I wouldn’t even give them a 1, but this is their lowest rating. I have had problems with them from the beginning. They give you a cheap rate & within 2 months they go up on the rate, and not just a few $. Mine went up like $30. And they chg what they want once you give them your bank information. Rather it is their mistake or not they DO NOT make adjustments to your bill. I sent my Home Owners Insurance policy to them & they charged me for the insurance coverage again on 2 units the following month. And they are not returning my calls.

We have used the Braun location in San Antonio Texas for about 3+ years now the manager there Kelley is superior. Great customer service very understanding and so helpful to us. If all managers were this, please let Kelley know our appreciation and I am very pleased with her, and her service

Mariana at StorageMart Thousand Oaks has been helpful to me on numerous occasions through this past year. From forgotten codes to lost keys and corrected invoices I always felt that her customer focus was always apparent. There couldn't be a better facility manager!

We stored our brand new camper trailer at StorageMart in Spokane Valley, WA under a secured locked front gate and barbed wire fencing around entire perimeter with the understanding it would be safe and secure. Their front gate broke so they unlocked a side gate for 4 days waiting to fix the main gate so tenants could access their units. However this action allowed anyone entry and our camper was damaged and broken into! StorageMart didn’t even let us know about the gate issue so we could move our camper to a safe location! Then they denied claim to this and we had to personally pay for the damage! They are a terrible company! I wouldn’t recommend doing business with them!

I have used StorageMart in Brighton for several months in connection with my work. I cannot thank Geoff and Simon for their help it has made my life so easy advising me when my parcels arrived and often helping with them as they have often been big and awkward. I would no hesitate in recommending this depot to anyone looking for storage and two friendly guys always willing to help.

The owner of the storage I'm currently using changed a few months ago. I'd paid a year's rent to the previous owner, but I received an email two months before the expiration date stating that the contract would be renewed. The contract only pursued the owner's profits, which was naturally unacceptable, so I decided to rent this new storage. I made the reservation online early in the morning, and when I went to the office at noon, the woman in charge was very kind and explained everything to me, making me feel very comfortable. The facility was also very clean and well-maintained, and the quality was far superior to the place I had rented before.

I've rented my units for just well over a year. Just recently I had my job utility trailer broken into along with my spare utility truck on site. The reason we moved to this location was the fact they offered a secure location with cameras. Few weeks ago the security gate was not functioning properly and the side gate was opened and unlocked for access. The site has been left unsecured for almost 2 weeks or more since the gate has been repaired. The Trailer and the truck were broken into during the time the site has been left unsecured. I spoke with the on site manager about the site being unsecured and I was told they were waiting for a chain from amazon to resecure the gate. I filed a police report and asked the onsite manager about camera footage as well. I was told I would need to get a subpoena to see the footage. If this is the service we get for the rental fee I am moving to a more secure site. I do have a list of other problems to address but the security issue is the biggest one for me since I've been violated. Not all sites are super secure but people shouldn't be able drive in and load things up.

Mouse feces and spiders in ALL of my things. And I was told that it was a known thing in the units in the area mine is by corporate when I called to complain and an employee at the storage place itself. Then to be told I guess they need better pest control and then the worker laughed. And that was the manager of the storage place. My whole life was in that unit. I had to throw away priceless things like my both sons kindergarten work because it had mouse droppings all over it.

I’ve never encountered a company so willing to sacrifice thousands in revenue to enforce a $47 late fee.
Here’s my story:
For over 3.5 years, we’ve been loyal StorageMart (Hopkins, MN) customers, paying them over $7,322.59 in rent. We use Wells Fargo bill-pay to send monthly checks. On February 16, 2025, we mailed our March rent check of $208.99, unaware that they had quietly increased our rent earlier in the month. The only notice was an autopay invoice email—easy to miss due to its generic subject line.
On February 26, 2025, an employee of ours visited the StorageMart facility and was informed that the check, received before March 1, was going to be shredded because it wasn’t for the full amount. Instead of depositing the payment and requesting the difference, they chose to discard it. Why not accept the payment and notify us?
We immediately sent another check for the correct amount—$234.99—via USPS. Unfortunately, this check didn’t arrive until March 8, 2025. By this time, StorageMart had already imposed a $47 late fee on March 4, 2025, bringing the total due to $281.99. When the March 8 check arrived, they refused to deposit it, citing the missing late fee. As a result, I had now written two valid rent checks that StorageMart refused to deposit.
Over email, I appealed to have the late fee waived, considering their refusal to deposit partial checks contributed to the delay. Amy at StorageMart responded dismissively: “Well, first we don’t take partial payments.” This is demonstrably false. In the past, they have accepted partial payments when raising rents without sufficient notification. In fact, their rent increases don’t follow a yearly schedule—they occur on an irregular 275-day cycle, something I had to research for this review.
Despite escalating my concerns to both Jake and Dale Brumbaugh at their office, my appeals were denied. Left with no choice, I paid the full amount, including the late fee, and made the decision to vacate our locker. I informed my CEO that I would never do business with a company that treats its customers with such disdain.
If you’re considering renting with StorageMart, be prepared for sneaky rent hikes (typically 13% APR increases, disguised by their irregular schedule) and an unbending, customer-unfriendly approach to any billing issues.

Bait & Switch - We rented a unit and in the 4th month when we received the invoice for the 5th month it stated there was a 15% increase charging $27 a month more (15 calendar days notice). Online it still showed the same old amounts without an increase. Matthew (StorageMart Manager of 8401 18 St, Edmonton) advised there is no contract so they can increase the price at any time and that the online price is promotional pricing, online does NOT specify that the prices are promotional only. We believe it is underhanded & deceitful to wait until people have their storage locker full of items to then increase the price significantly on individual units based on length of time rented. It is also deceitful to not inform potential customers that the initial price is promotional for only 4 months. Since then I read many reviews stating the same and spoke to other StorageMart customers that said their locker cost was increased every 4 months. A couple of people even asked if the Bait & Switch is even legal? Recommend NOT using StorageMart unless you are storing for less than 4 months.
