I was quite happy with the service that we got when we first rented our unit in Norwich, but after the second month, the price went up and we was not told about this. I thought they should’ve told me that the prices was going up not just put the price up. I’m very disappointed in this therefore I will start looking for somewhere else. It actually went up twice on the 1st of August and then again on the 1st of September.

I rented a small unit in Walton and was there for over a decade going from the old company who where brilliant to the new owners Storage Mart. I am living overseas and wanted to store some belongings securly in the UK while abroad. The staff there are amazing however Storage Mart have no regard for long term renters, if you are looking for long term storage, find better, there are many in the area. The rent kept on being increased to the point I worried every time I received an email, add to this the forced an over priced insurance on top of the rental cost, I had private insurace that I constantly had to prove existed. After more than a decade of this, I flew back to the UK and closed my account to go to a better store. The amazing on site staff I feel very sorry for as they run things very well but the American owners do not care about customers. There are other storage companies that I would look at before signing up with Storage Mart for anything longer than a month. I feel very let down as I was a very loyal customer for a very long time, always paying on time. Very happy to have left and not to have the constant worry about a simple storage unit. If they respond to this, ignore what they write, this company really do not care about customers only customers money. As predicted there is a reply, beware storing here and do not agree to the over priced insurance they try to force onto you.

I rented their largest unit with the plan to keep it for a couple of years. On the 2nd month they raised the rent 23%. They feel that it's perfectly acceptable to do that. Everyone employee there has the same response, "The other storage companies do the same thing" If I had read the reviews for this company more carefully, I would have never used them (unethical business practice in my opinion)

Have been trying & trying & trying to pay my storage bill I called 8/1/25 4 times to the office & left messages to please call me back because this conglomerate just acquired the mom & pop storage company that it was before. Wish to God I had consulted Trust Pilot before too much time had elapsed!!! If you do go ahead & trust your belongings with this mega company better have a lawyer on retainer to point out all of the pitfalls in the paperwork!!! Alot of people resort to putting things in storage when they are going through a transitionary time in their lives & put things in storage as a last resort. Of course there are sharks out there who actually punish you & hold your possessions hostage when one finds him or herself in that state of affairs. So if you have a guaranteed, problem-free life then gamble your things with this conglomerate. Their computer portal won't accept my card & the lady at the site says she cannot do anything over the phone. The phone # on my account happens to be a 913 area code # & the computer won't allow me to change that either!!! The lady at the physical site refers me to the 800 # & when I call the 800 # they say no you have to deal with the property manager at the physical site!!! It is now 8/21/25 & they have tacked on insurance & 2 late fees & the story changes with each person you talk to!!! I have come to the conclusion that they just want to jerk me around & not let me make a payment until it reaches an overwhelming amount!!! I have called & called & sent emails but having a 913 555-2233 number on my personal unit which the computer will not allow me to change is nefarious at best!!! Alexis at the call center said that their call center is located in that area & that she doesn't see it on her end therefore she is unable or unwilling to change it for me!!! Is it time to generate a complaint with the Iowa Attorney General Consumer Protection Division???? All I want to do is make my payment & their system is rigged against me!!!!
I was able to make a payment for my unit on 8/23/25. There was a glitch in the computer system that was preventing me from changing the incorrect phone # on my unit. Both the 800 # & the store were struggling to figure this procedure out, but after I went to the store & had a face to face conversation with Deeanna, (Kudos) She figured it out & then my card # was accepted!!! I learned that the on site manager works extraordinarily hard & the heat here in Iowa is oppressive right now!!! Deanna was very courteous & understanding. As I see it this situation could be improved with better training for the people at the 800# & the on site managers. Consequently, No More Hair On Fire Customers!!!

Stay away from StorageMart they will give you a rate increase after 4 months while they advertise the same size unit for less than my original price. 10x20 unit was $124.99 then they raised my rate to $151.99 while it’s currently being advertised for $116. When you call you get an attitude that if ya don’t like the price move but they remind ya how hard it is to move. Guess what my outside RV spot has never been raised, why? Because it’s one item and you can move right away if they raise the rate. StorageMart will give you the typical excuse of market demand while they rent to a new customer for 25% less.

Russell at the Ipswich branch is amazing, he went out of his way to make the experience straightforward and easy. Gave us prices with no hidden extras, nothing was too much of an ask, he helped us with the entire process and I would highly recommend to friends and family.

