Great experience

Great communication, prompt response on all query, delivery could be a bit better as there were no updates, 5 minutes before delivery was sent the time window before delivery, so my wife had to leave work to be able to receive the bike. DPD is DPD as we all know. I'd change to DHL if there's a chance. Very easy, smooth experience. Flexible as I wanted to assemble myself. Big shout out to Archie who assisted with the whole process such as waiver, payment, delivery and all. He went over and beyond. Thank you guys! Spot on!

Went to 99 Bikes the other day to try…

Went to 99 Bikes the other day to try on some bike helmets, and whilst there i mentioned to one of the staff that my front brake was binding and whether they had any idea how to fix and he just lifted onto the service bracket and fixed it there on the spot and didn't want anything in payment for sorting..... Great service and great team. Not many places like this around anymore. Highly recommend

Advertised bike not in stock / poor service

Be careful as advertised bikes are not in stock. Was offered a lower spec bike for same price. Probably a selling strategy, so beware. Save time/disappointment and avoid.

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, bikes do tend to sell out and stock levels can change quickly. We would always endeavour to find a suitable alternative however, this is not always possible. 

With Cycle To Work quotations, unless specifically requested to do so or agreed upon, stock is not reserved until the point of order.

Amazing service can’t fault anything .
Knowledgeable and helpful .
We went in with an Alan bike box and he showed my daughter how to put the bike in for her trip to Romania for the euros next week . We were really worried about fitting the bike in the and they were so helpful.
Literally nothing is a problem .

Paid in full 2 months ago but no order placed.

I ordered an expensive Orbea bike and, as this was a custom order, was required to pay in full, which I did on 29 May 2025. I was informed that it would be supplied early/mid July. Having received no updates whatsoever I enquired of the status of my order on 24 July 2025. Having sent email and made calls, I have just been informed that order was not placed with Orbea and delivery will now be mid December. A refund has been offered. Totally unacceptable.

Broke seatpost collar

Was out for a long ride and 80k needed to adjust seat post and collar broke. Went to 99 in Chichester who didn’t have a spare on shelf but found a specialised one in work shop and repaired it for free meaning I got the second half of ride in.

I go there quite often and they are excellent - really knowledgeable and feels like a cycling community rather than a shop.

Would avoid and buy elsewhere

Ordered a bike and received confirmation e-mail and money was taken. However after a month of checking the shop app and no further updates about when I would receive the bike, I e-mailed to enquire about the status of my order. To my shock I was advised that due to an inventory error my bike was now out of stock. I was given an apology and an offer of an alternative bike but no details provided of what this would be nor was I interested … I wanted what was chosen and ordered. All faith in this company at this point was lost, and I therefore requested a full refund which was issued. This companys incompetence left us in a situation where the bike my daughter had wanted was out of stock everywhere or at significant higher cost.

We have since sourced an alternative better quality bike from 3 peaks who in comparison were fabulous from purchase right through to delivery. 99 Bikes should do better! It is not acceptable to run a business accepting orders, taking people’s money and providing confirmation for a bike they do not have or had perhaps in the time that passed sold the bike and forgot about my order! They won’t be seeing my business again.

Avoid 99Bikes – They Don’t Honour Consumer Rights

I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with 99Bikes, PHIL has been the one dealing with my order, and I feel compelled to warn others. They rely on delivery services like DPD but refuse to take responsibility when things go wrong.

In my case, DPD left my parcel with a concierge – without my authorisation – and took a photo of it sitting unsecured with other people’s packages. Unsurprisingly, the item is now missing. Despite clear evidence that this wasn’t a safe delivery, 99Bikes have washed their hands of the matter, hiding behind vague claims of GPS data “proving” delivery.

Under UK consumer law, the seller is responsible for ensuring goods are delivered to the customer, yet 99Bikes completely ignores this obligation. Instead, they’re quick to blame the customer and suggest contacting the police as if that solves the problem.

This is the definition of cowboy behaviour. They do not adhere to consumer laws, offer zero accountability, and don’t care about resolving issues. You’re better off shopping with a reputable retailer who values their customers.

Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere.

Awful!!!

Awful. Absolutely awful.

Sold me a bike and an expensive D lock that scratched the paint and rendered the bike unreturnable. The assistant seemed like he knew enough about bikes to point this out before sale. The bike was not the right size now I am hundreds of pounds short. Will never return, and I recommend you shop elsewhere. 0*. Rude, take your money and give no mind to negative reviews, awful company.

Truly miserable shopping experience.

Absolutely fantastic customer service

Absolutely fantastic customer service. Took my Canyon road bike in as the gears were not shifting. Jordan was incredibly helpful. His knowledge and friendly attitude made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Without a double the best customer service from Jordan I have ever received. Highly recommend this bike shop if you're looking for quality service and genuine support.

Care more about the money in your pocket than the people they serve!

99 Bikes Totton. What a dreadful ripoff.
I was out. Cycling on my Brompton. I normally do all my own service and repairs until it gets to the point I can’t or don’t have the tools. At 66 I suffer with arthritis in both hands and other areas of my body. Today my rear gears were playing up and needed a slight adjustment no more than a 10-15 second fix, but my fingers were very stiff.

I was disgusted with the request of £15. You have lost a customer. Never again will I come to your shop. I would rather travel to Reading and visit Evans Cycles. And will never recommend you to anyone.

Exceeded my Expectations…

Ordered my bike online and was told it would take 10 days. I received a call the next informing me that my bike was ready for collection.

Went to Totton this morning and received excellent customer service from Matthew - overall a brilliant experience from ordering to pickup.

Awesome Shop, Great knowledgeable staff

So glad we stumbled across this bike shop! Incredibly knowledgeable, patient and helpful staff. Listened to what I needed and wanted and helped me find an outstanding bike adapting it to meet my needs.

For the first time ever I am confident riding a bike!

All the team were great, Byron went above and beyond to help me find what I needed.

The shop has a large range of bikes, knowledgeable and helpful staff and a great range of accessories!

Great product knowledge and customer service

Went into 99Bikes to look at purchasing a MTB for my daughter. She has been in numerous shops without success, but Matt was so helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Guiding her through the range (in store or at the warehouse). Although we didn't buy it that day, I ordered a SCOTT ascent online for collection a few days later, which she has now had her first ride on!
