Had ACH payments set up. When I got tax money back I called to pay my balance… little did I know there was a tiny balance left over. TINY!! They stopped pulling ACH payments so I figured I was in the clear… OUT OF NOWHERE months later I start getting charged again.. called to inquire and they said “the promo expired” so I got back charged ALL THE INTEREST!!! OVER $5,000!!!!!!!

This company is horrible they will charge you interest on anything. If you make a double payment by mistake they make as you defaulted, then charge you on the default charge and the account separately. When you call them their only answer is Im sorry I can't help you. Will never open another account attached to this bank.

**update: 30 days after I submitted this review they closed my Lowe’s account with zero notification. They reported it in bad standing. I’ve never missed a payment. I pay way more than the minimum payment each month. In fact paid all but $200 off on my balance March 25th. Because of what they did my credit score dropped FIFTY points!! FIFTY POINTS!!! This has detrimental to my credit and I’m in the process of buying a house which now I can’t proceed until I bring my score back up 50 points. I will contacting an attorney to work at filing a class action lawsuit and I’m reaching out to Lowe’s corporate to let them know what this company does to good customers. I am livid and this company does not care. What they did was stupid. They closed a line of credit of a good customer who uses the card and pays each and every month. That’s poor business sense and really bad customer service. I can only assume this was done out of retaliation for my poor review.
If I could give zero stars I would. I had an amazone card through them. I would make a purchase. Then pay the card off each month. Started with $400 limit. Then it dropped to $350. Then a couple months later it dropped to $250. Not once did I leave a rolling balance on this card. Each month I paid it off. I paid $200 last week. Find out today they again dropped my limit to $50. I closed it. This hurts your credit each time they decrease your limit. HORRIBLE BANK.

PP creit cards thru Synchrony are a scam.
I accepted a $40 rebate offer from PP to get their Credit card through Synchrony Bank. In that offer, it approved my credit and I placed the order. 1 page visit, card ordered and approved, purchase made on the spot. A week later, PP said the card was in the mail. I did not receive it, I do not know the card number and I certainly did not call the phone # on the back of the missing card to activate it. PP pestered me to activate in several emails. I replied by email that I did NOT have the card and to cancel it because it was lost in the mail. Fast forward to this week and somebody charged my card $4000 on Monday AND Friday and another $900 this morning while I was on the phone filing my fraud case with them. I cancelled the card about 10 days ago but somehow, 3 different scammers put $8900 on this card that was never activated and never in my possession In addition, virtually all transactions these days require 2 factor authorization, usually by verifying a 6 sigit code sent to your phone. I have asked PP how someone can get a code sent to my phone while it is in my pocket. No reply. When I file the fraud cases or call to get it escalated, I get the same email response: "We don't see any suspicious activity on your account."They actually pay these people without any question. I am severing all connections with PP. They really don't care. PayPal has no explanation either. After I filed the first claim, PP requested a new CC. I did not approve that. I was not asked to approve it. I will be filing this same complaint on PayPal. They are just as uncooperative.

I have 2 different accounts thru this bank. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get a live person on the phone. Once you get in que to speak to someone is a long wait time to talk to them. After going thru all of their ridiculous prompts, getting to an agent, who couldnt give me the information i needed, and telling her to just cancel both of my accounts(0 bal on both) I either got disconnected or hung up on before getting the cancelation handled. And guess what she told me, you have to speak to someone to cancel them. Hopefully I will be able to do that online, another phone call fiasco with these people may be the end of my sanity as it stands. They offer 0% term loans thru retail establishments, which is what gets you. I would rather just find another way to pay. Ill NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!!
Unsafe Tire Installation Put My Family at Risk – Pep Boys & Synchrony Ignored It”
I need to say something about my experience with Pep Boys and Synchrony Bank.
I trusted Pep Boys to put tires on my vehicle, and the job was done incorrectly. Because of that, my family and I were put in a very dangerous situation that could have ended much worse. No one should have to worry about their safety after paying a company for a basic service like installing tires.
When I tried to dispute the issue through Synchrony Bank (the company behind the Pep Boys credit account), I explained exactly what happened and how serious it was, but the dispute was still denied.
Businesses should stand behind the services they finance and the work being done. Safety should always come first. I’m sharing this so people are aware and think twice before trusting companies that don’t take situations like this seriously.

Same story different account holder! On time payments never late never missed. Kept reducing our Ashley Furniture balance until they closed the account for no reason. EVERY time they reduced credit it hit the credit report hard due to reported usage. Now closing it?!?! Huge impact on credit report! They are the worst! Bad CS rep regarding Payment Card Security enrollment
This review is for my experience with a customer service rep. When I signed up for a Care Credit card I enrolled in the Payment Card Security program. About 6 months later I saw my bill payment and noticed these fees. Not knowing what it was I canceled it today because I lost my job. The rep did not even mentioned once that the PCS feature has an option to help with my loan. She went ahead and cancel it anyway without even giving me an option to use this feature. It is partially my fault for not understanding the PCS but I thought a CS rep would at least explain to me what my options were before I canceled my PCS enrollment.

Having spent hours with their representatives on the phone unsuccessfully going through a verification process and a menu of options and being transferred to a number of people ,THIS IS THE WORST BANK AVAILABLE .. The same processes took me 15 minutes with Capital One .
2 cards and 99 problems
We have 2 cards with this company. I had done a payment OVER the amount due. I guess I put in the wrong acct # so it didnt go through. My husband and I called to pay it. Well the customer service put the acct number under savings so it bounced back, I was charged a 30 return fee. We got super busy with our jobs and called today. I wanted all the fees taken care of due to their negligence this time. I called and spoke with "Connie", she wanted me to pay my bill but would fix anything. Then she told us we would be able to talk to customer service, guess she wasn't? She gets back on the phone after a good few minutes and tells us they cant fix the fee nothing they can do at all, its on my bank. I said to her that WE were suppose to talk to customer support. She told us she had already dealt with it and refused to let us speak to the actual customer service. We will no longer trust this company and will never use our cards again.

After years of never missing a single payment Synchrony just reduced my credit line by more than half. That crashed my credit score overnight. Their customer service agents are in India and barely speak english and dont understand how the American credit score system works.

We tried to open a CD with this bank and their claim was they could not verify us. This is a JOKE! They claim to offer high yield returns but then claim they can't verify anything once they have all of the information that ANY other bank has been able to verify our entire lives. This experience has been a total waste of time.
I have several accounts with Synchrony… Closed Account
I have several accounts with Synchrony Bank and not had any late payments. I have the rooms to go credit and not maxed out but they closed it, which caused my credit score to drop considerably. I called them,
they said they can close an account anytime they feel a consumers credit to debt ratio is high. I just bought my 3rd house which increased my debt. Now my credit score is fair due to this account closure. This is poor practice with no fair reason if I have not paid late on any of my accounts at all.