IF I COULD SAY 0 and still write I would. Class action lawsuit is the best way to deal with these people! Double charge me the first month. Impossible to get anyone to do anything!!!!

Zero stars should be a choice. Another horific large company. Typical large corporation. Prices went thru the roof. Customer service was rude and horrible. Accounting errors continuously. I was there for 20 years and it took 2 years with you to drive me out and many others by my unit are also leaving. Absolutely the worst!

I have been a customer for over three years. I have paid my bill 2 to 3 months in advance. Today I got charged an extra 125 dollars than my regular rent. I was in the hospital with very bad medical problems. I can’t believe they would charge a guy so much extra. I wasn’t in the province of Ab.
I have given my notice. I will never deal with these guys ever again. I wouldn’t recommend them for anyone to rent from.

I have been a customer since April 2022. In March 2025 our unit was broken into, which came to be found by the property employee 36-48 hours after the break-in. The process has been nothing short of a nightmare! Our unit was broken into and left half open during a severe thunderstorm down pour which also damaged MANY things as well as property stolen. StorageMart has now decided to let me know my claim is denied due to fraud!!! Even went to the point of saying i lied about the weather because she "lives in Missouri" and knows it didn't rain that day! Mind you her area code is at least 2 hours outside of mine, and despite the point of the property aware of the downpour of rain along with the officer taking the report, they are still trying to deny! I have only been given another number to contact someone else, which just leads to NOTHING!!! I am beyond furious with this business and their negligence in making sure people's property is properly taken care of when we pay a lot of money monthly to ensure this!!!! Rather they just have minimal security cameras along with them being so bad you can't even make out any images in their recordings. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!

I visited the location in Hillside and met a wonderful person Ginger that helped guide through the whole process. Explained in detail what to expect and showed me a unit. What great and pleasant experience with Ginger. Thank for all the information and I will definitely be giving my business to this location thanks in part to Ginger. I did rent the biggest storage in Waukee for a year , when price go up to 320$ i cant afford that anymore.
I talk to Jessica in Wauke , she was very nice.
She helped me to go online and find a smaller one they give me deal from online, one month " free" plus 4 months for 87$ , I did sign my stuff online, move all my stuff to the older one cross the street, in very hot days because I want to have cheep one .
After a month a got email that I will pay 126$ !!?!
I was very upset 😡
They said to me its insurance, I did agree by signing my agreement on online .
Yes its right , but nobody say any of this to warn me about my money .
They said Sorry its "Corporate Police "!
So..... I won't recommend using them because all of this plus they can change prices when they want in notice of 15 days .
If you fast enough to take your stuff out and protected yourself from the big change in price you ok , Im not I have ro move all my items by myself.

i would have given ONE star, but the facility itself is fine. i had a great experience with the facility located in Fairfield. However, the facility located in Concord has an employee who is extremely rude, and he is the main reason i am rating at two stars. The secondary reason is because after the 3-month promotional deal ended, my monthly rate should have only increased to the standard amount, which is listed on the website as being $60 per month. The promotion was for $27. The problem is that the monthly price increased to $113 per month, which is a 500 percent price increase! That was outrageous. i checked the website again, and it still has their standard price listed as $60. Anyway, this sudden outrageously large bill had a major impact on my budget, and i don't feel like there's a reasonable explanation for such a huge price difference. I'll be moving to a different facility before the end of the month. The 2nd star was added due to the wonderful experience i had in Fairfield. But the Concord facility is to blame for such a low score.

Got a unit in April for $99/month deal. Last two months I’ve paid at least $130. Due to “coverage changes” & rent increases I am now expected to pay $157 in August for a large non climate controlled unit. The “deal” I was sold was a scam & I regret trusting this business & the employees that I spoke with.

CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY THEY WILL JACK YOU UP AFTER U FILL YOUR STORAGE UNIT.
I RENTED A UNIT ON 3/29 FOR 269 A MONTH AND RECIEVED A BILL ON 6/15 FOR 322 A MONTH AND WAS TOLD IT WAS AN INCREASE AND NOTHING I COULD DO. EVENTUALLY AFTER SEVERAL CALLS AND COMPLAINTS THE SAVED ME 11 DOLLARS. BEWARE/ BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS ON NEW CLIENTS, I WONDER HOW THEY TREAT THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN THERE FOR OVER A YEAR!!!!
SHOP OTHER COMANIES THAT WILL HONER THEIR AGREEMENT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS OR A YEAR
