So awful!
The timber was absolute rubbish and such low quality.
Delivery turned up unannounced on a day I was told not to expect it.
The management seemed completely incompetent in sorting anything out.
Do yourself a favour and use a different company.

So glad I found Wern-Wood after seeing them advertised on Facebook — their prices are amazing and easily the cheapest around. I called into the shop and the man serving was absolutely brilliant: really helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and gave me great advice on everything I needed to build our new decking area.
All the staff were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. I was also shocked (in the best way!) that I could get same-day delivery because they were already delivering in my area. Even the delivery driver went above and beyond.
100% recommended — fantastic service, great prices, and an all-round excellent experience.

I’m not one to go out of my way to write reviews but felt that I needed to after my experience with this company. If I could give zero stars that would be the review.
In the process of a complete property renovation I messaged Mason Hawkes who was advertising good prices via Facebook Marketplace.
I discussed what we required and was happy to help out a small local business and put quite a lot of business their way.
I paid for an initial order over £300 and was told that it was free delivery.
I was promised on Tuesday that I would be told what time my delivery would be arriving for the Wednesday. I waited until 6pm and hadn’t heard anything. On Wednesday morning the builders were on site and waiting for the materials. I contacted Wern Wood and was told that my materials were being picked and would be with me HOPEFULLY very shortly?
The builders waited and then at midday I received a text message to say that the delivery would not be made as they were too busy elsewhere???
I contacted them to complain that the builders were sat there waiting and they then got the materials out just before the builders were due to go home!
I received an invoice with a £20 delivery fee when I was clearly told it was free delivery!
I have contacted Wern Wood and their attitude was Oh we will deduct this off your next order??
All I can say is if you want to deal with a company who add fees to your bill without you knowing and mess you about with deliveries then Wern Wood is ideal.
My advice don’t bother!

Update : The company’s response below is inaccurate. For clarity,
1/ I was told originally what the rate was for the plasterboards that I was ordering and this can be found on Mason Hawkes Facebook page, there was no difference in price based on the amount ordered.
2/ I ordered over £300 of materials for one delivery and was told it was free delivery.
3/ I amended the order as you called me to say that you could not supply insulated plasterboards but the order was still over £300.
4/ I was told that you would send me an invoice via WhatsApp but instead the delivery driver gave it to the builder. You only sent the invoice the next day following my complaint regarding the delivery fee. Why would I contact you to complain about a delivery fee if you had previously told me about it??
5/ After paying for the materials it was a battle to get them delivered and the builders could have got on with the plasterboarding had you not messed about with the delivery. One minute you message to say that hopefully you will deliver then another message to say that the van is being loaded for my delivery then a text at midday to say that you are too busy to deliver, then you will try to get the materials to me??

Extremely disappointed with this transaction from Wern Wood. Would only be a 1 star review but for the excellent prices they offer.

Ordered items on Monday and was advised would be delivered Wednesday/Thursday which was important as was having works completed over the weekend. Items arrived on Friday which is fine as was in time for weekend. A plasterboard ordered was damaged en route by rain. Contacted the store to arrange a replacement. I was told they would try their best to get me one at the end of the day a that I would get a phone call within an hour advising. A couple of hours passed I heard nothing. I phoned in and was told they are trying to work on it and again I would get a call back. I waited until the end of the day and still had not heard anything so i decided to call again. Was advised they would not be able to deliver to me that evening and that they would get it delivered first thing Saturday morning. With the arrangements I had I felt I could make this work. Saturday morning still no delivery and did not get a call until 12.30pm telling they would not be delivering the item and I would be issued a refund. Really not ideal to be lead along all this time. If I had been told this Friday morning I could have made other arrangements instead of putting my trust in them. Needless to say, work was not completed as it’s not easy to fit a 2.4m piece of plasterboard in my car and now I am having to fork out extra money to have someone come back and finish the work

the company is a supplier of quality wood products, they have good customer relation skills
their service was of a high quality with friendly and helpful staff,
all together a very good company to do business with

Good price. Reception service great, however only one person on fork lift, I was a little unsure on what to do with the receipt to obtain the wood.

I received fantastic service from Wern Wood. Received my insulation order same day which allowed me to get on with the job in hand sooner than I was expecting. They were helpful over the phone as was the person delivering.

Will look to use again for my next job.

Loads of staples sticking out of the panels. Box of screws on my order which i did not order but I've been charged for. Bot worst of all I had mo contact as to when the order was coming. I had to rush to make room for the panels. As a result a large tub of paint fell over covering my clothes which are now ruined. I would have given less stars but for the fact that the order did turn up quicker than expected.

Great prices and great place. Loads of handy bits in reception too. Good service all round.
