I’ve never even used this app but bloody hell the reviews made me want to write a review to say they are C U NEXT TUESDAYs!!!

Really a horrible service, the driver refused to take us, because we had a 14 years old kid. And we were charged, really a horrible company that seems to have one objective - scam its customers

Never use this app if you are in a rush and need to get somewhere on time. When booked it it's said 4mins ETA arrival, 5mins later it showed 5mins ETA arrival, then 6min, 7mins and then got cancelled. I received an automated message saying that the driver had to cancel my trip as was waiting for me at the pick up and I apparently didn't show up. Eh??? It was not anywhere near me. So unreliable. Try only if you want to try out your luck. Ended up ordering the good old Uber.

Very poor service. Just £1 difference from Uber but the time it takes to get the ride is too much more then what app tells you.
I once ordered and app showed me 7mnts but the driver showed up after 17 minutes.
I booked shared ride and was travelling from Stratford to Ilford Lane. The driver took went all the way from Stratford to Leytonstone I asked him why you going this way and he said I can’t do anything it’s shared ride and app is telling me go and pick somebody else. This was too much of detouring then after that passenger he went to Canning Town then again turned back in Romford road to pick up someone from Forestgate to drop the first customer and pick up second customer. In short that 15 minute journey from Stratford took me 55 minutes only because I choose to be a fool to use Viavan’s smart ride share service & got scammed by their marketing campaign on London busses.
Will never ever use this quality of service and will never recommend to anyone unless someone has got to save a pound and cover 15 minutes distance in 1 hour or more.

The likelihood of you sharing a car with another passenger is quite high in my experience, but only for a short part of the journey.

If you use the pool service, which is the cheapest option, you'll get picked up at a certain place a short walk away and dropped off nearby. It isn't a door to door service.

Drivers tend to be more stressed doing jobs for ViaVan. It may be down to the sharing aspect or they have passengers who treat them badly, which then gets passed on to decent riders like myself.

Overall, it's cheap, faster than the bus or tube, but should be used as a last resort option of if you can't afford an Uber, Kapten or Bolt cab.

Worst app I have every used. They would charge and the drivers would not turn up. Advised 3-5 days for a re-fund. Unacceptable. This is neither proffesional and is robbery. Avoid at all cost.

Avoid at all cost. Via van offer cheap taxi prices but at a large cost afterwards. They withhold your card details on their app which attempts to withdraw more money from your account without your permission after using a via van service. I had to call my bank as a part of fraud precaution following suspicious activity from via van. Please avoid and pay more for a better professional and safe journey. It is also worth mentioning the drivers are rude, unprofessional and impatient. In addition, the drivers take the longest possible routes they can find.

Never used this company but they have hacked into my bank and stolen money. I don't even live in London. My bank have told me they are now investigating them for fraud. Like someone else had already said, only put one star because, there isn't a way to put zero. Be very careful of using this company. Absolutely disgusted with them.

Unreliable. Waited for 40 min and the driver didn't show up. Didn't even cancel. They said your driver will be there in 4 min. And that for 35 min. Ok bye

One star because there isn't a zero rating available!

The driver never showed up and didn't answer the phone. I had a text message to say they had rebooked a new driver (15 mins after the time my driver was supposed to have arrived) and then I received a text saying "Oh no! We couldn’t find you a new driver. You won’t be charged, and if you’d like to rebook, you can do so now in the ViaVan app."

Stick to Uber!

I've been asking for an invoice since DECEMBER, with something around 15 emails and they've always found the most stupid excuse to not giving it to me. First it was only at the end of the month (december). Then they said I misunderstood, is at the end of the following month (Jan). Oh, something went wrong, now is possible only at the end of Feb... They swore I would have it, but I was in the queue since they had a lot of requests.... now is April, 5 months and no invoice yet.

Friendly drivers, nice cars and apparently they charge their drivers less commission than uber which makes me happy!

I've always had a decent experience with ViaVan. It isn't always as convenient as Uber, and can take a little longer depending on the route, but it's still way cheaper than Uber and faster that London's public transport. So I guess it's kind of in the middle - if you're too broke for Uber but don't want to spend an hour getting home on the night bus, ViaVan is the perfect in-between service to use.

I have driven with both Uber and viavan. Ive started with Viavan since the launch. I have endorsed and helped spread the word to customers, even though there were 1000s of flaws with app that majority of drivers are aware of.
I have always had a terrible experience with the support/customer services team, they are never able to help me when ever there is a issue (and their app has so many), I have not been paid so many times, this is very scary as a self employed driver, ive had to keep chasing up, i have to wait a long time for a reply, most of the times, the staff dont know whats going on, eventually they do, but i have to fight argue waste time to insure i get correct paid. Its a stressful dangerous company. This happens so frequently.
Ive maintained a excellent profile rating of 4.95 (out of 5), always delivering excellent customer service BUT Viavan have without notice decided to take me of there platform only for 1 reason, I have rejected a few jobs. all drivers know and ive explained this to viavan why (i.e. Viavan automatically issue me with jobs after a drop, and the next job is always 15 or 20 minutes away, this means a loss for drivers, Also in most cases, if we do choose to do the job, 85% of the times, the customer cancels on us, meaning we waste time, money, petrol commuting and customer cancels and we dont even get paid for this, however viavan do. This is a crafty method of viavan making a profit on customers and driver losses.
Viavan can gterminate any driver if they want without notice, They have done this with 5 of my colleagues, I am next. This is dangerous as it means you no longer can work, and you are investing to make money, so this kind of decision is disgraceful.
In Short. BEWARE of VIAVAN. Dangerous, Cheat, Crafty, Extrememly poor customer services, i can attach the endless list of emails in which i had to chase up correct pay every week as they pay incorrectly and delay.
You have been warned. Stick with Uber, even Hopp and Kapten are far better. Ive never had this problem with uber, 1000 times better.
The way things are going with Viavan, i think they will soon go bankrupt and i wont be surprised. I welcome Kapten who are launching next month.

Had three rides so far with ViaVan and would NOT recommend them if you have a time schedule. Very unreliable as each ride cancelled the initial ride after 5 minutes or so and then sent another ride which took another 15 minutes. So won’t be using them even though they undercut Uber for fare prices. Just not reliable enough.

Tried via van after receiving a discount flyer from them. Pick-up went smooth but driver took at first a wrong turn in Central London which took some time to get en route again. If it hadn't been for this experience would have been excellent. Sharing the ride does obviously take longer as some little detours are inevitable but that's what you signed up for.

I booked a private ride and the riding experience was great!

HOWEVER, clearly they have a problem with payment because I had a promo code for a £10 ride credit, which I was expecting to use to pay for the ride, but they charged my PayPal TWICE and I’m still waiting for my refund. Bare in mind they took money from my ride credit AND my PayPal?? They need to fix this.

Other than this discrepancy, the service was pretty great.

UPDATE: I learned that the terms and conditions state:

“
Ride credit that was NOT purchased (i.e. referral programme credit or promotional credit) is capped at £4 per ride in London. If you have more than £4 of Ride Credit and take a trip that costs more than £4, we’ll deduct £4 from your Ride Credit balance and charge the remainder to your credit card or purchased Ride Credit on file.”

I am very disappointed that I wasn’t alerted of this before payment and this isn’t stated more clearly.
