My mums just received a puzzlebook from an membership with this company, which she hasn't joined.. I have sent an email to cancel membership.. The email they gave me to cancel doesn't exist.. I have reported to watchdog... please anyone else who has been scammed by this company report to watchdog, the more complaints the more likely they are to investigate..Low life scumbags who pray on the elderly.

Watch out for "Premier Book Club/Rewards Club"

I received a letter from "Premier Book Club" which said I'd agreed to a trial membership and had charged me £1.99 which would be followed by £89.90unless I cancelled within 28 Days. They said my order had come via The Rewards Club who had telephoned me and I had given them my card details. I had not had any such call and would not give my details like this. I was told that I'd receive 12 children's books, one for each month of the year. I am 75 and have no children in my family so clearly this is a despicable scam. I have spotted the transaction on my credit card statement and have blocked the card immediately with my provider. Please watch out for transactions like this and tell you friends to do likewise!

This unethical business practice is…

This unethical business practice is still in full swing. They have been taking over £70 per month from a 90 year old relative's account for months. No service or goods appears to have been delivered.
Trading Standards are being informed, along with the ICO.

Books arrived totally out of the blue

Books arrived totally out of the blue - unrequested and unwanted - together with an invoice to my stepfather who is registered blind! How does that happen?
I have asked for an explanation but nothing forthcoming yet.
AVOID!!

Horrendous Company praying on elderly

Same as everyone else - my Nan received 2 calls from The Reward Club, both times she said she is not interested and hung up, later she received a letter confirming her trial for 28 days.
We called the cancellation number 03451746011, got through straight away and was advised that the cancellation had been processed. I didn’t have time to get into it with them regarding the scam - funny enough they asked the reason for the cancellation before I even asked to cancel!

My Nan is also calling her bank to ensure they can not take money from her account. This is absolutely horrendous. I’m glad we caught it in time, very sad to see others did not.

Untrustworthy and dishonest

An inhumane company with no care for those who are vulnerable. My father bought products from Easylife and then received a phone call from The Rewards Club. When he realised it was a marketing call he confirmed he wasn't interested, to which the salesman proceeded to try and sell a subscription. My father then said he was finding the call distressing. The salesman terminated the call and proceeded to take the money (£76) from my father's debit card. The card information had been held against data protection rules on an account with Easylife. In addition to this, my father is a member of the TPS (Telephone Preference Service), which states marketing calls shouldn't be attempted unless they've been 'opted into', which he hadn't, so the call was also unlawful. The transaction has been reported as fraud. Utterly disgraceful - I am saddened these companies continue to be allowed to trade.

When bed-socks priced £12 end up costing you £400+ and counting

My father has been signed up to three Rewards Club 'clubs' without his knowledge or consent since making one purchase from EasyLife. They phoned him multiple times trying to pressure him into subscribing and offering free vouchers. He made it very clear he did not want free vouchers, did not want to be subscribed to any clubs, and wanted to cancel immediately, but was told this was not possible. He immediately cancelled these 'subscriptions' within the 'free trial' period on receiving the documentation through the post. However, despite this, these 'clubs' have been taking payments amounting to £400+ over the last 7 months - in fact they take the payments well before the end of the 'free trial'. When I phoned their customer support, they assured me the subscriptions were already cancelled but could not explain why payments were being taken. Interestingly, the payments for a so-called 'regular' subscription occur on different days of the month, and on some months there are no payments - presumably to make it more difficult to spot the scam. I was told they will give a refund if I email details of the payment amounts and dates of payment - but the email I sent to the email address given was returned as 'too large' to be delivered.
This is a predatory company, preying on vulnerable elderly people. Avoid buying anything from EasyLife, and check your elderly relatives' bank accounts with a fine tooth comb.
EasyLife have received a £1.5 million fine from the ICO for handling of personal data and predatory marketing calls - just search for 'EasyLife' and 'Which?' and you will find the information.
Also, do not believe any of the responses to other reviews I have seen where they copy and paste a message about not carrying out Outbound call activity and partners adhering to strict rules and regulations, or that it is easy to unsubscribe from any clubs. From my father's experience, it is virtually impossible.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, TOTAL CROOKS

A complete shambles of a company, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not get involved with them. My father who has Alzheimer's, orderED one item from The Reward Club no problem all arrived in good order, then BANG, the months following he was automatically signed into The Book Club, Well Being Club, Puzzle Club, Rewards Club, Gardening Club and a monthly subscription to leaflets. ==== ALL AMOUNTING TO A MONTHY BILL OF £152.96 ==== Several phone calls have been made on 16th April, 1st June and again today 1st July, apparently all subscription have been cancelled but charges STILL have been taken out of his account. Customer service are a complete joke, no manager / supervisor available to help. I'm all ready for part 4 next month. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Easylife rewardsclub company are dispicable they target…

This company are dispicable they target the elderly and have no shame taking payments directly out of their bank accounts. My father is 82 and has memory problems. He bought something from Easylife around 12 months earlier and somehow they signed him up to a gardening rewards club even though he hasn't got a garden. They took £825.63 in 14 separate payments out of his account by setting up payments with his debit card details. The sad part about all of this is that if I hadn't of noticed these payments on his bank account, they would still be taking them now.
How many others are they doing this to?
I have since got all this money back.

I wish there was a minus star

I wish there was a minus star. I never signed up for this. The arrival of 7 rubbish books, which I would never order, was the first I heard of this. Easy life is a company to be avoided - now they are operating under a different name. I am going to try and get money back, vain hope.

Same experience as everyone else. Told cold caller repeatedly I didn’t want to join but was told I would still get the voucher. Have cancelled over the phone and think I’ll follow this up with a cancellation by email. Complete scam.

Scam linked to Easylife

As others have said this is scam linked with Easylife. My 87 year old father bought some plants from Easylife using his debit card and without knowing he had "agreed" to join the gardening club which was administered by The Rewards Club. This club cost £180 in 9 months before I cancelled the membership. I have tried to get the last "annual subscription" refunded, but we'll see if it arrives. To avoid this happening again, I have asked the bank to block all future payments from the debit card to Easylife.

We have had the same experience/comments as everyone else so won’t repeat the details except to say this is a terrible company which engages in very dodgy business practices. My husband is on the phone to his bank as I type this, trying to stop a pending transaction going through.

DON’T TRUST THE REWARDS CLUB

Do not use this company. I had a Love2shop card from them. I decided to cancel my membership but I still had £188.16 on my card. Now that I have left the company I’m unable to get my money back.

The tactics to gain membership are…

The tactics to gain membership are beyond disgusting. After a confusing cold call number from an Indian woman who was talking fast and kept trying to make me say the word yes ,I put the phone down on her telling her I didn't ask her to call me and wasn't interested in her jargon .two weeks later I received a letter stating quote! Following your conversation with our agent !! Tge letter us cinfusing impying uve joined their ckub and need to sign on the dotted line and send it back if i wish to unsuscribe !! They have NOT been given my bank details ! I rang their number on the letter with my new customer account number!! How dare they I am really annoyed and threatened them with my soliciter if they bother me again .thus companies tactics are dangerous especially to elderly or even anyone who gets easily confused .steer clear if thus racket they are only interested in gaining your money and must be desperate to have to behave as they have done with me .sincerly Ruth Thompson
