation, nada....
Worst experience - avoid at all lost
Worst experience. Don't use them. I booked a stay in Mexico at Sonder Taman Condesa in Mexico City and got a nice Black Friday deal. Then around 3 weeks ago I was contacted that the accommodation wasn't available anymore and that I need to cancel and find a new place. I contacted Sonder to see if they could rebook us to a different Sonder apartment. They gave me two options and I replied promptly choosing one. Then I didn't hear back for a long time, kept chasing and chasing. Eventually I was told that it's not possible but that I can cancel and book one of the different ones myself. I responded that I was told that I would be rebooked by Sonder at no extra cost. Then someone said that the apartment that I first booked was still confirmed and going ahead. I said that it's very confusing as I was told it wasn't available anymore. A different customer service advisor then said that I was right and it's not available. I then just asked to cancel my reservation as it's been the worst experience. I never dealt with the same person and it seems like there's zero communication internally about what a customer was told. On top of that I probably missed out on loads of amazing other Black Friday deals and ended up having to rebook around 3 months later which again meant the prices went up. I will never use Sonder again and I'm just glad I rebooked now rather than having all of this a few days before.

I recently stayed at Found Chicago from December 29 to January 24 , the building is a renovated place in the heart of downtown, a perfect location, but the building has many defects which kept to make problems in a row affecting our stay, starting from the elevator, kitchen, bathroom, firealarm and last but not least the WiFi. however the peoples who responded to our chats were very polite and helpful. Strangely enough people claimed that they are from fire alarm team nocked our door and entered without our permission.
Look into travel insurance before booking
The chain has a totally rigid and unreasonable cancellation policy, I was/am unable to travel due to weather in my home city, I messaged the property a little more than 24 hours prior and was told via a chatbot that no refund or credit could be provided. They keep the entire prepaid amount, with no leeway or consideration for things out of the guest's control. I tried to reason, offered to reschedule or keep the credit with the same property, and received the same canned response that no refund or credit could be given. Very frustrating considering most hotels would give you a credit at the very least. This was the PennyLane property in Montreal. My best advice is to be sure to get insurance before renting one of these apartments just in case.
A no hassle refund
Had an issue with a booking but the lady on the call center number was super helpful and furnished a full refund on the spot.
Poor Service, terrible experience
this company will take a reservation and payment over the phone from a PA to a CEO. but wont cancel it and only want to speak to the passenger. Their systems and processes have no room for flexibility. the world of travel and booking accommodation is never straightforward so why cant their systems align. they also NEVER have a manager or supervisor on duty and to speak to one they will log a ticket and hope for someone to call you back in 48 hours.
Reservation cancelled less than 24h before arrival
We booked a room for the location in Amsterdam. The night before check-in we still did not have all information from them for the check-in, so I contacted the support. I got an email with all the necessary information, 20 minutes later I get another mail saying the reservation is cancelled and claiming our payment was "flagged" in their system (we had paid in advance and our money was already with them). I was locked out of my account on the Sonder website, unable to continue to communicate via their Support chat. Got a text with numbers to call but with no phone number for our area (Europe), so we looked it up online and called anyway. Man on the phone did not apologise once and kept saying he can't give us information because it's "confidential" and that the team would reach out to us via email for further explanation. No email has reached us thus far, of course. Had to cancel our entire vacation.
