Bait and Switch - Zero Integrity.

Same as everyone else. Bait and switch on mulitiple accounts. 1) PayPal credit account of a decade plus switched to a PayPal Credit Card with all new terms and 32% interest because I didn't "decline" the credit card offer. 2) transactions fall off promotional and are only on "statements" so website is not accurate accounting of balances. 3) Care Credit (different account) could not confirm payment of balance "at this time" would incur any additional fees/charges that would be assessed as promotional offer is expiring. Representatives seemed trained to be evasive. Scam company. Take business elsewhere. Far more reputable companies out there.

CARECREDIT FOR SYNCHRONY BANK. I paid my account in full. I then closed my account. So someone please tell me why ever month I get an statement from them??? UNEXPLAINED FEES. I CALLED THEM AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS RUDE GIVING LITTLE DETAIL WHY IM BEING CHARGED FEES AND MY ACCOUNT IS CLOSED. PLUS THEY REPORT ME TO CREDIT BUREAU. Please leave me alone!!! And take those fees off my credit BULLIES!!!

BEWARE DEALING WITH SYNCHRONY-PAYPAL!!!!!!
I have been a PayPal customer for over 30 years, but using a Chase credit card for every day purchases. I decided I wanted to put all of my business purchases on a separate card and opened a PayPal Credit Card in about 2 minutes with a small limit. Since receiving the card, I've put on a few purchases for fuel, food, Amazon and the cleaners...all WITHOUT any drama!

Today I wanted to fund an App I use for lottery purchases in my state which I have been doing for years with the Chase card, no issues. BUT today, I kept receiving "Sorry we cannot complete the transaction, contact your bank "Synchrony". So I called and got some of the truly dumbest, incapable of reasoning customer service agents I have ever had the "pleasure of dealing with!" After the agent said there were no issues on their end, I still could not load the PayPal Credit Card onto the App to use. After being on hold for several minutes, the agent came back and said (this is good!)"After speaking with my supervisor, we need to get a higher level of authorization from you. You must SUBMIT a video of yourself telling us your name, address, phone number, email address and SS#!!" I BLEW A GASKET!!!! My credit score is WELL over 825, have other credit cards with huge limits and was approved for this PAYPAL CREDIT CARD in less than 2 minutes!!

I am CLOSING MY PAYPAL ACCOUNTS, CREDIT CARD, DEBIT CARD and blasting them here for being disrespectful and argumentative to a LONG TIME cardholder!! GOODBYE PAYPAL!!! I NO LONGER NEED YOU!!!!!!!

Should highly be investigated on how they handle accounts especially with responsible paying customer

I really dislike that this bank is responsible for so many store credit banks. I have all my accounts in great standing and payoff most before the promotion ends. Then they will unexpectedly close an account when you pay it down or reduce the limit to what little you owe. It messes with your credit too due to the low balance rule to open line. How is this bank not fined or being held accountable? Meanwhile commenity bank increases credit line which I keep a low balance on. Ie: Home Depot 1600 limit Lowe’s went from 800 to 600 then 400 then closed with a 321 balance with more than minimum payments. This bank is more than trash

This is the worst company I have ever…

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. I have made way more than expected monthly and because I decided to make an early payment in the beginning of this month and planned on making another one today a week before the due date. They keep harassing me via phone and email. For what? Being a great customer? I will never work with them again.

No protection from scammers

I recently made an online purchase for a friend and used my PayPal acct. The company turned out to be a scam. They advertised another companies $5000 drone as their own and had it priced at $114.99. They then sent a drone that cost$10 on temu. After multiple calls I've determined they have zero customer protection against fraud. They also have no email address to send them documentation on a fax number. Waisted money paying to fax them the info on top of getting ripped off by the scammer. All customer service calls also get you someone in india.

Absolute worst customer service I've…

Absolute worst customer service I've ever received from a bank. I created an account to establish a new cd. I set up the transfer to fund the cd through their portal by electronic transfer. I checked online the next day, it was processing to go through. The following morning I get two emails. They deactivated my account for "security reasons" and gave a phone number to reactivate it. I spoke to two customer service reps and two managers. The reps told me the account was under review and that I'd get a letter mailed to me with the decision. I couldn't get any information about why there was a review or even how long the review process was. The managers told me that my account was already reviewed and closed this morning. They could not tell me any info at all, not the reason for review or even how to fix it, they just wanted to get me off the phone. I asked them if I was supposed to try to restart the account and was told they already deleted my profile and that it would be better to take my business to a different bank. They had zero interest or intent in helping me solve this problem.

