Avoid tmo.

Not worth going to this warranty company. Complete and utter waste of time. Complete scam. They do not help, they are extremely difficult to work with. I brought a car and my turbo had died, the customer service contact department took way to long to answer, useless people on the phone. Gave all the correct information, the garage gave the same information. The manager said no not acceptable, despite customer service saying yes all good. Do not go to this company , if i could give them minus stars I would. They are a waste of space.

I'm editing this as i'm making it clearer. On the phone we agreed that it was okay with the garage I selected. I even asked which garage I should go to for them before I found a garage, tmo said to me they dont select garages, I have to find my own garage that will work with tmo. Which is impossible to do. Most garages dont work with warranty companies. The garage I found said they dont do warranty (but i needed my car fixed asap) however I asked for all the evidence, which was given to the tmo team. They disregarded it, even though I was within the first 90 days (when the car had broke down and claim was put in via warranty). So the negative review still stands. I did everything they required despite what they say. It makes no sense. Avoid at all costs. Even if you have a brand new car good luck, avoid tmo at all costs.

We’re sorry to read your review, particularly given the situation you found yourself in with the vehicle breaking down.

However, it’s important that we clarify the facts of your claim for anyone reading this.

From the outset, our team responded quickly, explained the process clearly, and confirmed exactly what information was required to assess your claim. This included a diagnosis, cause of failure, and costs – all of which are standard requirements to ensure claims are handled fairly and accurately for all customers.

We also made it clear (both verbally and in writing) that we needed this information before any repair work was carried out, so that we could review and, where appropriate, authorise the claim.

Unfortunately, in this case:

1. The repair work was completed without authorisation
2. The required diagnostic evidence and images were not provided
3. The repairing garage later proved difficult to contact
4. Your garages comments were that there was no evidence of a failure that met the terms of the cover in place

Despite this, our team still attempted to gather information directly from the garage to see if there was any way we could assist, even after the work had already been completed without approval.

We understand this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for, but this was not a case of us being “unhelpful” or “difficult” it was a situation where the claims process wasn’t followed and the necessary evidence wasn’t available.

We always aim to support our customers where we can, but we also have a responsibility to apply the terms of cover consistently and fairly.

I cant recommend TMO enough!

I cant recommend TMO enough, it is always stressful when things go wrong but Charlotte, who helped me today, was very helpful and talked me through exactly what was happening, next steps and answered all my questions, making sure i was comfortable with the action taken and put my mind at ease. Thank you Charlotte for all of your help!!!

Very Efficient Experience

I had the pleasure of speaking to Charlotte who helped me through the whole claim process. With her help the claim went very smoothly. Even the mechanic said that the process was one of the most efficient he had experienced. Thanks!

Absolutely terrible experience with…

Absolutely terrible experience with this warranty company.

My BMW 540I has been stuck in the garage for over THREE WEEKS due to oil and coolant leaks, and they are still unable to resolve a straightforward claim.

They insisted on sending a third-party inspector, but the process is completely unreasonable. The garage was told to dismantle parts of the vehicle BEFORE the inspection, with no clear confirmation on who will cover the additional labour costs. On top of that, the car would need to stay on the ramp for days, preventing the garage from taking other jobs.

The inspection itself is also delayed, meaning even more waiting time with no progress.

Because of this, my car is still not repaired, and I have been left without a vehicle for weeks. The lack of efficiency, poor communication, and refusal to take responsibility for costs is extremely frustrating.

If this continues, I may be forced to pay out of pocket for a rental car just to get on with my daily life.

Would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Be very careful before purchasing a warranty from them.

We’re sorry to read your review, but it’s important to provide some context for anyone reading this.

From the outset, our intention has been to support your claim and establish the exact cause of the oil and coolant leaks on your BMW. This isn’t something that can be assumed or guessed, and it requires clear diagnostic evidence before any decision can be made.

In this case, the cause of the fault was not evident without further investigation, which is why an inspection was arranged. This is a completely standard part of the process and is there to ensure that, where a valid claim exists, it is authorised correctly and fairly.

The request for the garage to strip components is not “unreasonable” it’s often the only way to accurately identify the source of leaks, especially where multiple systems are involved. Without this, any decision (approval or decline) would simply be guesswork, which wouldn’t stand up for you or us.

It’s also worth noting we cannot approve repairs without understanding the cause of failure and cannot commit to costs before costs are established. Inspections are used specifically to support customers where the fault is unclear

We appreciate the situation is frustrating, particularly when you’re without your vehicle, but the delays here are a result of the necessary diagnostic and inspection process, not a lack of willingness to help.

We remain more than happy to progress the claim as soon as the required evidence is available so a fair and accurate decision can be made.

Your staff are great knowledgeable and…

Your staff are great knowledgeable and helpful, but the rates you allow for labour are pitiful in this day and age. £41. It’s taken 9 months to get a garage willing to work with yourselves let alone the rate. Even this company are over £71/hr and would only accept the job if I pay first otherwise they would not have accepted the work

First contact with TMO was excellent

First contact with TMO was excellent, my case was dealt with in a timely manner and clear instructions were given. It did take a few attempts to get through to the helpline post repair but my overall experience was very good. Thank you Mollie and Charlotte
