Staysure Expat Travel Insurance Opiniões 

I had to cancel a booked hiking holiday after I fell and badly broke and displaced both bones in both wrists. I had surgery with 3 metal pins inserted in each wrist. My wrists were immobilised for 10 weeks, after which I started intensive physiotherapy. The surgeon and physiotherapist both advised me to cancel the trip as I would not be able to use hiking poles and there was a risk of falling on weakly-bonded bones. I submitted a claim to Staysure (Expat) 2 months ago with all the information and evidence requested including the cancellation invoice, surgeon’s report, X-rays and photographs of me with both my arms in plaster but they still have not dealt with it.
Staysure’s adverts say that they pay 95% of claims, that they respond within 5 days of receiving notification of a claim and pay within 5 days of receiving all information requested. They say complicated claims might take a little longer.
I notified Staysure (Expat) on 23 May and provided all requested information and evidence on 27 May. My claim is clearly genuine and not at all complicated.
The only communication I have received from Staysure Expat is 5 requests for my bank details, which I have provided 5 times. They ask for this info by email but they don’t read my emails. I receive automated responses saying thank you for your email; please provide your bank details.

This is the 2nd year I have insured with them, and find any contact dealt with in a friendly & efficient manner. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I've used Staysure several times for short trips around the EU and the process is always quick and easy, and the prices are very reasonable.

I'm 73, had difficulty in getting online quotes. I was totally honest about any medical issues, and was offered, and accepted what I thought was not an unduly expensive quotation.

I have used Staysure in the past and even though I’ve never made a claim the process of getting insurance is very straightforward.

I'm 84 years and paid a lot of money for a single trip policy for a trip to America for my granddaughter's wedding. I have just found out that wedding has been cancelled due to my granddaughter's grandmother on her mother's side just being diagnosed with stage four cancer. When I asked to cancel the policy, I was told because it was outside the 14 day period I would get no money back. I think this is disgraceful.

I took out an annual policy with Staysure Expat in October 2025 for a holiday in July 2026 as I booked my flights in October. Now we are 29 June and 1 week ago I told them about some new medical changes. They have still not confirmed these have been added and I have phoned them numberous time and seems they want me to wait another 5 days!! My holiday is only a few weeks away and this is stressing me out. Why I am being fobbed off. So now logging a complaint and been put on hold for 15 minutes so far. Once I get an outcome I will update here. All I want to know is can you add these conditions if so great, or no we cannot cover you.. then OK lets get a claim in and I can cancel may plans. Really how hard can it be!! Being left in limbo is trully awful. Lets see how long this all takes!! I