I’d give them 0 stars if I could. Account management is terrible. The statements don’t have the account number and they won’t provide one. You need the stupid card. They want auto enroll and if you do that, WATCH OUT!! They will debit you incorrectly and then you’ll never get it back.

Sychony Bank Amazon CL reductions

I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with Synchrony Bank, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I’ve consistently paid my balance on time every single month and even paid the account in full. Despite responsible usage and maintaining a solid credit score, my credit line was suddenly slashed down to $100 with no meaningful explanation. That kind of drastic reduction is completely unreasonable given my payment history and credit profile.

To make matters worse, I originally opened the account through an Amazon promotion. I was approved, used the card responsibly for about six months, and had zero issues—until out of nowhere, they reduced my limit and destabilized my account. No warning, no transparency, no justification that makes sense.

This kind of behavior feels arbitrary and unfair. It punishes responsible customers instead of rewarding them. Actions like this can negatively impact credit utilization and overall financial stability, which is unacceptable from a financial institution.

Because of this experience, I will be closing all of my accounts with Synchrony. I’ve completely lost trust in how they handle customer accounts and credit decisions.

There are far better, more reliable banks out there that actually value their customers. Synchrony is not one of them

I usually love my synchrony account or credits They need to train their representatives to be professional instead of being impatient and hanging up on you so that you cannot leave a review. My awful experience today after a phone call at 8:45 on 19th of March That's what happened with a young lady I wish you guys would tell her to say have a good day instead of ending our call abruptly and being sneaky!

Just got the notice that they were…

Just got the notice that they were closing my accounts. I think it's more of a punishment than anything. I had a Brakes Plus card that I used because it was an interest free payment for the first year. Paid it off before the end of the year and they canceled. Good riddance, I got what I wanted from them.

Atlas Butler replaced our AC and told…

Atlas Butler replaced our AC and told us we could pay it with a Project Card through Synchrony Bank. We called a representative for a pay in full amount. We were told the amount if we made sure it got paid that same day. We made a payment, we were told our balance was now zero and we closed the card.
A month later we received an email stating we owed interest. We called customer services today and were told they do not have a way of calculating a pay-in-full amount and that it would take 2 more payments in interest to bring the account to a zero balance. Fraudulent and deceptive behavior from Project Card with Synchrony Bank.

Si pudiera le doy 0 estrellas! Hice una compra por 18 meses sin intereses, hago mis pagos y mando más de lo acordado. Y aún así me están cobrando 1.99 por el papel mensual y 2.00 de intereses por mes no se de que! No es las primera vez que hago una compra así también hice una en una mueblería y no tuve problemas ni cobros escondidos. La próxima vez que me ofrezcan comprar sin intereses primero verifico que no sea con este banco porque este es un fraude unos mentirosos!

I wish I could give this bank zero stars! As a customer of PayPal, I was offered a Cashback Rewards Mastercard. I spent less than $500 but earned $60.87 in cashback. When I went to pay on my account, the system would not allow me to redeem this amount towards my balance. Upon calling Synchrony Bank, I was informed that my account was closed (not at my request) and that I forfeited the cashback rewards. This is totally unfair and looks like a scam to me as they draw you in to open the account, spend money, then close the account and cheat you out of any cashback rewards. Please stay clear of this PayPal offer and anything to do with Synchrony Bank. I am pursuing this issue as it's a matter of principle and feel that I'm not obligated to pay my balance due to this lack of integrity on the part of the bank holding up to its end of the deal. Protect your wallet!

Using the Synchrony Pay Later (4…

Using the Synchrony Pay Later (4 Payments) program has been beyond frustrating. My payment methods kept getting rejected (I was told incorrect numbers were in put), and payments kept getting reversed leading to $16.50 late fees. Customer Service was not helpful. I will never use this service again.
